Billy Dee Williams has signed on to reprise his iconic role of Lando Calrissian in Lucasfilm's as-yet-untitled Star Wars: Episode IX, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Writer/director J.J. Abrams is scheduled to begin production on the film later this month.

Williams last appeared as Lando in 1983's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and has voiced the actor in several Star Wars video game and animation projects including two 2015 episodes of Star Wars: Rebels.

Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled to open in theaters December 20, 2019.
