Ming-Na Wen's "Star Wars: The Mandalorian" character has been revealed as a sharpshooter named Fennec Shand.
"We got our inspiration really from the name. The idea of a fennec fox came to mind," Wen told Vanity Fair, who revealed the character. "She's tricky, and yet she’s able to maneuver and survive, and be stealthy - so very graceful and agile. I just love that whole image with the name."
"Thinking that she’s a mercenary, it can go either way. I think it remains to be seen," Wen continued, comparing Fennec Shand to Han Solo. "She is definitely someone who's loyal to herself."
Here's a new video clip from the Disney+ streaming show which introduces Fennec Shand. The Mandalorian premieres November 12 on Disney+.
