How many star projectors do you need? I still don't have an answer. It started with a blue, Northern-Lights style projector, then one capable of projecting actual stars, albeit not in the right color. Not only is it a fun build and impressive to look at, it's packed with playability. We called it a "near-perfect vehicle" in our Lego Star Wars AT-TE review and that still stands. At this price, it's a fantastic deal for Clone Wars fans and, combined with other sets, can be expanded into a whole battlefield.

So what is it about this Lego Star Wars Yoda that's leading me to believe I might be murdered in my sleep by his tiny green form? Yes, his ears and eyes move, but do I really want to turn round and find they've shifted of their own accord?

In truth, it's the face. Yes, his lack of legs gives the impression he could be Slenderman-level tall. But Lego has had often had a problem getting Yoda's face right, as with this now-retired full-body model, and this new set is just as unsettling.

This bust has been compared to the animatronics from Five Nights at Freddy's and I can see the resemblance. Forget Dagobah, this Yoda set up shop in the uncanny valley. At least he does come with a smaller mini-figure version of himself, which can sit next to the plaque at Evil Yoda's base.

Yet despite, or perhaps because of this fear factor, I need this Lego Star Wars Yoda bust. In fact, I may just buy several, just to hit the $160 mark and get a free Lego Star Wars Darksaber.

As cool as Lego's previous model of The Mandalorian's N-1 starfighter was, this sleek, super-powered vessel deserved better. Now, Lego has stepped up with a UCS version of Mando's starfighter, and it looks fantastic.

Get this Lego UCS The Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter from Lego from May 4 (or May 1 for Lego insiders).

On top of the expected minifigures of Mando and Grogu, this model is absolutely packed with detail, from the tip of its nose cone to the rear of its overlocked engines. It's so sharp you could stab someone with it, though hopefully that's not why it's rated 18+.

But the best bit? If you're fast enough you'll get a free Lego Star Wars Darksaber set for spending over $160 on Lego Star Wars through Lego's site (this set costs a not-unreasonable $250).

What's not to love about The Mandalorian's N-1 starfighter, put together with the aid of Peli Motto? It looks stunning, is fast enough to leave a pair of X-Wings in the dirt, and has a special seat for Baby Yoda.

Made up of 1,809 pieces, the model is 27" (67cm) long and if you watched it being built in The Book of Boba Fett you'll recognise every fin and turbine. Lego has spared no expense in conveying the N-1's detail.

Throw in Lego minifigures of The Mandalorian and Grogu and you've got a ship that, despite its 18+ age rating, deserves to be swooshed around every room in your house.

Sorry, Darth Vader, as much as I love the Super Star Destroyer Executor, the Clone Wars-era Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser is my favorite Star Wars ship. And at 5,374 pieces and over a meter in length, this is an amazing craft to see recreated in Lego form.

Reviewing the Star Wars Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, Ian Stokes' had a blast building it, thanks to the wealth of varied techniques. only real complaint was the lack of an opening hangar bay. I snagged this last time there was a deal on this set and I'd have to agree.

It includes a pair of minifigures, Clone Wars characters Captain Rex and Admiral Yularen, along, with a plaque featuring facts and tech specs. The ship itself is packed with detail from turrets through to tiny shielded hangars.

Simply put, if you love Star Wars, you have the space and the money (significantly less thanks to this UK-only deal) you really can't go wrong.

Lego Star Wars' May the 4th 2026, the biggest Lego Star Wars shopping event of the year is almost upon us, running from May 1 to 6. Lego isn't messing around, as there are eight all-new Lego Star Wars sets already available, which launched a few days ahead of the event on April 26.

This year’s May the 4th releases cover a galaxy of Lego Star Wars wonders, including starship sets, iconic characters and busts, and of course, the highly collectable gifts-with-purchase bonus items.

With most of the new sets already available, you'll have to be quick to grab your favorites, as if previous years are anything to go by, they are likely to sell out faster than the Millennium Falcon making the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs (although technically speaking it was Han Solo, as he was the pilot).

But thankfully, Lego hasn't forgotten about the kids, as we can see from the suite of four new Education sets that it recently added to its line-up: Mars Mission Science Kit, Moon Mission Science Kit, Arctic Animals Science Kit, and Antarctic Animals Science Kit. You're reading this article on a space website, so I'll bet you can guess which two we picked up?

Out of the box, these are standard Lego sets: you get a bunch of numbered bags and some instructional books to help you build the kit. So far, so classic Lego, but there are some key differences once you start building.

For one thing, the sets have their own defined visual style, using a limited and unique color palette of teal, blue, white and pink. It's a small thing, but we like that the sets have their own visual identity.

Each instructional book is split into three stages: Build, Solve, Invent. The first stage features detailed instructions — a step-by-step guide, really — on how to assemble the vehicle or structure in question, but the latter two are delightfully vague. For these latter sections, you're given a rough suggestion of what to build and the pieces necessary to do it, and left to your own devices.

Now, as a 30-something man who long since had the creativity sapped out of him by life, this was mildly frustrating at first. I buy Lego sets because I appreciate the soothing satisfaction of following instructions to build something beautiful. But after a brief sulk, I remembered that I'm not the target audience for these sets; they're aimed at kids.

That created a problem for me, because I don't have a child. Fortunately, I was able to enlist the assistance of a friend's son at the cost of one babysitting session. For his privacy, we'll just call him Human Child One.

Human Child One and I had a great time building a couple of the experiments in the Mars Mission set. The first of these was a centrifuge, like those that astronauts use to simulate the high-gravity conditions of a rocket launch. Once the core structure was built, it was disappointingly lopsided, leaving our intrepid astronaut scraping along the ground.

That's where stage two of the build came in: Solve! This section gives you a bunch of bricks, and the instructions give you a vague idea of what you're trying to do, but stop short of actually telling you how to do it.

In this case, we were given a bunch of bricks and asked to balance out the spinner. Despite the lack of guidance, it's remarkable how intuitive this task was for the youngster, and it wasn't long before he'd restored balance to our spinner.

The final stage is called Invent, and the clue is in the name. You're shown a vague concept of something — a soccer goal, a radar station, or in this case, a spaceship for our spinning astronaut to sit in — and have to build it from an assortment of pieces. As a final wrinkle, we also had to rebalance the counterweight once our craft was completed. It's basically the Solve stage again, but with an object in mind rather than a mechanical process.

Each experiment within these sets is different, but they all follow the general pattern. Build a thing, then modify it to achieve a couple extra goals. I really like this concept. It gives some direction and context while still allowing your child's creativity to flourish.

Alongside the spinner, the Mars Mission set also contains a huge crane that drops supplies, a small base that must be protected from asteroid strikes by building an energy shield, and a Mars rover that can clear debris with a satisfying kick.

There's something very tactile, dynamic and even slapstick about a lot of these sets. There is always an interactive element to get the kids engaged. Between the catapults, slides and cranes, there are plenty of opportunities for the kind of crash-and-bang fun that young kids love. At the same time, this isn't chaos and destruction for the sake of it — each experiment comes with a mission for your youngster to solve.

The Moon Missions set isn't quite as flashy, containing only two experiments (and a moon house you can build). There is a rocket launch pad that uses a pivoting, spinning lever mechanism to simulate a blastoff from Earth to the moon.

It's kinda neat, and my nephew had a great time playing with it, but I suspect a 9-year-old would get bored with it quicker than the more dynamic sets. The other experiment is a moon base that requires a slide to transfer materials between zones. Again, it's neat, but it falls behind the Mars Mission set in terms of wow factor.

All of the sets in the range are recommended for kids aged 9+, but that might be a little cautious. I'm sure your 7- or 8-year-old will manage, especially if you build alongside them, but below that, they'll struggle. Still, while they might not be able to build the sets, younger kids can still enjoy playing with them. My 4-year-old nephew (Human Child Two), came over and was immediately enamored with the pivoting rocket launcher when he spotted it, and spent the rest of his visit bouncing the rocket between Earth and the moon.

So, mission success? Yeah, I think so. Lego's educational sets successfully blend the fun of building a regular Lego set with the experimentation and creativity of freeform Lego building, while also getting kids excited about science. They're not going to hold adults' attention, nor should they — we've got a $1,000 Death Star to spend our time and money on.

Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 2 is... still not on Disney+. That's the bad news. The good news is that if you're a fan of Lego, you can while the time away with this Lego Star Wars Clone Wars Ahsoka Tano Jedi Interceptor, now $9 off at Walmart. You can save on her younger self's craft, all without putting a penny in the evil emp... sorry, Amazon's pocket.

We've got an eye for the best Star Wars sets here at Space, and while this set won't exactly take up an entire table, it's still a seriously cool set, with both display and play potential. Aside from Ahsoka and her droid pal, it also comes with a minifigure of Anakin Skywalker, her mentor, whom she'd follow to the ends of the galaxy. Let's hope there are no nasty surprises in their future.

Aww... isn't Ahsoka just the cutest Jedi apprentice? At least that's how you're supposed to feel meeting her in the animated Clone Wars movie, but knowing that her master is going to turn into Darth Vader puts a damper on that.

Nevertheless, if you put that aside, you'll have a blast with this Lego Star Wars: Clone Wars Ahsoka Tano's Interceptor. There's plenty of play potential here, with minifigures of Ahsoka Tano herself, her droid and Anakin Skywalker. It's light enough that you can swoosh it round the room, and with spring-loaded shooters you can even get into dogfights with the evil Trade Federation.

Now, if only we could get an actual air date for Star Wars: Ashoka Season 2. We think Disney+ is one of the best streaming services for sci-fi fans but, nearly three years after Season 1 ended, we're getting a tad impatient.

I'm old enough that I'm practically turning to dust, so I can remember that launching a rocket involved a water-filled pop bottle and a foot pump. As a huge fan of Disney Plus's Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, I need this set and I need it now. And, thanks to Amazon's Big Spring Sale, it is $28 off. It's not just that the ship looks so cool and that it can fire a Death Star laser from its disc (I swear I'm not making this up), it's loaded with minifigures you can only get with this set.

Aside from the ones I've mentioned, there's evil bounty hunter C3P0, Darth Rey (last seen in The Rise of Skywalker) and Darth Dev. Darth Who? The short version, however, is that the Dark Falcon is from a galaxy where everything has changed, What If style. Available for purchase on April 1, Lego is releasing a Tintin Moon Rocket set, which is the toy brick manufacturer's first-ever Tintin set. Consisting of 1,283 pieces, it will include six minifigures (including Snowy the dog), all in spacesuits and helmets, and is largely designed for display purposes rather than play. Currently it's only listed on the Lego store site, but we anticipate launching on regular retailers like Amazon, Walmart and Target, too.

Naturally, we hope to get our hands on it and review it, so we can determine whether it's among the best Lego space sets out there. Standing at approximately 19.5 x 8 x 9 inches / 50 x 20 x 23 centimeters (H x L x W), it's going to stand out wherever you choose to display it and from initial looks, it looks like a fantastic nod to the iconic-looking rocket from Tintin's "Destination Moon" and "Explorers on the Moon" comics.

On release, this set will cost $159.99, which does seem quite a lot for a set containing 1,283 pieces — but this set is quite large, being designed for display, and does come with six minifigures. Naturally, we don't have much more information on the set outside of its proposed release date, key specs and a few images. However, our initial thoughts are that it would be a cool standalone model, or as part of a space collection, as Lego doesn't currently have any other Tintin sets available.

The set features the red and white paneling of the rocket from the Tintin comics, and there's more to it than meets the eye. You can remove the rocket's cone to reveal an internal control room, packed with detail, which has enough room to pose a minifigure inside.

This rocket is a nod to the Tintin comics, where Tintin, his dog, Snowy and others travel to the moon and explore the lunar surface. The six minifigures included are: Tintin, Captain Haddock, Thomson and Thompson, Professor Calculus and Snowy. And, while you can't currently preorder it, or put it in your basket, it will be available to buy from April 1 and we expect it to be popular.

We're hoping that the release of the Tintin Moon Rocket set continues a trend we like with Lego. We recently saw Lego release its first-ever Star Trek set, the U.S.S. Enterprise, and now, with its first-ever Tintin set, we hope to see more Lego firsts for franchises and titles it hasn't previously made sets for.

So you want to launch a model rocket but have never done so? It must be difficult, right? It is rocket science, after all…

Fortunately, there are kits today that make it as easy as just opening the box, loading in an engine and finding a safe place from where to fly. Of course, there are also beginner's kits — some of which are profiled below — that include basic, step-by-step assembly instructions, adding to what many find fun and challenging about the model rocketry hobby.

Estes Rockets NASA SLS

So you are eager to get started and just want to skip to the launch — well, why not start with NASA's next-generation heavy-lift rocket that will send the next astronauts to the moon?

Estes Industries has taken one of the most complex engineering challenges and simplified it to a scale model that practically anyone can fly. The SLS (Space Launch System) comes out of the box pre-assembled and pre-painted. In fact, it can double as a display model worthy of any office or space enthusiast's room.

Pre-launch preparations are as easy as attaching the included transparent fins and loading the rocket with an Estes C6-3 engine (sold separately). You will also need a launch pad and controller, which can be used with most, if not all, of the rockets you will build and fly.

Estes Rockets Alpha III

Compatible with A, B and C-class engines, the Alpha III requires only glue and other common household tools (for example, scissors) to create a rocket that flies as high as 1,150 feet (350 meters). The body tube, nose cone and fins come in attractive black and orange colors and the set includes stickers to add to the decorations.

The Alpha III kit also introduces the basic assembly of the engine mount and recovery system (parachute) the will become the basis for many other more advanced rockets.

Estes's Alpha III rocket sports a striking orange aesthetic along with a lightweight and slender design, which helps to create an awesome look as it soars through the air. It's compatible with several Estes engines and would be great fun for any beginner getting into model rocketry.

Estes Rockets Journey Launch Set

If you want the simplicity of the Alpha III with an all-in-one out-of-the-box solution, the Journey is the set for you. Its high altitude, low weight and launch set make it a fun and engaging experience for beginners.

The kit not only includes a rocket designed for the beginner, with the same ease to build, but also the Porta-Pad II and Electron Beam Launch Controller, so you can launch as soon as you complete assembly! (Not included, but needed are engines, AA batteries, recovery wadding and starters, sold separately).

There's no reason this wouldn't be a good option for more experienced users, either, but with everything you need to launch, a maximum altitude of over 1000 feet and a striking aesthetic, this rocket is a top choice for beginners.

Estes Rockets Rascal & Hijinks Launch Set

This set takes the best of the ready-to-fly kits, doubles it to include two rockets and includes the launch pad from which to set them soaring! Pre-painted and with unique decals, the Rascal & HiJinks are perfect if you and a friend (or two siblings) want to share in the fun, or you just want the quick enjoyment of two launches in succession.

You still need the extras as identified with the Journey Launch Set, like the engines and recovery wadding, but there is no assembly required.

Just like the Journey Launch set, the Rascal and Hijinks set from Estes wouldn't go amiss for more experienced flyers. But, you get a 2-in-1, it's ready to launch, minus a couple of extras, and with a low weight and a cool look, it's great fun and a top choice for beginners.

Stomp Rocket Ultra Rockets

Naturally, beginners include young kids and Stomp Rockets are ideal for little ones as they're a great entry point into what model rockets can do.

Made of plastic and foam, and without the need for electronics, engines, explosives and any cords and sharp parts, kids can get their hands on and launch a colorful rocket up to 200 feet in the air.

It's a great STEM kit and all it takes is for someone to stomp (or jump) on the pad, which will send a jet of air through a tube into the launch stand and propel the rocket up into the air. Of course, it's aimed at younger kids and an adult looking to launch a model rocket would become bored with this fairly quickly, but it's a great starting point for young ones and it's safe for them to use.

National Geographic Power Rocket

Another top, safe-for-kids option, the National Geographic Power Rocket uses a motorized propeller to take off and simulate a launch, without the need for ignition or explosives.

There's no hiding that this is better suited to kids rather than adults looking to take their first steps into model rocketry, but with three different modes, a maximum altitude of 200 feet and a rechargeable battery that will power 20 flights on a single charge, it's hard to look past this rocket as a top option.

The real plus side of this rocket is that it simulates the excitement of a launch thanks to its motor; it's made of safe materials, so kids can get hands-on and you don't need recovery wadding as a secondary rotor extends out on descent, which allows it to return to the ground safely. It's an inexpensive, safe and engaging way to get kids excited about model rocketry.

Meanwhile, the Lego Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System set is best suited to builders who want their sets to have a little action. Not only does the completed set 'lift' off from the launch pad, but the Technic mechanism also shows it losing its booster rockets. It's significantly cheaper than the Ideas set, £44 compared to £187.

If you're buying for another adult, the Lego Ideas NASA Artemis Space Launch System is the model to go for, because it's a near-perfect recreation of the actual launch system. It also boasts a few interactive features, such as a moving gantry and it's a bit of a monster, overall.

But if you're buying for a younger builder, or for educational purposes, the Lego Technic Artemis Space Launch System is the one to go for. Neither set comes with full-sized minifigures, but the Technic set has four nano-style figures, placed at the base of the rocket and has some nifty interactive features.

Thanks to a built-in mechanism, you can watch the Technic rocket soar high, dropping its booster rockets. Admittedly, it might be a problem if the real Artemis II releases its boosters that early, but it's a fun, fascinating feature. Just hurry, because we'd expect these deals to sell out soon. The Lego Icons Artemis set is currently on back order at Lego.com and that's at full price!

We rank both of these amongst the best Lego NASA sets and the best Lego space sets, so your biggest challenge is going to be deciding which one to get! Why not buy both? That's certainly an option, but if money is an issue, the Lego Technic Artemis Space Launch System is cheaper at £44.

What's not to love about this Lego Star Wars UCS Death Star set? The £900 price tag, mainly, but thanks to Amazon UK's Spring Deal Days, you can save 15% on this set, which translates to a wallet-pleasing £135 off.

A vertical slice of the original Death Star, with a few scenes from Return of the Jedi thrown in, we think it's one of the best Lego Star Wars UCS sets. It boasts an astonishing 38 minifigures and is split into sections, each of the figures acting out a scene from the movie, such as Luke swinging through the Death Star with Leia. Probably best not to think about that kiss, though.

With just over 9,000 pieces, it'll take you more than an afternoon to put together and, rated for builders aged 18+, it's not a child-friendly build. Measuring at 28 in (70cm) and 32 in (79cm) tall, it's a monster. But, there's some play potential here, but we'd suggest you supervise any Star Wars adventures since, while stable, we still worry about younger builders being too rough and having this topple over.

But if you're an adult fan of Lego, Star Wars, or both, this is an absolutely stunning piece. Just grab it while you can; Star Wars is popular, and we expect this deal to join the Force soon. Lego Icons Artemis Space Launch System

In our review of the Lego Icons Artemis Space Launch System, we remarked that "Lego has knocked it out of the park and into orbit with this fantastic recreation of the Artemis Space Launch System," and that still stands. This is the most realistic Lego rocket currently available and a fantastic buy, despite its $269.99 price.

We did find minor elements of its build a little repetitive, but that's unavoidable given the nature of the Artemis and its launch pad. It's an absolutely massive set, shy of just 28-inches, so you'll need a significant amount of space to display it.

But it's well worth clearing off a table just to show this off. It's an absolutely stunning set, packed with detail, and, on the whole, a delight to build. When you've got the Artemis on display, after an afternoon or so of work, you'll be so glad you put the effort in.

Lego Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft

Whether you're a fan of Boeing's iconic 747 jet, the late Space Shuttle programme or both, this set is an absolute treat. You'll need plenty of space to accommodate its 63 cm wingspan, but this is an entertaining build.

Packed with detail, it looks excellent on display, and you've got the flexibility to mix things up. You can separate the shuttle from the 747, put the landing gear down and, in the case of the shuttle, stow its gear away in the cargo bay.

The latter does mean it doesn't have the same accessories Lego's now-retired Space Shuttle Discovery set has, but it nails everything else about the shuttle and the plane that ferried around the world on many occasions. Our only gripe is that it has a few too many stickers, but it's worth persisting just to see this NASA-branded pairing, perched on your table.

Lego Technic NASA Mars Rover Perseverance

Ever wanted to go to Mars? This set is the next best thing, a realistic Lego recreation of the NASA Mars Rover Perseverance, through the medium of Lego Technic. Not only does it mirror the real-life Mars Rover's appearance, but it's also packed with play-friendly features.

That's not to say you should subject this to repeated and violent play, but in our Lego Technic NASA Mars Rover Perseverance review, we called it "a wonderful piece of Lego engineering that should please Lego space fans of all ages."

It offers amazing attention to detail, with plenty of features and moving parts, including actual working suspension, allowing the rover to ride over rough surfaces. It also won't cost you $2.7 billion, either, priced at a much fairer $99.99. It's a blast to build, looks suitably striking on display and has just enough play-potential to boot.

Lego Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket

Is the Lego Icons Artemis' $200+ asking price too rich for your blood? Or maybe you're looking for something with a little more interactivity. That's where the Lego Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket comes in.

This sub-$60 set is still striking to look at, but it has the addition of being educational with it. Using the (slightly loose) crank, you can make it blast off the launching pad, losing its booster rockets as it goes.

Throw in four astronaut nanofigures, and you've got a set that's far more play-friendly than its pricier sibling, and the flames spewing from its engines add an extra-eyecatching touch to this play and display friendly model. Despite its 9+ age rating, there are challenging elements, but the results are well worth it.

Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Astronaut

What's better than getting a new Lego set? Getting three Lego sets in 1, which is where this Lego Creator Space Astronaut set comes in. It's not strictly a NASA set but it's main mode is a close approximation of an actual astronaut, out on a spacewalk.

It's cool to look at and poseable with it, down to its arms and fingers. You can also transform the astronaut into a sleek space jet and a spacesuit-wearing dog, though the instructions are slightly too simplistic.

The astronaut's stand means you can have it 'floating' in mid-air, and the red and blue stripes, with a little gray to boot, add extra life to their costume. In our review of the Lego Creator 3-in-1 Astronaut, we called it "An iconic Lego space set that we're absolutely proud to have on our shelves," and you won't regret snapping this up either.

Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Shuttle

Like the previous Lego Creator 3-in-1 set, this doesn't bear the NASA branding, but it's unmistakably a Space Shuttle, complete with its own satellite to launch into orbit. And at $9.99, this is a great buy if you're looking for a cheap gift for a space enthusiast.

Shuttle mode aside, you can transform this set into a space fighter or an astronaut, both of which are cool bonuses. But it's the Space Shuttle, with its glowing orange engines, that would be our first choice for play, if we were so inclined.

At just under 150 pieces, this can be easily assembled by little fingers, rated as it is for builders aged 6 or over. Despite its size, you can also open up its cargo bay, adding another dimension to play.

Retired but still available Lego sets (grab them while you can)

Lego retires sets after a period of time, meaning they stop manufacturing them and no new stock enters the market. The following retired sets are still available and are worth picking up, though some may be pricier than usual due to their scarcity.

Lego Technic NASA Apollo Lunar Roving Vehicle

Based on the actual Apollo Lunar Rover, this set may have been retired but, if you're fast, you can snap it up at Amazon without paying an exhorbitant price. And, while it's not the most beginner-friendly set, it's a treat for anyone who wants to revisit days on the moon.

And, while we wouldn't recommend young builders try putting it together solo, there's some play potential here. The set, which is a display-friendly size, comes with plastic moon rock, buildable communications unit, heating and cooling elements. Plus, it boasts working steering and suspension.

If you're adult Lego fan looking for a Space-themed project, you can't go wrong with this Apollo Lunar Rover, which is as accurate as you could hope for given its size. Just hurry, because we'd expect its price to skyrocket once stocks get scarcer.

Lego Creator Expert NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander

Available for a reasonable price, considering it's a retired set, this Lego Apollo 11 lander is an excellent way to mark man's return to the moon. It's an accurate replica of the vehicle that touched down on the lunar surface, followed shortly by Neil Armstrong's exit and famous line.

In our review of the Lego Apollo 11 Lunar Lander, we were impressed by its display value, as well as the two relatively scarce Lego astronauts it came with. Unfortunately, we did find that it felt a little flimsy.

However, if you can live with that, and you share our love for all things lunar, it's a great piece to have sitting on your shelf, a reminder of one of mankind's grandest achievements. Just remember, as a retired set, it's only going to get more expensive, so grab this Lego Apollo 11 Lunar Lander set while you can.

Lego Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V

As impressive as NASA's Artemis launch system is, it has a long way to go to eclipses the fame of the Saturn V, the rocket that took the original Apollo 11 mission to the moon. And, thanks to this superb set, you can own your own Lego Ideas Saturn V rocket.

It's a seriously impressive set and, as we noted in our Lego Ideas Saturn V review, it's completely sticker-free. As much as we love the Lego Icons Shuttle Carrier set, we'd take pre-printed bricks over stickers any day.

It's a speedy build and while some parts are repetitive, it's clearly marked into sections so you can share the job with a friend. You'll need some space to display it - at 1m high, no-one's going to miss this set! Rocket aside, it comes with a tiny model of the Apollo 11 lunar lander and landing capsule, which is a neat touch.

The one catch is that since it's retired, you can expect to pay at least twice the RRP to get your hands on it. But with a set this striking it may well be worth the outlay to own a Lego recreation of this historic rocket.

Lego International Space Station review

The International Space Station only has a few years before it's deorbited and crashes to Earth. That's all the more reason to celebrate its 20 years of space-based research with this shelf-dominating Lego Ideas International Space Station set.

This now-retired set depicts the ISS in all its glory and, for scale, includes small models of the Space Shuttle, satellites and three micro-sale astronauts. It's impossible to miss thanks to its huge solar panels which make this model over half-a-meter wide.

It's impressively accurate, nailing the appearance of the ISS. In our review of the Lego Ideas International Space Station we called it "An excellent display piece that space fans should love." The panels do make it a little repetitive to build, and a tad fragile too, but if you're a fan of the International Space Station, it's a worthy addition to your space-themed Lego collection.

Lego Icons NASA Space Shuttle Discovery

The Space Shuttle programme is behind us, but that's no reason to forget about it. It changed how NASA operated in space for over 30 years and was instrumental in building the ISS. This Lego NASA Space Shuttle Discovery is the best Lego model of the Space Shuttle we've seen even though, like the Shuttle itself, it's now retired.

It does have a few too many stickers for our taste, but that's a small price to pay for this seriously impressive replica. Aside from looking fantastic, it has real play potential, with several moving parts including its famous robotic arm.

On top of that, it's effectively two models, the Space Shuttle and the Hubble Space Telescope, which can be stored inside its cargo bay, or displayed separately. In our review of the Lego Icons Space Shuttle Discovery set we said it was "A beautiful kit that’s not only fun to build, but zenful too," and that still stands.

As a retired set you may have to pay over the RRP to get your hands on it, but you won't be disappointing when you've got this Lego slice of history sitting on your shelf.

The Lego Technic planet earth and moon in orbit space set ticks all my boxes and then some. When I was looking for a model of the moon's orbit around earth I first looked for fully-assembled scientific models that I could keep on my desk to show my young nephews.

But after a little internet sleuthing, I realized many of these models are fragile, large and cumbersome to younger space scientists. So naturally I turned to Lego. This 526-piece Technic set does several things absolutely amazingly. The set is full of gearing that must be accurately but easily assembled, with shafts and spindles that rotate, all basic engineering knowledge that is fun to acquire (at any age, I might add!).

Next, the set itself is quite accurate. No, it's not the perfectly-to-scale model I was looking for at the beginning, but that was never really feasible for keeping in the home anyway. With a crank of the handle the earth orbits the sun, and the moon round the earth too, but the sun also revolves and so mimics the real-life movements. A month sticker wraps around the circular base and a handy indicator shows where you are in the year, to help explain why summer and winter comes to the northern hemisphere when it does.

I bought this with my own money and I love it. It's fun to put together on your own or as part of a group and better yet, it's scientifically informative and beautiful at the same time.

Lego planet earth and moon in orbit: Build

• This 526-piece build is more complex than larger-piece sets
• Some pieces need to be looked at carefully
• A multi-night build for those that start late

This 526-piece build was so fun to do. It took a couple of us two nights in all because we started late on the first night and I'd recommend you split it, too. Not because I don't believe in you, but because there are so many fascinating aspects to the engineering of each piece that I found myself stopping to study what each part was doing.

The instruction booklet is easy to follow but there are some fiddly little pieces in there that can be oriented one way or another. These orientations, for the large part, didn't seem to make any operative difference but I enjoyed squinting at them all the same to keep visual consistency throughout the set. Which, if you're a stickler for details, you'll find yourself doing as well.

It comes with four sealed bags (labeled one through four) and comes with the sun, earth and moon shells and the feet separately contained in clear bags. The instructions are also broken up into four sections and meticulously demonstrate how to identify which piece you need according to a scale in the booklet. This was helpful for me because I spotted several near-identical pieces that had slight length differences.

I started by constructing the base, first by collating the pieces into shape, size and color and then sharing it with my fellow builder on the table. Working as a pair seemed to go fairly smoothly because we were able to pick up on any erroneous orientations fairly quickly, mostly spotting each other's mistakes, which sped up the build.

I had at least two instances where some of the set had to be disassembled because we realized that we missed a piece and I'd encourage you to check each page carefully before moving on to the next. Doing this too many times can lead to frustration, especially as you build into the night and get more tired.

Getting those first pieces together on the base is really satisfying. A big part of the model is put together fairly soon and I could see it encouraged us to carry on. I would recommend starting and stopping on a new bag of pieces if you're carrying this across multiple days or nights. Depending on how your brain works or what you have going on during the day, it might be a little complex to carry over half-done and it would be easy to forget exactly where you are.

As soon as I got the geared arm pieced together and assembled the earth, moon and sun shells the excitement levels pumped up massively. A small rotation of the handle slewed this whole set around in a satisfying (but quiet) whirr. Getting the stickers in place and finally seeing the moon orbiting the earth, and the earth revolving and also orbiting the sun was incredibly satisfying, but spotting that the sun revolved too was a welcome surprise.

At just 9-inches tall and 12.5-inches wide it isn't the biggest Lego set you can own by a long shot, but while it will fit on a bookshelf it probably won't fully rotate without crashing into something. Therefore, I'd recommend keeping this on a work desk or similar.

The sturdy rubber feet keep the rotating set from shuffling across the table, which is important because as I rotated the handle I could feel a fair amount of torque running through the set's gears. Picking up and moving this set is no problem despite its apparent fragility and even after moving it from room to room several times over the course of a few months, not a single piece has broken off.

I closely inspected the paint on the earth shells and was pleasantly surprised to see that they are quite accurate, able to pick out North America from Canada and I was even able to spot the UK. Polar caps are noted with white, more temperate landscapes with green and drier areas with a light tan sand color. Impressive stuff.

The moon is featureless but, considering it's smaller than my little fingernail, I was expecting this. The sun is featureless too but, aside from some sun spots that always shift on the real thing, to our eyes it's relatively accurate as well (please, never look directly at the sun).

Here's how the set moves: The sun revolves in the center, the earth orbits the sun and revolves through its day, and the moon orbits the earth. The moon does not revolve. The earth is tilted on its axis to, seemingly, the same degree as in real life.

Aside from its engineering beauty the stickers and indicators are what really make this set stand out to me, and are the reason why I bought this over a scientific model. Around the orange circumference of the main base, I applied stickers with the months of the year. A gold indicator glides over the top to demonstrate at what point in the year the earth is orbiting relative to its tilted axis.

For example, I headed round to June and could see that the northern hemisphere was tilted towards the sun which is accurate because this is when the northern hemisphere experiences the summer solstice. A wind round through to December showed the southern hemisphere pitched toward the sun, again showing the summer solstice again but for the southern hemisphere (and winter solstice for the north).

Should you buy Lego Technic planet earth and moon in orbit?

I would 100% recommend you buy the Lego planet earth and moon in orbit space set. It's an ideal price for a birthday or holiday gift, the build is fun and even better with more than one person, and it's full of engineering assembly. To top it all off, it's a fairly accurate working model of how the earth orbits the sun and how the moon orbits the earth and it looks fantastic.

In my experience it's durable enough to be moved between rooms, light enough to pop on a shelf and is fun and informative right from the moment I opened the box to the second I show my nephews how it works. They even enjoy turning the handle even when they've had enough of their uncle rambling on about barycenters and ecliptics.

Other Lego sets to consider

The complex engineering side of this Technics set might not be for everyone, and that's okay. 1,000 Lego astronauts traveled near the edge of space on stratospheric balloons and returned safely to Earth on a specially designed landing platform resembling a mini space shuttle.

The Legonauts took off from a small airport in Slovakia on Saturday, May 20, seated in a roofless 3D-printed space shuttle-like vehicle made of a sturdy but lightweight carbon composite material. The shuttle was built by a team of space architects and engineers from Slovakia and the Czech Republic who are passionate about inspiring future generations to learn about space, Tomas Rousek, an architect at XTEND DESIGN, who led the project, told Space.com.

The Lego astronaut minifigures took off on three separate stratospheric balloons in batches of about 330 per flight. The balloons took the mini-spacefarers to an altitude of 21 miles (34 kilometers) before they burst. The landing platforms then returned to Earth under parachutes.

According to Dominik Matusinsky, an executive at marketing agency Kreativ Gang that produced the campaign for Lego, the team had to make sure that none of the astronauts fell off the open-air shuttle during the early stages of the platform's descent. 

"To make the [Lego] figures stay on the space shuttle after the balloon burst was a major challenge," Matusinky told Space.com in an email. "We wanted [the figures] to be exposed directly to space, not to be stored inside anything. But during the free fall stage [before the parachute opened], they experienced speeds of up to 300 km/h [186 mph], so that was a challenge."

For the balloons to comfortably lift off, the whole platform including its passengers had to weigh no more than 6 pounds (2.7 kilograms).

"The challenge was to build the space shuttle as lightweight as possible," added Rousek. "We ended up making it from carbon fiber, 3D printed stainless steel and plastic."

Two cameras filmed the rides: One monitoring the crew compartment;, the other attached to a boom filming a view of the entire platform.

The Lego astronauts will now be put up as a prize in a drawing in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for anyone who buys and registers a new Lego set.

Kylo Ren

We took one look at the Lego Star Wars Kylo Ren helmet when it was first announced and sighed. Wrongly, of course: We assumed those markings on the helmet's face would be stickers — and we hate stickers. But it turns out they are printed pieces, and that fact alone makes Kylo Ren one of the best Lego Star Wars helmets you can buy.

Like all helmets, Kylo Ren is built upon a sturdy black base. There's a lot of black pieces here, in fact, which makes for a rather repetitive building process, but that's the nature of Kylo Ren's get up. Can't have a colorful villain, can you? (Darth Maul notwithstanding.)

It's a shame that there's not a slightly higher piece count here — at 529 pieces, it's smaller than most other Lego Star Wars helmets. But everything is perfectly formed, and it's instantly recognizable as Kylo Ren, so we certainly can't complain too much.

Jango Fett

One of the newest Lego Star Wars helmets to come to store shelves, we can't help but love Boba Fett. OK, it might look rather similar to Jango Fett, who in turn looks rather similar to The Mandalorian, but the fact each set has its own individual colorway makes them all, in our opinion, worth adding to your collection. Besides, they look really neat all stood side-by-side.

Lego Star Wars Boba Fett helmet is a nice, straightforward build that will feel very familiar if you've built one of the aforementioned helmets. Like the rest of the series, you'll start by building a sturdy black base and then work systematically to add more details to the frame.

The result is a helmet that is unmistakably Jango Fett. It's a shame there are a few stickers used here, but they are very small (above the eye visor of the helmet) so they're easy enough to place — and if you do end up getting them wonky, it's not the end of the world.

AT-AT Driver

Of all characters in Star Wars, an AT-AT Driver probably comes quite far down the list of 'memorability'. Sure, they're there — someone's got to control the AT-ATs, obviously — but before Lego released the AT-AT Driver Helmet, we wouldn't have been able to tell you what they look like.

Despite that, this is actually one of our favorite Lego Star Wars Helmets. It packs in more detail than most, and makes use of some really neat building techniques. It's instantly recognizable as a Star Wars helmet, but is different enough that it still has its own unique features.

Be warned, though: if you're in the UK, the AT-AT Driver Helmet is £10 more expensive than the last few helmets: £69.99 instead of £59.99. In the US, it's the same price: $69.99.

The Mandalorian

Looking at the Lego Star Wars The Mandalorian Helmet, you can almost hear Din Djarin’s gruff but lovable voice coming out of it. All it’s missing is a little Grogu peering over its shoulder, but we can’t have everything.

It’s perhaps a bit unexciting in its color choices, but it does accurately represent The Mandalorian’s real armour. And accents of shiny silver bricks running across the top of the helmet and above the visor really do wonders to add a pop of detail. Darth Vader

Since he first stepped foot onto our screens in 1977, Darth Vader has become an icon of not only Star Wars, but cinema as a whole. One of the most iconic outfits and helmets of all time, it’s only natural that Darth Vader has received many Lego recreations. This Lego Star Wars set captures his helmet well, but there’s a bit of a problem. While Darth Vader’s helmet is legendary, it’s almost entirely black which makes it a bit of a boring build, and also somewhat confusing.

Although it’s repetitive and a bit dull to build, when it’s finished it does look very regal. Positioning the Lego Star Wars Darth Vader Helmet next to the others in the Star Wars build-to-display series would make for a fantastic, well, display. Don’t believe us? Captain Rex

If you've already got the (now discontinued) Lego Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmet, you might be a little put off Captain Rex: the two are very similar in their construction, after all. But Captain Rex's unique blue accents really make this helmet stand out.

It's an excellent build - and it's also the biggest Star Wars helmet in terms of piece count currently available. So: not only does it look fantastic, but it also offers excellent value for money. Definitely one of the best Lego Star Wars helmets you can currently pick up.

Retired Lego Star Wars Helmets

In this section, you'll find a round-up of all Lego Star Wars helmets that have been discontinued. Lego sets don't last forever, and these have all been retired into the archives.

Don't worry, though: they're still available from resellers and, if you're lucky, perhaps a third-party retailer. But be prepared to pay a premium: Lego sets generally go up in value once they've been retired.

Clone Commander Cody

It's hard to find fault with the Lego Star Wars Clone Commander Cody Helmet. Sure, like Captain Rex, you could say it's a little too similar to a regular Stormtrooper. But this one has a multitude of details to set it apart. There's the fantastic bright orange highlights, for example, and the carefully constructed plume on the head. The helmet itself is also uniquely shaped, perfectly replicating the real Clone Commander Cody's armor.

We can't even complain about the set having too many stickers: sure, there are a couple, but they aren't front-and-center. Ultimately, Clone Commander Cody is a wonderful addition to any Lego Star Wars helmets collection: it's undoubtedly one of the best released so far.

Princess Leia (Boushh)

Remember the scene in Return of the Jedi where Princess Leia has to sneak into Jabba the Hutt's palace? Well, this Boushh helmet is what she wore during that scene. It might not be as iconic as, say, Luke Skywalker's Red Five helmet or Darth Vader's, then, but don't let that put you off: this is one of our favorite Lego Star Wars helmets so far thanks to how unique it is.

The building process is completely different from any other, making this an engaging and fun experience. And the finished model is fantastic: it looks just like the real thing, and packs in so many great little details.

Luke Skywalker (Red Five)

The Lego Star Wars Luke Skywalker (Red Five) Helmet stands out from the crowd because, unlike the rest of the Lego Star Wars helmet collection, it's not got a full mask. This helmet is actually hollow, but rather than detract from the aesthetic, it adds to it.

It's not quite perfect: the shape of the visor of the helmet isn't exactly right compared with Luke's helmet from the movie. But it's hardly a big complaint, and doesn't detract from how excellent this set looks. We particularly love that it features a variety of unique printed pieces - a rarity amongst these helmets.

Dark Trooper

Dark Troopers are perhaps the most fearsome-looking of all Imperial battle droids - and it's safe to say that Lego has perfectly captured that ferocity in its design of the Lego Star Wars Dark Trooper helmet. It's a little smaller than most other helmets, thanks to the shape of the Dark Trooper's armor.

It's also perhaps not the most engaging build thanks to being nothing but a sea of black bricks. But that can't be helped when the result is an authentic replica of an actual Dark Trooper helmet. The red eyes - which appear to glow when the light catches them just right - really finishes this display piece off.

Boba Fett

Lego Star Wars Boba Fett was part of the first wave of Lego helmets to come along back in 2020. First to come, and one of the first to go, as Boba Fett is now retired. It's still a sought-after helmet, thanks to its iconic design and fantastic colour scheme.

This is a robust set that makes a wonderful display piece - but if it's not already in your collection you'll have to pay a premium to pick it up.

Stormtrooper

Is there anything more iconic in the Star Wars universe than a Stormtrooper? We'd argue probably not, and that's what makes the Lego Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmet one of the best in the series. Sure, it might be rather monochromatic, but it's faithful to the original Stormtrooper design and still manages to pack in a lot of detail and texture.

Clever building techniques mean it's a fun build, too. It's just a shame that if you want to pick it up now, you're going to have to pay way more than RRP.

Scout Trooper

Considering the Lego Star Wars Scout Trooper Helmet is the smallest of all the helmets released so far, it's not really surprising that this set hasn't gained much value since retiring.

It's not the most inspiring-looking helmet either, although perhaps that's a flaw of the Scout Trooper armor design rather than the Lego set itself. But next to the Stormtrooper Helmet, this looks a little blocky and basic. Still, if you're looking to complete your collection, at least picking this one up won't break the bank.

TIE Fighter Pilot

The first Lego Star Wars helmet to be retired from store shelves, the Lego Star Wars TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet is now one of the most valuable. According to Bricklink valuations, if you've got a new one of these laying around, it's now worth an average of $310/£250. Phew! That's quite a leap over its $60/£55 RRP.

It's a shame the TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet didn't stay around for very long, because it's one of the most unique Lego Star Wars helmets around. Its tubing detail makes it stand out - as does its printed round plates on the head. Those two pieces alone are likely the reason this set is so expensive to pick up second-hand: those pieces were specially created for the TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet and can't be found anywhere else.

A former NASA engineer who became the first Mexican-born woman to fly into space now has a one-of-a-kind Barbie doll attesting to her being a role model for the next generation of scientists and explorers.

Katya "Kat" Echazarreta is one of seven female science, technology, engineering and technology (STEM) leaders chosen by Mattel to be immortalized as a Barbie doll in celebration of International Women's Day on Wednesday (March 8). The other honorees include the former chief executive officer of YouTube, the founder of 23andME and Maggie Aderin-Pocock, a UK-based space scientist and science educator.

"STEM is a field where women are severely underrepresented and our hope is that honoring these seven leaders in science and technology will encourage girls to follow their passion in this field," Lisa McKnight, executive vice president and global head of Barbie and Dolls at Mattel, said in statement. "This International Women's Day, we're proud to continue our work in closing the Dream Gap and reminding girls of their limitless potential."

The honorees will be featured on Mattel's Barbie role models website and as part of a special episode of the Barbie "You Can Be Anything" digital series. Each of the women have been presented with the doll they inspired. The dolls will not be produced for sale to the public.

"Barbie is dedicated to showcasing women who are role models from all backgrounds, professions and nationalities so that girls around the world can see themselves in careers that might not always seem as accessible," said McKnight.

"Thank you Barbie for inviting me to be a part of the role models campaign!" said Echazarreta in a social media post on Tuesday. "I used to play with my dolls and pretend they were traveling the galaxy!"

Born in Mexico, Echazarreta moved to the U.S. with her family when she was eight years old. She earned her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) while interning at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena. Later, she accepted a position as engineer and worked on five missions, including the Perseverance rover now on Mars and Europa Clipper, which is set to be launched to Jupiter's moon in 2024.

On June 4, 2022, Echazarreta lifted off on a 10-minute suborbital spaceflight on Blue Origin's New Shepard launch vehicle. In addition to being the first Mexican-born woman to cross the boundary between Earth and space, Echazarreta was also the first "citizen astronaut" to fly in a seat sponsored by the non-profit Space for Humanity.

Echazarreta's Barbie doll portrays her wearing her Space for Humanity flight suit, complete with a miniature version of the mission patch designed for her flight.

"Having founded Space for Humanity in 2016, the goal was to democratize access to space and inspire the next generation of STEM students. I never dreamed the logo would grace a Barbie doll, but am grateful the mission has gone mainstream," Dylan Taylor, chairman and CEO of Voyager Space Holdings and a fellow Blue Origin passenger who launched aboard New Shepard in 2021, posted on Twitter.

Currently, Echazarreta is pursuing her master's in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University. She is also helping inspire girls and young women through her TV appearances and on her TikTok channel, where her videos have been viewed millions of times.

Fellow Barbie role model Aderin-Pocock also became known for her appearances on BBC's "The Sky at Night" and "Stargazing" TV shows.

The newly-appointed chancellor of the University of Leicester in England, Aderin-Pocock earlier helped build a spectrograph for the Gemini Observatory in Chile to study stellar populations and helped develop the observation instruments for the European Space Agency's (ESA) Aeolus satellite, which was the first mission to acquire profiles of Earth's wind on a global scale. She also worked on the James Webb Space Telescope prior to its launch.

Aderin-Pocock's Barbie doll has her sporting a purple star-dotted dress and has a telescope on a tripod as an accessory.

"When I was little, Barbie didn't look like me, so to have one created in my likeness is mind-boggling," Aderin-Pocock told BBC News. "It's such an honor to receive this doll that is celebrating my achievements."

Echazarreta and Aderin-Pocock are the latest members of the space exploration and astronomy community to be recognized as role models by Mattel. Previous real-life women to inspire their own Barbie dolls include NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson, Russian cosmonaut Anna Kikina and astronauts Sally Ride of NASA and Samantha Cristoforetti of ESA.

A virtual reality challenge seeks to help prepare astronauts for Red Planet living.

NASA opened a new Mars challenge today (Feb. 16) in partnership with crowdsourcing platform HeroX, along with Fortnite maker Epic Games and simulation company Buenda. They need your help to create a virtual reality environment to "replicate the experiences and situations astronauts may encounter on Mars," the entities stated in a press release.

Mars is a challenging environment compared to Earth, which is why NASA is looking for software to simulate various aspects of a Red Planet mission. Martian gravity is just 40% as strong as Earth's, for example, and weather conditions are dusty and windy. Even the daylight is strange, with "the orange hues of day transitioning to blue at night," the release added.

Around $70,000 of prize money is available to share between up to 15 participants who pass two phases: the first to build a storyboard concept and the next to create a virtual reality environment showing how Mars living may work.

The challenge, dubbed MarsXR 2, is a sequel experience to another challenge that was completed in 2022. The previous challenge focused on extravehicular activities, or excursions by spacesuited astronauts on the Martian surface. Full eligibility details for the new challenge are available on the HeroX website.

"We are launching this sequel challenge to engage a greater number of thinkers and creators," Kal Sahota, CEO of HeroX, said in the statement. "We had a lot of success with the first challenge, and with this storyboard option, we expect even more innovative ideas and a broader audience of participants."

HeroX and NASA have run numerous space challenges over the years, including a 2022 data-analysis effort seeking evidence of life on Mars. 

NASA has no immediate plans to put people on the Red Planet; the agency's deep-space crewed efforts are currently working to land people on the moon with the Artemis program as soon as 2025. NASA views the moon as a stepping stone to Mars, however; the agency is tentatively targeting a crewed Mars landing in the late 2030s or early 2040s, depending on funding and technology developments.

A Lego fan got an early start on launching a new rocket line.

Jackson Armstrong, who enjoys photographing rocket launches and building Lego models, rendered his own version of United Launch Alliance's (ULA) Vulcan Centaur rocket in brick form and shared the results on Twitter Sunday (Jan. 29).

"This design features the shiny new paint scheme and the payload fairing as it will appear on the first orbital flight," wrote Armstrong. That debut mission will loft two prototype internet satellites for Amazon's Project Kuiper, as well as the Peregrine moon lander built by the company Astrobotic. 

Armstrong did not share dimensions or details on his Lego build, which appears to exist only in computer-generated drawings for the time being. If he moves forward to a tabletop version, we'll be sure to let you know.

The real-life Vulcan Centaur rocket recently made it to Florida's Space Coast, arriving aboard ULA's RocketShip barge on Jan. 22. The rocket is now at ULA facilities in the region "for post-arrival inspections and the start of launch preparations," the company wrote in a statement shortly after the arrival. 

Launch is slated to take place from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in the next few months, if all goes to plan.

The (non-Lego) Vulcan Centaur is a 202-foot-tall (67 meters) rocket that will replace ULA's popular Atlas V and Delta IV rockets for commercial and government missions. Vulcan is equipped with a Centaur V upper stage and, depending on the mission, up to six solid rocket boosters. Its first stage includes two BE-4 methane-liquid oxygen engines built by Blue Origin. 

While Lego doesn't (yet) have an official copy of the Vulcan Centaur, it has used rockets before in its sets. A popular example is the NASA Saturn V rocket that launched astronauts to the moon; Lego's version included 1,969 pieces in honor of the Apollo 11 crew that touched down on the moon in 1969.

The director of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory wants to be a Jedi.

Laurie Leshlin, peering at footage of a lightsaber-shaped sample tube dropped yesterday on Mars (Dec. 21) by NASA's Perseverance mission, joked on Twitter that there must be a faster way of shipping home the package, "Star Wars"-style.

"I've been holding out my hand to my computer screen to see if it will be transported from Mars, since as director of I'm pretty sure the Force is with me, right?" Leshlin tweeted late Thursday.

It appears that footage from the rover shows the package has not yet budged, but Leshlin remained optimistic. "No joy so far, but I'll keep trying," she added.

The Perseverance mission has a mandate to help with the larger search for life on Mars, through picking up interesting rocks in an ancient river delta. The plan is to ship these tubes back to Earth in the 2030s, where laboratories can get their hands on the samples to look for the signatures of life. But why a lightsaber shape?

To be fair, JPL is not far from the heart of Los Angeles where many a "Star Wars" film has been produced. At least one Perseverance mission team member ⁠— systems engineer Keri Bean ⁠— has been known to cosplay as "Star Wars" characters alongside a custom R2-D2 robot for charity and fun, so the Force between JPL, Mars and "Star Wars" is indeed strong. That said, the Perseverance tube design is informed more by engineering than science fiction.

Certainly we can point to similarities. The Perseverance sample tube is made of titanium, a metal, which sounds akin to how Luke Skywalker described a lightsaber's design in Star Wars #4, a canon comic book. Wookieepedia, a "Star Wars" fan site, says lightsabers more generally include fictional exotic alloys, gems or substances like Haysian smelt, pastillion ore, or black onk. Even Cartusion whale bone has been used, as lightsabers are meant to be adaptable to the engineer's preferences, available materials and ideologies, the fan site says.

Unlike the lightsaber's use as a weapon, however, the design of the Perseverance sample tube was driven by the complications of storing the tube on the surface of Mars for a few years before shipping it in a spacecraft relay back to Earth. The tubes "must be lightweight and hardy enough to survive the demands of the round trip, and so clean that future scientists will be confident that what they're analyzing is 100 percent Mars," JPL wrote in a December 2020 description of the sampling process.

The shiny appearance of the Perseverance tube comes from titanium nitride (the gold part of the tube), bare titanium (the silver part on the smaller end) and a white exterior alumina coating to combat solar heating; otherwise, the sun may alter the sample chemical composition by accident as the sample lies exposed to solar radiation on the surface of Mars, JPL officials wrote.

The tapered end (the tip of the "blade", if we compare the tube to a lightsaber) is a hermetic seal to protect the sample from Martian atmosphere. The "hilt" is a casing for the plunger and springs to hold the sample in place inside the tube.

The Martian tubes are also much smaller than the lightsabers you see on screen. The 43 titanium sample cases Perseverance carries with it are roughly test-tubed sized, and the sample dropped on Mars yesterday is about the shape of a piece of chalk. While empty, each sample tube is less than 2 ounces (57 grams) in mass.

The tubes and "Star Wars" lightsabers aren't exactly alike, but we can agree they look just about the same  — and that the environment that Perseverance is currently roaming looks pretty similar to Tatooine, the "Star Wars" sand dune-filled planet hosting several generations of Skywalker. Let's just hope Perseverance doesn't run into Tusken Raiders as it continues its search for microbial life.

Shuttle Carrier Aircraft

With the NASA Space Shuttle Discovery now retired, a new set has taken its place. This one isn't just a shuttle, however: It's the Space Shuttle Enterprise on the back of a Boeing 747 carrier. It's an unusual set, but we like it because of that. You'll need a lot of room to display it, however. Thanks to the wingspan of the airplane, it's massive.

There's a lot to love here. You can display the set as one unified model, or you can take the Enterprise off the Boeing 747, letting them shine independently. The set has lots of neat details, but our favorite has to be the working landing gear of the carrier plane: turn a wheel on the underside of the model and the 18 wheels will deploy or retract.

There's also a useful storage bay built into the Space Shuttle Enterprise where you can store detachable engines and its own landing gear. It comes with an attachable tail cone too, letting you choose between that and the engine array.

We're not quite sure the set lives up to the Lego NASA Space Shuttle Discovery set, which focused entirely on the shuttle. If you're not interested in terrestrial aviation, then you might find the inclusion of a Boeing 747 a little dull in comparison. But if you are an airplane fan, then there's a lot to love here.

Milky Way Galaxy

There are multiple things we love about Lego Art The Milky Way. First and foremost is the fact that it hangs on the wall. If you're a Lego collector then you'll know how precious display space can be, and unless you have a huge house you're going to run out of it pretty quickly. That's where Lego sets that can hang on the wall come in: They can go anywhere without taking up any shelf or mantel space. We absolutely love them.

It uses color excellently to create something both abstract and eye-catching but also instantly recognizable as the Milky Way. Its design will, of course, appeal most to space fans, but the beautiful nature of it means that it's the type of wall art that just about anyone can enjoy.

One of our favorite things about the set, as we mentioned in our Lego Art The Milky Way review, is that it's made up of weird and wonderful Lego pieces, such as miniature hearts, stars and even tiny frogs — yes, really! It sounds odd but in practice, it looks wonderful and adds a lovely layer of texture to the finished work.

This is a fairly time-consuming build to complete, thanks to the fact that it's made up of more than 3,000 pieces. But thanks to the fact that it's constructed of 12 individual squares that then connect together once they're finished, it's easy to work on in bite-sized sessions. You can even have multiple people working on it together, making it a great activity for a couple or family to complete together.

It can be a little repetitive to build thanks to the nature of the set, but it's absolutely worth persevering with: the finished model is an absolutely fantastic display of color and texture, and it looks stunning on just about any wall of your home.

Space Astronaut

The Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Astronaut set might just be one of our favorite space-themed Lego sets of all time. It's not overly expensive, it's simple to build, and yet the finished model is something you can be truly proud of. What's not to like?

Being a 3-in-1 set, the Space Astronaut can be built in three different ways. There's of course the Space Astronaut, but you can also build a space dog and a space shuttle. They're both fine, but not a patch on the astronaut, who is absolutely wonderful thanks to their posable limbs and detailed suit. It stands rather tall at 10.5 inches, too, and comes with a display stand so you can show it off on a desk or shelf.

What makes this astronaut truly stand out, though, is just how poseable it is. In our Lego Space Astronaut review, we talked about how you can move its legs, feet and arms to pose it however you like. You can even move its fingers, giving it various gestures that can be easily changed. A very cool touch.

It's a shame that the other models featured in this 3-in-1 pale in comparison, but let's be honest: We'd love this if it was solely the astronaut, so the dog and the shuttle are mere bonuses. It's hard to mind too much about that.

Artemis Space Launch System

The Lego Icons NASA Artemis Space Launch System is seriously impressive in just about every way. It's the biggest and most expensive Lego space set that you can currently buy, but if you have the budget for it, you shouldn't let the price tag put you off: you're getting a seriously impressive kit for the price.

In our review of the Lego Artemis Space Launch System, we made no hesitation in saying it's one of the best-looking space sets Lego has ever released. We think it's going to take something really special to beat it, in fact.

In case it isn't obvious, the SLS absolutely isn't a playset, and we'd wager that it's best kept out of reach of small children, in fact. This is a display set through and through, aimed squarely at adults and experienced builders. Bear in mind that you will need a lot of display space to show this one off, though: it's more than 28 inches (70cm) tall when it's built, so you'll need a big shelf to place it on.

As long as you've got the space in your home for it, though, you won't be disappointed. The details are second to none, and it looks incredibly like NASA's real Space Launch System that it's based on. So much so, in fact, that a talented toy photographer has used it to create some seriously convincing photos.

Ultimately, the Lego Artemis Space Launch System is a great, in-depth build, but it can get a little repetitive at times. It's worth the slog, though, and your perseverance pays off when the finished model comes together. Few Lego sets look as impressive as this, and if anything, it only makes us more excited for what Lego and NASA bring out next.

Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Exploration Telescope

The Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Exploration Telescope offers three different builds for under $35, which sounds like great value, but is it?

In our Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Exploration Telescope review, we found that the telescope itself was fun to build and packed with genuinely great detail. It's perfectly formed along with a tripod, an adjustable mount, the scope and interchangeable lenses. It also comes with a miniature solar system, which is a nice touch, although it is incomplete, which is a little frustrating.

As it's a 3-in-1 set, other builds are available. You can also build a microscope and a spaceship too, and while the microscope looks cool (even if a little less impressive than the telescope), the spaceship is definitely less than remarkable. Nevertheless, multiple builds give this set longevity.

Measuring at 10.5 x 5 x 7.5 inches / 27 x 12 x 19 cm and with 278 pieces to the set, the building process is fun without being challenging, which is key given that it's suitable for those aged eight and above. It also doesn't require too much room to display, so it's perfect for anyone who isn't a collector and doesn't have a dedicated display space/area, or even those who are, as this could be added to a collection without taking up too much room for other display sets.

Modular Galactic Spaceship

The Lego City Modular Galactic Spaceship is a fantastic set for kids. Like everything in the Lego City range, this is a set designed first and foremost for play: It has lots of interactive features, such as opening cockpits, space for storage, and parts that can be reconfigured. As a modular set, this Spaceship can be built in a couple of different ways — once as a large spaceship, and another as a smaller space shuttle with a ground base.

Both ways offer their own merits, and we think kids will love it in either configuration. With a set of colorful minifigures, there's plenty to play with here: You can pilot the craft, go mining for space rocks, and even interact with a cute little alien that comes as part of the set.

For grown-ups, however, it's perhaps not the best set in the world: we don't think it's the most exciting to look at, so it won't make a great display set if that's what you're looking for. It's at least a fun build for any age group, although being aimed at ages 7 and above, it's pretty simple, with basic instructions and nothing too complicated.

Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket

In time for the launch of NASA's Artemis II mission, Lego's Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket offers builders an interactive and affordable recreation of the instantly recognizable ship at the center of the space agency's mission to carry humans around the Moon's orbit.

While there has already been one iteration of this rocket, the Icons NASA Space Launch System, this version is smaller, measuring approximately 27.5 x 6.5 x 3 inches (H x L x W), but offers more playability and interactivity. Once completed, a crank can be turned to showcase the rocket launching. You can see the rocket boosters separate, which also detach. This set also showcases the Upper Stage, where its engine module, Orion spacecraft and launch abort system separate.

With 632 pieces and four astronaut nanofigures included, this set is far more kid-friendly than its predecessor, which is suitable for those aged 18+. There are still some neat details included, like flames protruding from the bottom of the boosters, NASA branding and a small display plaque.

This particular set is new for 2026, and in time for the launch of the real-life rocket. We already think it's worthy of a place among the best Lego space sets on the market and we have our full review of this set coming soon. For now though, it's a great way of introducing children to and inspiring them to take an interest in spaceflight. It also works great as a display set for builders who may not have the space required for the Icons model.

Modular Space Station

A new set for 2024, the Lego City Modular Space Station has been built with kids in mind. It's made up of 1,097 pieces, comes with six minifigures, and can be configured in multiple ways.

The Modular Space Station is built around a "space ring", which essentially acts as an anchor for eight different modules. There's a bedroom, a kitchen, a workshop, a lab and more — and kids can remove these and reposition them however they want.

What's particularly fun (but very unrealistic) is that the pods can be removed from the Space Station and assembled into a train. Oh yes, this set can have your kids chugging a train through space.

In our Lego City Modular Space Station review, we praised the interactivity of the set, saying that it makes an excellent gift for kids with an interest in space. Our only reservation, however, is its cost. As a playset, it's rather expensive at $109.99, and we'd be hesitant to pay full price for it.

If you can pick it up at a discount (we've frequently seen it reduced by 20% or more), it's worth your time and money, and it's hard to imagine any space-loving kid would be disappointed by it.

While it might not teach youngsters much about life aboard a real space station, it does encourage creativity and imaginative play, and that's perhaps what we love most about Lego playsets. It's surprisingly big too, measuring over 15 inches across when built, so you at least feel like you're getting your money's worth.

NASA Mars Rover Perseverance

The Lego NASA Mars Rover Perseverance is made from Technic, rather than traditional 'System' Lego pieces. Technic sets tend to be more complicated, engineering-focused builds, and the Mars Rover Perseverance is no different, thanks to its working parts.

Made up of 1,132 pieces, it's packed with lots of features that make it feel like a genuine replica of the real thing. It has articulated suspension, for example, which means it's built to move over uneven surfaces. And there's manually controlled 360-degree steering and even a moveable arm.

All of those technical features, however, make this a complex build — so we wouldn't recommend tackling it unless you're already familiar with Lego Technic. It takes some getting used to, even if you're a seasoned standard Lego builder, with complex mechanics that require serious concentration. It's well worth the challenge, though, as the finished model is hugely impressive.

In our Mars Rover Perseverance review, we called it a 'wonderful piece of Lego engineering', and it really is. It straddles the line between display piece and playset perfectly, making the finished model suitable for all ages.

There's also a dedicated AR app you can download on your phone. Point your camera towards NASA Mars Rover Perseverance and it'll bring the set to life — along with providing some neat details about the real Perseverance's mission.

Lego Technic NASA Lunar Roving Vehicle

If you're looking to get your teeth stuck into a Lego NASA replica set, and you want to take your time doing it, the Lego NASA Lunar Roving Vehicle could be the right option for you. It's a buildable replica of the Lunar Roving Vehicle from Apollo Missions 15, 16 and 17 and it comes with nearly 2,000 pieces.

Aimed at adults, the 1,913 pieces combine to give you a model that features full steering and suspension as well as working wheels. Along with the vehicle are three buildable equipment attachments, the communications unit, heating and cooling elements and the battery pack, and each (including the vehicle) has its own information display plaque.

The completed set stands at 5.5 in. x 15 in. x 10 in. (Height x Lenght x Width), so it's an excellent display model, given it's size. It's also a detailed set with a fairly unique aesthetic, so it stands out. It doesn't come with any minifigures, but given the seats, steering and suspension, it could be used for play as well.

This set can be built with an interactive and engaging instruction manual with the Lego Builder app and with the number of pieces included and the recommended age, it's a suitable set for adult Lego fans, looking for a project to get stuck into, rather than beginners looking for a fun build for a couple of hours.

Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit

We're not sure we've ever seen a Lego Technic model quite as unique as Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit. Made up of 526 pieces, it mimics the Earth's orbit of the Sun, and the Moon's orbit of Earth.

It's not battery-powered: Instead, you spin a crank which will set the model in motion. It's seriously cool, and it's a novel way to teach youngsters about the solar system and how the planets move. In our review of the Lego Technic Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit, we praised its STEM stimulation elements, making it a great learning tool.

Lego markets this as a 10+ set and while we think kids even younger than that will absolutely love seeing it in motion, it might take much older, more experienced builders to successfully put this together. With a lot of cogs and working parts, it's easy to go wrong — but when you do get everything aligned, it's fantastic.

Perhaps the only downside we can think of when it comes to the Lego Technic Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit set is the fact that it isn't the prettiest model to look at once it's finished. Due to being a Technic model, most of its mechanisms are on display, which means it's not all that aesthetically pleasing. But it doesn't matter: some Lego sets are designed to be more functional, and the educational properties of this one are far more valuable than its prettiness as a display set.

3 in 1 Space Shuttle Adventure

We couldn't leave the youngest members of the family out of our guide to the best Lego space sets. Thanks to Lego going all-in on the space theme, even Duplo hasn't been left out. We think this chunky, colorful Space Shuttle Adventure set is the perfect choice for any pre-schoolers who have shown an interest in space.

This super-colorful and adorable set is made up of 58 chunky Duplo pieces, comes with two spacemen and can be configured in multiple ways. The focus here is learning through play, and Lego has packed in plenty of opportunities for your youngsters to develop their fine motor skills. There are propellers that can be spun around, for example, and a winch that can wind and unwind — ideal when those astronauts are heading out on a space walk.

Lego calls this a 3 in 1 set, with three main ways to build the shuttle. But those 58 bricks can actually be configured in hundreds of ways, allowing little imaginations to run free.

It's on the expensive side: $59.99 for 58 bricks sounds like a lot, but remember that Duplo bricks are much, much bigger than Lego bricks, and we think the quality of them is much better too. Putting these big, glossy blocks together is seriously satisfying. There's enough here for your kid to get plenty of play out of, but they're likely to grow out of it in a year or two when they want to move on to "grown-up" Lego.

We build up each set that we review, detailing how long the build process takes, how enjoyable it is, and if there are any particularly difficult or annoying sections. We also analyze how the finished model looks aesthetically when it's complete. Will it look good on display, are there any hidden details we like, and is anything missing?

If the set is meant for younger space fans then we also review the playability of the set. Does it have lots of moving parts, and are there minifigures included? Finally, we take the price into consideration to see if a set represents good value for money.

Best Lego Marvel sets we recommend in 2026

What can we even say about the Lego Marvel Avengers Tower? At nearly a meter tall this thing needs no introduction as it will dominate just about any shelf you place it on. It's going to be a huge talking point for any Marvel fan you invite over once it's built. But before you get there, you've got an epic — and varied and enjoyable — build on your hands.

At $500, this isn't a Lego set you can buy on a whim. It's a serious investment, but the good news is, like the vast majority of other large Lego sets before it, it's going to hold its value. (Just keep the box and instructions, whatever you do!) We think it's worth every penny though, whether you're a collector or a Marvel fan. There's so much to enjoy.

We love the little details that are packed into the multiple floors of the Avengers Tower. Look around and you'll find Thor's hammer hidden in there, and there's also the Tesseract if you pay attention. If you're an Avengers fan, you'll spot numerous Easter eggs, and you'll undoubtedly get a kick out of finding each of them as you build the set.

We also love just how many minifigures the Avengers Tower includes — and that's perhaps one of the reasons why it sits at the top of our guide to the best Lego Marvel sets. Best for Spider-Man fans

Don't want to spend $350 on the full-size 25 figure Daily Bugle? This smaller but still seriously cool set is a pocket-friendly alternative. It brings the newspaper building to life, with seven minifigures including Mysterio, The Rhino, Spider-Gwen and both of the Spider-Men.

At 13 inches tall it's not Avengers Tower sized, or bigger Bugle big, but it boasts four levels packed with all the trappings of a busy newspaper. Granted, J. Jonah Jameson is a bit squished into his office but the effect remains.

The building can be taken apart for play purposes, and it includes several transparent rods that hold the characters aloft, letting you set up your own battle scenes as the villains set siege to The Bugle.

It's a striking set, with plenty of interactivity, is bound to delight Spider-Man fans of all ages and there's potential to combine it with other Spider-Man sets. You'll never be bored.

Best for general Marvel fans

If you're a Marvel fan, we think the brand new Lego Marvel Logo and Minifigures set is a great choice. It's a solid, blocky build of the Marvel Logo, perfectly recreated out of bricks, with five iconic Marvel minifigures arranged around the sides.

Those minifigures are Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and Black Widow — a fantastic selection, we think you'll agree. What's neat is that each minifigure has a hiding place within the main block of the logo and can pop out with the push of a button.

As we said in our Lego Marvel Logo and Minifigures review, there are some seriously impressive building techniques employed here. The logo itself is constructed using a mixture of sideways and forward-facing bricks, and the result is a logo that's incredibly close to the real thing. If you have an existing Lego Marvel display, we think this will make a fantastic centerpiece.

It's a shame there aren't a few more minifigures included: The five here are great, but there are plenty more Marvel characters we think deserve the spotlight. It's also a little expensive for what it is at $99.99 — maybe wait until you can pick this one up in a sale.

Best for X-Men fans

One of the newest sets on this list is also one of the biggest: The X-Mansion released at the end of 2024 and at 3,093 pieces, it's absolutely huge. If you're an old-school X-Men fan, you're going to want this one in your collection — it's based on the animated series from 1997.

We think this is a set that absolutely pops with color and personality — certainly on the inside. While the outside of the mansion would benefit from more detail, there's no denying that Lego has outdone itself when it comes to the interior of the X-Mansion. There are lots of easter eggs that any X-Men fan will be delighted to uncover as they're building, along with lots of rooms and scenarios you can place the 10 included minifigures in.

There's a Danger Room where your X-Men minifigs can practice their powers in, for example. And you'll also find various classrooms and a library for those extra study sessions. One of our favorite touches is that you can recreate the popular Wolverine Crush meme, which is simply hilarious.

This is a pricey set, however, costing $329.99, and with measurements of 10.5 x 16 x 10 inches, you're going to need a lot of space to display it. Providing you've got the budget and display space, though, it's hard to be disappointed with this offering from Lego — even accounting for the annoying stickers included in the build.

Best for Guardians of the Galaxy fans

Lego Marvel Rocket & Baby Groot sits in that sweet price point that's somewhere between being a pocket-money build and a more expensive adult set. It's just $59.99, which we think offers great value, particularly for a set that's so enjoyable to build.

It's aimed at builders aged 10 and over, but we think it makes a great display set for adults. There's some playability here thanks to Rocket's moveable limbs, but it also looks fantastic stood on a shelf to show off.

Since it's aimed at older kids, it's not too complex a build either, with the instructions being relatively easy to follow. That said, it does have some fiddly sections, thanks to Rocket's posable limbs, so we perhaps wouldn't recommend this set for complete Lego beginners. As long as you've put a few sets together before, though, we don't think you'll have too much problem, and the finished model is well worth any frustrations. We think it's far nicer than it looks in pictures — they just don't do it justice.

Rocket's no slouch: This set is 8.5 inches tall, so makes a great display piece. Its moving parts make it useable as an action figure for younger fans, too, although we'd advise using caution as it's not the most stable build in the world.

There's only one minifigure included here - an adorable Baby Groot. It's designed to sit on Rocket's shoulder, and so there's a dedicated space for it to attach. We'd have liked to see a Rocket minifigure for display purposes too, but it's certainly not a dealbreaker.

Best for Avengers fans

It's a fairly expensive set for what it is — $100 for 794 pieces isn't exactly great value. But it's the minifigures you're paying for here, if anything: There are seven of them, including a large 'big fig' of Thanos. Also included are Captain Marvel, Okoye, Wanda Maximoff, Shuri, Valkyrie and The Wasp. It's an excellent selection, and lots of minifigures we don't frequently see, making it a great choice for collectors.

But there's far more to like about Lego Marvel Avengers Endgame Battle than just its minifigures. If you're a movie fan, you'll undoubtedly spot lots of little details based on Avengers: Endgame. Look around and you'll find Captain America's shield hidden in the rubble, for example, and there's also Thor's Hammer, the time stone and a magical rat to be found. These little touches really bring the set to life, especially for kids who'll be using it as a playset.

But we think this makes a great display piece too. Thanks to the large Avengers 'A' sign atop and the clever placements of the minifigures, it looks fantastic on a shelf, and the non-standard shape of the set is really eye-catching. It's safe to say that the Lego designers have done a great job of capturing the feeling of chaos and destruction in this set.

We'd perhaps recommend waiting for a sale on this one, though. While the minifigures do offer good value (big figs alone tend to be worth $15-$20), that $100 price tag does feel a tad overpriced. Thankfully, we've frequently seen 30-40% savings available on this set.

Best for minifigures

At $350, the Lego Marvel Daily Bugle isn't a purchase to make lightly — but do it, and it's one you're most likely not going to be disappointed with. It measures over 32 inches (82cm) tall, making it tower over most other Lego sets. It's quite the imposing model, then, but it looks absolutely fantastic.

The Daily Bugle is made up of four storeys, and each one of them is filled with plenty of details. There are Easter eggs for both movie and comic book fans to enjoy, and lots of comical little touches that will undoubtedly make you smile. Alongside all those Marvel touches, you'll also find typical office equipment like desks, computers and photocopiers — you know, the stuff you'd expect to find in a newspaper office. The walls can be removed, too, so you can peer into any floor whenever you feel like it.

It looks absolutely fantastic from the outside, too. It's teeming with life thanks to the clever positioning of all the minifigures. A full 'glass' (well, plastic) frontage looks fantastic, as does the realistic fire escape and that absolutely excellent signage on top of the building. The set also comes with a traditional yellow New York cab that helps give it a sense of location.

The best thing, though? All the minifigures: There are 25 of them here. It's been beaten by the Avengers Tower recently, but it's still a huge number of minifigs, and there are some fantastic characters here. Including Spider-Ham, Gwen, Mysterio, Venom, Carnage, Dr. Octopus, The Punisher, and more, it really is the ultimate collection for Spider-Man fans.
