Actor Diego Luna will reprise his Rogue One: A Star Wars Story role as Cassian Andor for an untitled live action TV series which will take place before the events of Rogue One.

“Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me,” said Luna in a statement on StarWars.com. “I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.”

As with most of the main characters in Rogue One, Cassian Andor seemingly perished at the end of the film. The new series will recount tales of Andor's adventures before the events of Rogue One.

Here's how StarWars.com describes the TV series: "The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire."

The series will premiere on Disney+, Lucasfilm parent company Disney's upcoming streaming service. No premiere date was announced.
