Beneath the Clouds of Venus
Purple Planet
This ultraviolet Hubble Space Telescope image highlights typical weather patterns in the swirling clouds, although no part of the Venusian surface is visible. Though similar in size to Earth, Venus rotates only once every 243.01 Earth days, and from east to west -- or in retrograde motion.
