Is this Lego Star Wars AT-AT Walker one of the massive UCS sets? No, and given that the UCS AT-AT is retired, you'll have to pay four figures to get your hands on it. However, it is a seriously striking set, with a Snowspeeder flying around its legs in an effort to bring it down.

At 6.5 x 7.5 x 4.5 inches / 17 x 19 x 11 cm, it's just the right size to perch on a desk or a shelf. And, despite its size, it packs in a serious amount of detail. From its red 'visor' window to its giant, stomping feet, there's no mistaking this iconic Star Wars vehicle, and you'll get a real thrill out of watching it come together, piece by menacing piece.

Just looking at this set gives us the chills and despite its rope-based vulnerability, we can understand why the Empire unleashed it on Hoth. Not only will this mid-size Lego Star Wars AT-AT dominate a desk or shelf, but it boasts a more dynamic appearance than its bigger brethren, with a Snowspeeder wrapping a tow cable around its legs.

There have been plenty of Lego Star Wars AT-ATs over the years, all coming in various shapes and sizes. We've had micro-scale ones, motorized ones, giant Ultimate Collector's Series ones and just about everything in between.

Lego's new-for-2026 AT-AT is a little different, though. Built to a scale to match the recent wave of mid-sized display ships, it's one of the most affordable AT-ATs I've seen to date. And dare I say it, perhaps one of the most desirable.

After all, this is more than just an AT-AT; it's an entire diorama bringing a moment from the Star Wars movies to life. It captures an AT-AT in motion as a tiny Snowspeeder attempts to thwart it by entangling its beastly legs in rope. The sense of motion captured by Lego, which I'll delve into further in this review, is just one of the reasons I love this set so much.

Given its budget-friendly price and the fact that it looks so wonderful, I'm pretty sure this is a model destined for a place on our best Lego Star Wars sets list. Whether you want it as a standalone piece or to add to a growing Lego Star Wars collection, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Lego Star Wars AT-AT review: Build

• Mostly fun and straightforward
• Legs feel repetitive
• Experienced youngsters could tackle this without hassle

The Lego AT-AT is a designed-for-adults 18+ set, but there's nothing too taxing here that should stop an experienced youngster tackling it. It's mostly a fun build, one that will likely take around 90 minutes to two hours to complete. While there are some neat techniques used here, it can also get a little repetitive at times.

You'll start by building the central structure of the AT-AT, and from here you'll work on adding its legs and head. The head is a standout part of the build for us, making excellent use of parts. It looks great when finished; despite its size in comparison to larger and more expensive Lego AT-ATs of the past, it carries all the details needed, and it's instantly recognizable.

Building the legs is where the Lego AT-AT gets a little repetitive. Three of these are identical, so it's up to you if you tackle them one by one or attempt to build three at once. The fourth leg is dealt with separately simply because it's bent, but it's not so dissimilar from the three that came before it. It gets a little tedious, but the size of the set means it won't take too long to complete.

Lego Star Wars AT-AT review: Design

There are a few things to note about the design of the Lego AT-AT. First, the structure of the AT-AT itself allows for some movement in the head. It is built separate from the main body, then attached via a rod, which is a clever idea and ultimately makes it feel more sturdy than it would as one singular unit. Having a slight bit of movement adds to the feeling of momentum the set tries to capture, and it works to great effect.

Next is the base of the set. While it's clearly designed to sit alongside other mid-sized Lego Star Wars sets like the Acclamator-Class Assault Ship and the Executor Super Star Destroyer, its base isn't quite uniform with these. It's to be expected, given how different an AT-AT is from a flying ship, but it's something worth bearing in mind if you're wanting to display this as part of a series. It still sports a printed display piece, however, and I think it looks stunning whether it's alone or part of a set.

It really is hard to criticize much of the design of the AT-AT, honestly. The Lego designers have done a stellar job in shrinking a behemoth Star Wars icon into a small package. It may pale in comparison to the now-retired UCS AT-AT, but given the price difference of the two, I know which I'd rather have on my shelves. This one doesn't command an entire desktop to display, either.

One of our favorite things is the way it so easily captures the sense of motion. With the AT-AT's legs positioned as if it's trying to take a step, it's very easy to picture it slowly but forcefully moving along a battlefield, all while a snowspeeder fights to stop it. Held by a translucent rod, it really does look as if the snowspeeder is flying independently from the AT-AT. A very neat effect indeed.

Should you buy the Lego Star Wars AT-AT?

Yes! I have no doubt at all that you should buy the Lego AT-AT. If you've never bought a Lego version of the AT-AT before, this one is an excellent version to add to your collection. And even if you have, this one is different enough to merit a purchase regardless. It looks great, it's an accurate representation, it's a pleasant build and it doesn't cost the earth: what more could you ask for?

Other sets to consider

Given that I think the Lego Star Wars AT-AT would look great alongside some of Lego's recent mid-sized Star Wars ships, a worthy alternative is the Acclamator-Class Assault Ship. With a similar price and size, this very neatly designed ship looks great on any desktop surface, and I think it's one of the best Star Wars sets of recent years.

If you want something with a bit more...character, what about the festive-themed Gingerbread AT-AT? I reckon both sets would look great side-by-side — and actually, despite being made up of more than 150 extra pieces, the Gingerbread AT-AT is $5 cheaper. Figure that one out.

The Lego Star Wars theme is off to a good start for 2026. Not only have we had the excellent mid-sized AT-AT, but we’ve also got this wonderful Venator-Class Attack Cruiser. It’s part of a series which Lego calls the Starship Collection, and it joins other excellent sets including the Executor Super Star Destroyer, the Acclamator-Class Assault Ship and the 25th Anniversary Millennium Falcon.

The Venator is certainly up there with the best of them, although it’s put in a tricky position, being instantly dwarfed by the Ultimate Collector’s Series version of the ship — incidentally, one of our favorite UCS sets. But given this mid-sized Venator-Class Attack Cruiser is available for a fraction of the price, there’s a lot to love here.

Obviously, it lacks the details of the UCS, given its much more modest size. But that’s no bad thing: measuring 12-inches in length, it’s still respectably sized, and there’s no mistaking the Star Wars vessel this model is aping. And for those of us who have smaller homes and less space to display giant sets, this really is the mid-sized set we’ve been waiting for.

There are some details we wish Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Attack Cruiser had captured better — there’s no external detail to give it a sense of scale, for example — but overall it’s hard to find fault with this set. Not only is it one of our favorite mid-sized Star Wars sets to date, but it’s perhaps also amongst the best Lego Star Wars sets, particularly if you’re a fan of starships.

Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Attack Cruiser review: Build

• Enjoyable build
• Some tricky sections, and a bit of repetition
• Neat building techniques are used

Putting together the Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Attack Cruiser is a straightforward and mostly enjoyable process. The bricks are split up over five bags and altogether, you can expect this 643-piece set to take roughly two hours to put together, perhaps a little longer if you’re new to building Lego.

You’ll start the process by building a central structure and, by the end of bag one, it’s likely that you’ll be wondering where things are going. As often is the case with Lego sets, the Venator-Class Attack Cruiser doesn’t begin to take form until the end of bag two, with the earliest parts of the build revolving around structure and integrity.

By the time you’re beginning the third bag, though, you’ll see some of the angular shapes that give the Venator its form. The Lego designers have used some clever parts to achieve this, which we’ll talk about in more detail shortly.

Perhaps the only part of the build we didn’t enjoy was building the wings. Despite them being almost identical (albeit reversed), the instructions tell you to build both separately. It can get a bit tedious, particularly with some sections that can be a little fiddly to complete.

Once it all comes together, however, the Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Attack Cruiser feels very sturdy and robust. Like all other sets in the Starship Collection, it stands proudly on a black base with a plaque to match the rest of the set.

Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Attack Cruiser review: Design

You’ve only got to take a fleeting glance at the photos to know that the Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Attack Cruiser is a seriously good-looking Lego set. It’s instantly recognizable as the Venator, and despite being dwarfed by the UCS build of the same ship, it somehow manages to live up to it. Sure, it lacks some of the detail purely because of its size, but a lot has been packed into its 30 cm length.

The Lego designers behind this model have used some great building techniques, including a sort of ‘sandwich’ effect on the wings. You’ll see that flat plates have been used on the top and bottom of each wing, leaving an empty space in the center, which has cleverly been filled in on the edge with detailing. It’s a unique technique and one that works very well in capturing the shape of the cruiser.

Our only real complaint is that there’s no external detail here to give a sense of scale to the ship. On the Executor Super Star Destroyer, we had a ‘tiny’ Star Destroyer flying alongside it to emphasize the sheer size of the ship. And Lego did the same with the new AT-AT set, fixing a tiny Snow Speeder alongside it. The Venator-Class Attack Cruiser still feels grand and imposing, but that extra bit of flair would have gone a long way.

Should you buy the Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Attack Cruiser?

Yes! You should absolutely buy the Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Attack Cruiser. This is an excellent addition to Lego’s mid-size ships range. If you already own a few of them, it will make a great addition to your collection. If you haven’t yet purchased any, this is a great place to start, and the Venator will look fantastic standing on its own.

Other sets to consider

If you’ve got the space and the money, of course, there’s the option of buying the Ultimate Collector’s Series Venator instead. You can, and you won’t be disappointed — it’s a great set. But do you really need a Lego set that big when this one does such a great job of recreating the ship?

In the same range as the Venator-Class Attack Cruiser, we’d also recommend the AT-AT, which we recently reviewed and also loved. Along with the mid-range sets we’ve also mentioned, there’s also the Home One Starcruiser and the Tantive IV, both providing excellent replicas of their respective ships.

What makes this set a must-have, especially at this price, is its size. No, it isn't one of the behemoth UCS sets, but rather a mid-sized set, which means you don't need an entire coffee table to display it. Measuring at over 6 x 12.5 x 4 inches (height x length x width), it's still packed with plenty of detail, including engines and turboblasters, along with the striking red that goes along the side and front of the ship.

The Tantive IV also comes on its own display stand, along with a display plaque showcasing its name and a commemorative brick highlighting the 25th anniversary of Lego Star Wars. There are a few stickers involved in the building process, which is otherwise a relatively quick and fun experience. There are even escape pods on the underside of the hull for R2-D2 and C3PO's escape to Tatooine. At this price, it's a pretty awesome Lego Star Wars set to build and proudly display.

If you're fairly new to buying Lego sets, where do you even start? There are hundreds to choose from, and even if you narrow down to a specific theme, you're still spoilt for choice. Take Lego Star Wars: There are dozens of current sets, coming in at all price ranges and sizes. You'll likely be drawn to the cheaper-priced sets, but if you're buying for an adult, playsets might not always feel appropriate.

That's where Lego's mid-sized Star Wars sets come in: Sets like the Executor Super Star Destroyer and the Acclamator-Class Assault Ship. They're all rated 18+, costing between $50 and $80, and offering seriously satisfying builds that don't take too long to put together, nor too much space when they're completed.

I love everything about these sets. Not only do they come with display stands, making them look executive, but they're surprisingly detailed given their size. They're the perfect size to put on your work desk or on a bookshelf. You won't have to rearrange your entire house to make space for them, like you might have to with the UCS Death Star. You won't have to take out a loan to buy one, either, compared to the $1,000 price tag of the Death Star.

If you're fairly new to Lego, too, these models offer the perfect blend of challenge and simplicity. A model can be completed in one sitting, usually taking a couple of hours. An Ultimate Collector’s Series set, in comparison, might take tens of hours – and with our busy lives, who has that much free time?

And so, read on to find out why I think the mid-sized sets are the best Lego Star Wars sets to buy for adults, whether you're buying for yourself or a loved one.

Size is important

In principle, a 7,500-piece Lego set sounds great. That's how big the UCS Millennium Falcon is. But Lego takes a long time to build, and even the most seasoned builder will likely spend upwards of 25 hours putting that together. That's a lot of time, especially if you only have a few spare hours a day. Say goodbye to the use of your dining room table for a couple of weeks, while a giant half-built Lego set takes over.

And even when it's finished, do you have somewhere to put it? Unless you've got a huge house or a specially-commissioned table to accommodate your Millennium Falcon, you're going to have a hard time finding space for it. But Lego's mid-range Star Wars sets, typically measuring somewhere between 10 and 15 inches in length, are far easier to find room for.

The sets are typically between 400 and 600 pieces, with the only outlier being the Millennium Falcon, which is 921 pieces. Even that one only took roughly three hours to build — a fraction of the time it takes to build the UCS Millennium Falcon. The rest will take one or two hours; the perfect time for an evening activity once you're ready to unwind after a day at work.

It all comes down to price

$50 sounds far more reasonable than $500, doesn't it? If you're a long-time Lego Star Wars fan and collector, you might consider forking out for an Ultimate Collector's Series set. But if you're fairly new to Lego, buying a mid-sized set is a great way to find out if it's a pastime you enjoy without breaking the bank.

The Invisible Hand and Acclamator-Class Assault Ship, for example, both cost just $49.99, and the most expensive ship in the range, Millennium Falcon 25th Anniversary, is $84.99. The value for money here is excellent, and even though they're so small in comparison, you're still getting a similar brick-to-price ratio as you do in much larger sets.

The devil is in the details

All of the ships in this range are built on a similar scale, have matching stands, and look great whether they're displayed on their own or as a set. Given their size, you'd be forgiven for thinking that they can't have much detail – and of course, they don't compare to larger sets. But when you consider their price, I think these sets are surprisingly and pleasantly detailed. Take the Executor Super Star Destroyer, for example: to give it a sense of scale, it has two regular Star Destroyers flying alongside it.

Then there's the Home One Starcruiser, which not only has a Nebulon-B frigate flying alongside it, but its side can also be removed to reveal the interior. Larger sets might have more interactive features — these small sets are not minifig scale, which is really their only downside — but given their price, that's to be expected. There's also the fact that minifigures tend to push up the price of sets, so by not including any, it's an easy way to keep the price down.

Ultimately, I think few other Lego sets offer such good value as these mid-sized Star Wars ships. Put it this way: for the price of one UCS Millennium Falcon, you can buy ten 25th Anniversary Millennium Falcons. And for the price of the UCS Death Star? Well, you can have twenty Acclamator-Class Assault Ships. Need I say more?

The Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Exploration Telescope might boast three models in one, but you might as well forget about the other two. While the microscope isn't terrible, the spaceship really isn't worth building. It doesn't matter, though, because the telescope itself is more than enough to justify the asking price alone.

Despite being made up of only 278 pieces, the telescope is perfectly formed, comprising a tripod, an adjustable mount, a scope and interchangeable lenses. As a bonus, it also comes with a model of the solar system, although with only seven planets, it's inexplicably not accurate.

That doesn't matter, though; the solar system model isn't large enough to use as an accurate educational tool anyway, and the main focus here is the telescope itself. Thanks to its realistic appearance and its neat projector function, a pleasant surprise, given the price point of the set, the Space Exploration Telescope has secured a place amongst our best Lego space sets.

In this review, I'll be focusing mainly on the telescope model, given it's the highlight of the set, and, quite frankly, there's very little reason to build the other two models.

Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Exploration Telescope review: Build

• Combines regular pieces with Technic
• Suitable build for all ages
• Solar system can be fiddly and isn't a complete model

Given that the Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Exploration Telescope is aimed at kids aged eight and above, it's no surprise that it's an easy, fast build. I put the telescope together in roughly 45 minutes. Kids or less experienced builders may take a little longer. It's a great set for beginners and more advanced Lego fans alike, given that it combines standard Lego bricks and some Technic pieces. Nothing is too complex here, though, and the set makes use of some very nice techniques.

The first stand-out part of the build is the adjustable mount. By turning a cog, you can move the telescope up and down, changing its angle. I am slightly disappointed that the tripod doesn't adjust, but I imagine this is more of a functional choice than anything else. While having a folding tripod would make this telescope feel more realistic, the position of its legs means it's perfectly sturdy, and, if they folded, it would be difficult to maintain the structural integrity of the set.

Perhaps the fiddliest part of the building process is the extraneous model of the solar system. This small structure simply adds another point of interest to the build, and features a large sun surrounded by seven planets and some moons. Why seven? I'm not really sure, but given that they were tricky to fit into the model, it seems like it may simply be a case of not being able to make space for one more.

Don't look too closely and you'll not notice. Just don’t consider using it as an educational tool. Hopefully, a full solar system model is on the cards from Lego at some point soon, but until then, there's the Lego Technic Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit set to consider.

Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Exploration Telescope review: Design

• Telescope is unquestionably the highlight
• The microscope isn't that bad
• The UFO isn't great to build or look at

I've got to talk about the niftiest part of this model: A very clever use of the light brick, which turns the telescope into a mini projector. Once the telescope has been built, one of three 'slides' can be inserted just behind the lens. By pushing a button, the light brick will shine through the lens, casting an image from the slides onto a nearby wall or flat surface.

There's a star, moon and planet, and while the projection isn't exactly clear or mind-blowing, it's a seriously neat feature. It's one I certainly didn't expect, given the budget-friendly price of the set.

I should talk about the other builds here, too. Along with the telescope, the Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Exploration Telescope can also be rearranged into a microscope and a UFO. It's worth noting that you can only build one of these at once, so if you want to build the microscope, you'll need to first disassemble the telescope, and so on.

The microscope isn't too bad, looking suitably like the scientific instrument it's supposed to resemble. The light brick isn't used to such a good effect here, however, simply illuminating the slide images from underneath rather than offering some kind of realistic projection. It's also a shame that Lego hasn't included any microscope-specific slides; some flora or fauna to look at would have been a nice touch. It's almost as if Lego knew I'd only build the telescope.

The third model, the UFO, is the clear weak link of the set. The small model lacks any real detail or ingenuity and isn't even particularly nice to look at. Granted, it's been a while since we've had a good UFO model from Lego, but this isn't it. Stick with the telescope and don't waste your bricks on building this one.

Should you buy the Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Exploration Telescope?

Despite disappointing secondary models, the Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Exploration Telescope is still very much worth its asking price. It's a fantastic model of a telescope, featuring moving parts, a very clever use of a light brick and all the features you'd expect to find on a 10-inch tall telescope. Costing just $34.99, it's an absolute steal — one of our favorite Lego space sets and a model that's a must-buy for any stargazer.

Other sets to consider

For another budget-priced Creator 3-in-1 set, why not consider the Space Robot? This cutesy little set costs only $24.99, and along with a robot, can also be turned into a space dog and a rocket. It's slightly more expensive at $54.99, but there's also the 3-in-1 Space Astronaut. One of our highest-rated Lego space sets, it can be turned into a dog or a spacecraft, but the realistic astronaut is the star of the show.

If you want something a little more meaty, the Lego NASA Artemis Space Launch System is just about the best Lego space set you can buy right now in terms of realistic models. It's huge, though, and with a price tag of $259.99, it's not one to buy on a whim.

If you're a Lego Star Wars collector, it's likely the norm to spend hundreds of dollars on a set at least a couple of times a year. Lego's Ultimate Collector's Series is aimed at adults with a large amount of disposable income, and while some UCS sets are priced under $300, most are higher, with the most expensive — the recently-released Death Star — costing an eye-watering $999.99.

But you don't need to spend that much to have an impressive Star Wars set. In fact, what we think is the best Ultimate Collector's Series set costs much less, giving you enough spare to buy another UCS set alongside it. The Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser isn't cheap at $649.99, but it is a fantastic set and offers excellent value for money.

The set's impressive size, attractive design and enjoyable building process make it an Ultimate Collector's Series set we're thrilled to have in our collection. Its price tag may still be pushing the limit of what most people are willing to spend on Lego, but if your budget does stretch this far, you'll see why we think it's one of the best Lego Star Wars sets, and the best UCS set you can currently buy.

Size

If you want a Lego set that looks like it's cost a fortune, the Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser is the one to go for. Thanks to its size, it's a set you can be proud to show off — providing you've got the space for it, of course. It's 43-inches long (over one meter), so you're going to need a very big shelf to put it on. As long as you've got enough room, though, it's a set you're going to want visitors to see.

Over 5,300 pieces make up the Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser. That's significantly less than the 9,000 pieces making up the Death Star, but it makes it a slightly more manageable build. You're still going to be spending multiple hours putting this together, but it'll be finished days before you're done with the Death Star. And when you're finished, you'll be left with a much bigger, complete-looking set. Let's not forget that the UCS Death Star is simply a slice of the Death Star.

Regardless of piece size, this is the biggest UCS set you can currently buy in terms of scale. In comparison, the Death Star is 32-inches wide, the Millennium Falcon 33-inches wide and Jabba’s Sail Barge 31-inches wide. The Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser has a good ten inches on all of those, giving it the most 'wow' power to glance at.

Design

We think the Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser looks absolutely stunning, too, and it's not just because of its sheer size. From its shape to its colorway, this is a striking ship. Better yet, it's one of the more unusual Lego sets: unlike the Millennium Falcon and the Death Star, which we've seen multiple Lego versions of, this is only the second Venator-Class Attack Cruiser, and the first in more than 15 years. We don't know about you, but we think it's a treat to get a set of a ship we don't see very often.

Thanks to the striking red detailing of the Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, it stands out at the side of a sea of other Star Wars ships that are often grey or black in color. Its shape may be similar to a Star Destroyer, but we think this is much more unique in comparison. Its angled sides give the set a lot of interest, and despite this not being a set that opens up to reveal a detailed interior, there's still plenty to look at.

The thrusters on the back of the ship are striking by themselves, for example. It's a side of the set that you're probably not going to look at all that often, but it's a shame, because the array here is simply spectacular. Add to that the attack turrets atop the model and the hangar bays on the side (one complete with a scale-sized ship inside), and you've got something truly special.

Price

OK, $649.99 is still a heck of a lot of money to spend on one Lego set. But it's also $350 less than the price of an Ultimate Collector's Series Death Star. $350 can buy you one more UCS set (Jango Fett's Firespray-Class Starship! X-Wing Starfighter! TIE Interceptor! AT-ST Walker!) and have a bit of money left in your pocket. To us, that feels like a way better deal.

The Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser doesn't have as many minifigures with it as the Death Star, granted. There are only two included with the set, which is a shame, but it's one of the ways that Lego has kept the cost lower. Besides, if you're a Lego Star Wars collector, there's a good chance you've already got minifigures of most models, so you're not really missing out.

We understand that not everyone has this sort of cash to splash on one Lego set. But if you do, it offers great value for money, given the sheer size of the set and the number of pieces included in it. We don't think you'll regret buying it, as long as you can afford it.

Verdict

Perhaps the Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser isn't a great choice for your first-ever Lego set, given its sheer size and the amount of time it'll take you to build it (it took our reviewer, an expert builder, 13 hours to complete the set). Go for something much smaller and cheaper instead to test the water! But if you're already a collector and a long-time fan of Lego Star Wars, this is one UCS set you really need in your collection.

It's still very expensive, but ultimately it's the size and design of the Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser that has won us over. At over one meter in length, it's one of the biggest Lego Star Wars sets you can currently own, and providing your house is big enough to take it, it makes quite the statement. And thanks to its striking red stripes and its unique shape, it's a really eye-catching set, too, especially in comparison to the all-grey sets we normally see in the Lego Star Wars range.

Since the Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser has been around since 2023, however, we don't think it's going to stay around for too much longer. If you've been eyeing this setup for a while, then consider this your sign to pick it up. It's a UCS set you'll be proud to have in your collection — it's certainly one of our favorites.

It's a good time to be a fan of Disney+'s The Mandalorian, with Lego announcing no less than five new sets based on the popular Star Wars series. Perfectly timed to launch just ahead of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie release, the sets are all aimed at younger builders, but that doesn't mean we AFOLs have to be left out.

We’d be very happy to have any and all of these sets in our collection, and there's something to suit all tastes and budgets. There's an incoming set of BrickHeadz, featuring Grogu and Mando among other characters, a brand-new version of the Razor Crest, a new Republic X-Wing Starfighter, an AT-RT playset, and an Anzellan Starship, a ship we've yet to see as it features in the upcoming movie.

These sets are all coming to stores in April, and pre-orders are available now at Lego for all but the BrickHeadz (which you’ll have to wait until 1st April to grab). Lego Star Wars AT-RT Attack

The smallest and cheapest of the upcoming Lego Star Wars Mandalorian sets, AT-RT Attack is a rather simple playset featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu sitting atop an AT-RT. A Stormtrooper also mans a defensive turret tower. At only 297 pieces, this is a very small set, but it's perfectly sized for youngsters who are just getting into Lego (and Star Wars).

It's a fun set with plenty of playability. The defense tower opens up, for example, with a weapon rack and storage space hidden inside. And the AT-RT has poseable limbs, allowing kids to make it move along their makeshift battlefield. It has working blasters, too, so be prepared to find single Lego studs all over the living room.

Lego Star Wars Anzellan Starship

We're pretty excited about the Anzellan Starship, as it's a completely new ship that we've never seen before. With many Lego Star Wars sets typically being re-releases of existing sets, it's a breath of fresh air to get something new. And we do rather like the look of this one.

Made up of 701 pieces, it's a decent-sized set, too. There's a cockpit up front, with enough room for a pilot to sit. And by lifting a section of the roof away, you can reveal a fully kitted-out workshop area, complete with a rest area and plenty of tools. Our only concern here is that the set doesn't come with any full-sized minifigures. But you do get a Grogu and two adorable Anzellan figures.

Lego Star Wars New Republic X-Wing Starfighter

We've seen plenty of X-Wing Starfighters over the last few years, coming in various shapes and sizes. This one is a great mid-sized set, made with 558 pieces and measuring 12 inches in length. It's ideal for a playset, then, or a small Lego Star Wars display. But with an age rating of 9+, this is very much designed as a playset, so if it's not being swooshed through the air, it would be a bit of a shame, don’t you think?

The New Republic X-Wing Starfighter includes two minifigures (Colonel Ward and Carson Teva) along with an Astromech droid. The cockpit of the ship opens up, with space to place one of the minifigures and the droid. There's plenty more interactivity here, too, with a retractable landing gear, a button that flips the wings into attack mode, and working stud shooters.

Lego Star Wars The Razor Crest

The biggest set of this wave of Lego Mandalorian sets might just be our favorite, but it's one we've seen before. The Razor Crest is the most iconic ship from the series, and this version is rather eye-catching thanks to its yellow accents on the exterior. It also comes with a great range of minifigures: along with Mandao and Grogu, it comes with a stormtrooper, Colonel Ward and Zeb Orrelios.

It is the most expensive set from this wave, but that's with good reason. It's a sizeable set, measuring 12.5 x 9.5 inches, and has plenty of interactive parts. The cockpit canopy can be removed to reveal space for minifigures to sit, and the side panels of the ship can be opened to reveal the full engine and cargo compartments. There are also stud shooters for kids who want to get hands-on with acting out an epic battle. It's perhaps the unique shape of the Razor Crest that makes it so attractive, though, thanks to the large blasters on either side and the front-facing turrets.

Lego Star Wars BrickHeadz The Mandalorian and Grogu: Allies & Villains

Last but not least is The Mandalorian and Grogu: Allies & Villains set of BrickHeadz. BrickHeadz are a little divisive, with Lego fans either loving or hating them. We rather enjoy them, and we think this collection is a strong one. Not only do you get Mandalorian and Grogu, but there's also Colonel Ward, an Imperial Remnant Snowtrooper and an Anzellan. Together, they make a rather odd troop, but a fabulous display set.

There's no denying that this is a set offering excellent value for money: 661 pieces for just $39.99 is fantastic. It's just a shame that BrickHeadz don't offer much in the way of playability. These figures could be used for imaginative play, but they're more designed for displaying, in the way you would display a Funko Pop figure. Still, there's no denying that these are going to look great on a shelf.

Late last year, we published an article about retired Lego Star Wars sets we’d love to see make a return. And with the older BB-8 model now retired (2017-2019), we wondered if this new model lives up to the expectations to sit in our guide to the best Lego Star Wars sets.

We adore BB-8, one of our favorite Star Wars droids and one of the best things to come from the Star Wars sequel trilogy. This orb-shaped robot is joyous, and this little Lego model is perfectly proportioned to capture it in all its glory.

It is a small set, though. Measuring roughly six inches tall, you won’t need to worry about finding space to display BB-8. It’s sorely disappointing in comparison to the now-retired BB-8, which was a rather grand nine inches in height. It also had twice the piece count (1106 pieces versus 569) - and yet that 2017 BB-8 only cost $10 more (£5 in the UK).

That’s really our biggest complaint here, but we shouldn’t be surprised considering how much the price of Lego (and most things in life) has increased in the last nine years. Read on for our full review, and to find out whether we’ll be recommending BB-8 as one of the best Lego Star Wars sets you can currently buy.

Lego Star Wars BB-8 review: Build

• Straightforward build
• Some unique mechanics
• No stickers

The 569 pieces of Lego Star Wars BB-8 are split over four bags. It’s obvious from the start that this is going to be a fairly straightforward build, given its low piece count and its age 10+ rating. It means that the instructions are easy to follow and you’ll never need to manage more than a few new pieces at any one step. Perfect if you’re new to Lego.

It’s not all entirely straightforward, though. BB-8 has some nice parts usage and a very cool mechanism that means he randomly turns his head from side to side as you roll him forward on his singular wheel. It’s a nice touch that requires a bit of ingenious work with rubber bands without ever being too complex to put together.

Like most Lego models, it’s very hard to tell what you’re building when you start out with BB-8. With the first two bags being concerned with the core structure and central mechanism, it’s not until you get onto bag three that the little droid will start taking shape.

The Lego designers have done a great job in creating a rounded shape for BB-8, thanks to cleverly built rounded corners. Built in two halves, with the mechanics hidden away inside, large circular plates are added to BB-8’s body to add more detail and to finish off its rounded appearance.

Overall, it’s an enjoyable build with nothing too complex or fiddly to deal with. It’s also worth noting that there are no stickers used at all here: BB-8 has a lot of detail, but it’s all printed. This is something we love to see, and might also explain a little why the price tag of this set feels a little high.

Lego Star Wars BB-8 review: Design

• Feels a little wobbly
• Great, rounded design compared to the 2017 version
• Can't quite decide if it wants to be a playset or a display set

As we’ve already said, we love how Lego Star Wars BB-8 looks. Despite it being much smaller than the previous BB-8 model, we can’t deny that it’s much better designed in terms of visual appeal. While the 2017 BB-8 was rather blocky, BB-8 is smoother and more circular, making the model look more like the real thing.

Sitting somewhere between a display set and a playset, BB-8 has a limited number of functions. Thanks to its mechanism, its head will move from side to side as you roll it, and a front ‘hatch’ opens up to reveal a set of tools. But given the fact that the set comes with a display plaque, it’s probably better suited to sitting on a shelf and looking pretty.

It’s also a rather wobbly set, so we aren’t confident it would withstand heavy-handed play from children. While it’s perfectly stable when sat on a flat surface, we wouldn’t like to think it was being flung around haphazardly. Its circular plates in particular lend themselves to a feeling of instability thanks to the fact that they attach to the main body in such a way that they spin around when touched.

Given that this is a 10+ set, we’d have liked to have seen a few more interactive features on it, but it’s not the first display set that Lego has marketed to a younger audience. Last year’s Grogu with Hover Pram was the same: a 10+ set designed to be purely decorative. It’s an odd choice, but as long as you know what you’re getting, it’s not a real issue.

Should you buy Lego Star Wars BB-8?

We really like Lego Star Wars BB-8, but its high asking price really gives us pause. This is half the size of the previous BB-8, but carries practically the same price tag. And in other Lego themes, 1,000+ piece sets can be picked up for around the same price. It’s annoying, and as nice as BB-8 is, we’re just not sure it’s worth $90.

Ultimately, you should probably wait for a discount before picking up this little drone, unless you’re absolutely eager to have it in your collection. For around $60 to $70, we think this is a fantastic set, but at full price, it’s a little disappointing.

Other sets to consider

With the previous BB-8 long discontinued, this set is your only option if you’re desperate for Rey’s companion droid. Used second-hand models can be picked up without breaking the bank, but if you like your sets to be new and sealed, you’d be silly to go for the 2017 model now.

Other Lego Star Wars droids are available, though. Chopper is adorable, costing $99.99 for over 1,000 pieces. And we are big fans of R2-D2, which again will cost $99.99 for 1,050 pieces. Both of those sets arguably offer much better value for money than BB-8.

We are spoilt for choice; now there are two of them. With the Artemis 2 mission set to launch (hopefully) any day now, there's never been a better time to celebrate the rocket that will usher in NASA's triumphant return to the moon. And what better way to do that than by building your own miniature Lego version of it to display at home?

But as the Star Wars quote in the opening line alluded to, there are now in fact two different Lego Artemis sets: the NASA Artemis Space Launch System, and the Lego Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket. We've reviewed both sets, and they're both among the best Lego space sets available right now, but which one should you choose?

While both kits represent the Artemis Space Launch System (SLS), they're very different builds intended for different audiences. Thankfully, figuring out which set is right for you isn't rocket science, as we've run through all the major differences below, along with the strengths and weaknesses of each kit. Let's blast off into the comparison.

Lego Artemis Face Off: Key specs

Looking at the key specs, the most obvious difference between the two sets is their size. The LEGO Icons Artemis set has over 3600 pieces — six times the piece count of the newer Technic Artemis kit. The result here is a much larger model, as you can see by the side-by-side comparisons.

The LEGO Icons Artemis also comes with the entire launch assembly and launch pad, creating a miniature diorama that's perfect as a display piece for Lego space set fans. The rocket itself is extremely well-detailed, with stickers proudly displaying the NASA and ESA logos, as well as smaller details like the door to the Orion crew vehicle. There are loads of cool details hidden throughout the set, too, with refuelling pipes and a moving bridge that connects the tower to the Orion module.

The LEGO Technic Artemis has its own party piece, though — a working launch mechanism, complete with booster and Orion module separation as the rocket "takes off". It achieves this through an array of gears, levers, and other moving parts that are hidden away in the display stand, along with the support tower that's hidden behind the rocket.

Turning the crank handle on the right-hand side of the set launches the rocket upwards, with the booster rockets splitting off not long after take-off. As the Artemis continues to ascend, the Orion module also detaches, being pulled upwards by a tensioned string pulley hidden away at the back. It's very cool to see the little upward on its own little trailer of blue flame. And when the spectacle is over, you can easily reset it by reversing the crank rotation.

Lego Artemis Face Off: Build

As a larger set, the LEGO Icons Artemis takes a lot longer to build than the Technic version. I was able to crank out the Technic set in one evening, but the Icons set took me the better part of a week.

With the LEGO Icons Artemis set, you'll build the base platform, the launch tower, and the rocket itself, meaning the set offers a surprising amount of build variety. As I noted in my Lego NASA Artemis Space Launch System review, there were loads of clever build techniques employed to keep things fresh. The instruction book also features a bunch of cool facts and history about the SLS — a wonderful touch for a NASA nerd like me.

By contrast, the Technic set is a much breezier affair, but as the name suggests, it's also made primarily from Technic Lego. That means lots of connecting gears and levers, and pushing those dastardly little plugs into holes. It's a little more punishing on the thumbs and fingers, and might not be as enjoyable to classic Lego fans. On the flip side, it's very cool to build a working machine, watching the rocket launch mechanism come together throughout the construction.

Both sets feature a bunch of stickers — the bane of a Lego builder's life — but these are just the price of doing business with modern Lego sets, and I will begrudgingly admit the details they provide are worth the hassle.

Lego Artemis Face Off: Price

The LEGO Icons NASA Artemis Space Launch System costs $259.99/£219.99, while the Lego Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket costs $59.99/£54.99.

If you're looking for a cheaper set, then obviously the Technic kit is the way to go, but the larger Icons set does offer better bang for your buck in terms of Lego pieces per dollar. It's a little over four times as expensive, but you get seven times the number of Lego pieces. The piece count doesn't take piece size into account. I'd say the amount of raw plastic you're getting is an even higher ratio.

On the plus side, both sets are substantially cheaper than the actual Artemis program, which was estimated to have cost NASA a whopping $93 billion by the end of 2025. So whichever set you choose, you're getting an absolute bargain (that's how I'd try to sell it to my partner anyway).

Which Lego Artemis set should you buy?

If money is no object, then I'd say grab them both.

They offer vastly different build experiences, and they're both going to be awesome additions to a Lego NASA or space-themed collection. In the real world, where money is very much an object, it depends on who you are and what you're looking to get out of a Lego Artemis set.

The Icons set is the better display model for sure; the larger scale allows for more detail, and the addition of the launch assembly makes it a real statement piece.

The larger piece count results in a larger and more detailed rocket, too. It's perfect for adult Lego collectors who want to explore and showcase their love for spaceflight and rockets. It's a big old set, though, so make sure you've got the space to display it once it's built.

The Technic set is definitely better for kids and young teenagers — especially if you're trying to spark their interest in space and STEM subjects. Seeing the rocket take off and watching the boosters and Orion module detach is awesome, and a great educational tool to explain how the actual SLS functions to curious youngsters.

At the same time, actually building the mechanism and assembling all the gears and pulleys is a little crash course in engineering and construction that's sure to get their own brain's cogs turning. The Technic set is also the more affordable of the two sets, which makes it the better choice for budget-conscious Lego space fans.

Side-by-side comparison

Back in 2024, Lego delivered an excellent (and huge) Icons model of the NASA Artemis Space Launch System. With a price tag of $260, a footprint of 10 x 11-inches and a height of 27.5-inches, however, not everyone has the budget or space to accommodate it. For those people, enter the brand new Lego Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket.

It costs less than a quarter of the Lego Icons version and yet, in terms of the rocket itself at least, looks just as realistic. While the larger NASA Artemis Space Launch System may have a more realistic scaffold, it lacks any sort of interactive functionality — and that’s where the new Technic version shines. By turning a crank, you’ll get to witness the rocket launching, showing three distinct stages. Not only does it boast a very clever design, but it’s an educational set, too.

For children with an interest in space, rockets and NASA, the Lego Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket is an absolute must-have. But even for the grown-ups amongst us, it’s a very enjoyable build that manages to be just challenging enough without ever being frustrating. It’s safe to say that this set will earn a place in our guide to the best Lego space sets currently available.

Lego Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket review: Build

• Easy to follow instructions
• Engaging and rewarding build
• Very clever Technic mechanism

You’ll need to carve out around two to three hours to put together the Lego Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket, although your exact mileage will depend on how well-versed you are at building Technic. Before you go into this set, it’s important to note that putting together a Technic set can be an altogether different experience from assembling a standard Lego set. Regular bricks are replaced with lugs and rods and, generally speaking, form is replaced with function. But while some Technic sets leave a lot to be desired, aesthetically speaking, I think the NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket lends itself very well to its Technic construction. It looks just as realistic as its Lego Icons counterpart, despite having five times fewer pieces.

Its smaller size means it’s an easier, quicker build, and its 9+ age rating indicates it’s suitable for kids and adults alike. I wouldn’t recommend giving this to a child as their first Lego build, but for someone with moderate experience in putting together Technic sets, it should be a straightforward and rewarding project.

Unsurprisingly, the rocket is one of the last parts that you build, with most of the legwork taken up with structure, form and technical innards. The first couple of bags are concerned with getting the mechanisms in place; essentially, a lever that will, eventually, raise and lower the rocket from a launch position to take off. It’s a clever set-up of cogs and rods, one that will delight and fascinate in equal measure — providing it’s all put together accurately. The instructions are clear and concise, and due to the age rating here, you’ll never be dealing with more than a few pieces at any one time, which makes things nice and easy to follow.

Lego Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket review: Design

• Very clever design
• Hidden mechanism that can be viewed via a lift-up flap
• Three-stage launch process

Lego, give the designers of the Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket a raise, because this is one of the best Technic sets I've built to date. Not only does it look wonderful (not to mention easily identifiable), but it features an incredibly clever mechanism that can launch the rocket.

Turning a crank on the bottom-right-hand side of the model will set in motion a system that rotates a large twisted rod, to which the rocket is attached. As this rod rotates, the rocket begins to ascend. When it reaches a certain point, its two rocket boosters will separate from the core, and the final stage of the launch will see the Orion spacecraft separate. Turn the crank the other way, and everything will return to a pre-launch position. If only a real rocket launch were so easy.

The main components of the mechanism are hidden in the base, for which you’ll build a plain black cover. Cleverly, you can lift up part of this cover to admire the cogs at any time and, in fairness, it is pretty satisfying to watch everything work as you turn the lever. Everything else is obscured by the rocket itself, so unless you turn the model around, you won’t see any of the chains and pulleys that keep the top part of the model sturdy when it’s released from the base.

The only real complaint is that you’ll need to keep both hands on the set as you turn the crank. It’s a little too lightweight and wobbly to turn with one hand, so you’ll need to use your other hand to keep it steady. It’s hardly a big deal, of course, but a little extra weight in the base to counteract this would have been nice.

Should you buy the Lego Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket?

You absolutely should buy Lego Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket. This is a seriously slick Technic set, with one of the best mechanisms I’ve seen to date. It’s simple but effective, and whether you’re looking for a set to educate a child about rockets or simply want a fun, realistic space-themed set for yourself, you absolutely cannot go wrong with this one. It’s an entertaining build too; despite having a fairly complex mechanism at the heart of it, the instructions are easy to follow.

The best thing? At $59.99, it’s not going to break the bank, either — and I often see Technic sets get pretty deep discounts during their lifetimes (though it’s worth every penny even at full price).

Other sets to consider

The most obvious alternative is the Lego Icons NASA Artemis Space Launch System. At 3,601 pieces and costing $259.99, however, this version is significantly bigger than the Technic version, and undoubtedly more complex to build. But it doesn’t feature any Technic mechanisms, and you certainly can’t launch this one. Given the weight of it, you certainly wouldn’t want to!

If you’re looking for a realistic space-themed set that’s more reasonably priced, I absolutely love the Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Exploration Telescope, which is worth every penny of its $34.99 asking price. It can also be built into a microscope or a tiny UFO, but the telescope itself is excellent. For another Technic set with moving parts, I’d recommend taking a look at the Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit. It’s a little pricier at $74.99, but it provides a nice model of the Earth and Moon, with a working orbit around the Sun.

It’s no secret that we love Lego Star Wars here at Space. From brick-built models of our favorite Star Wars characters to huge, detailed recreations of the best Star Wars ships, we've had just about every Star Wars icon imaginable. Some models we have loved more than others, however, and in this article, we'll be listing the 10 retired Lego Star Wars sets we wish would come back.

It's been a hard list to put together, in truth. Lego already frequently brings back popular Star Wars models in one form or another. We've had dozens of different Millennium Falcons, for example, and just as many Starfighters and TIE fighters. But they all come in different shapes and sizes, from playsets to epic Ultimate Collector's Series sets. Here, we're focusing on specific iterations of sets that we'd love to see make a return, whether it's a mid-sized Millennium Falcon or another huge Imperial Star Destroyer.

The sets we've chosen are all unique in one way or another, or provide something specific that we think is currently missing from the Lego Star Wars line-up. But with 2026 around the corner, we know dozens of new Star Wars sets will be incoming, so we'll have to wait and see what's going to be in store.

10 retired Lego Star Wars sets we wish would come back

For each of the sets listed below, we’ve included their original MSRP at launch, along with their market value now, both new and used. These are based on average prices of sales over the last six months via Bricklink.

Imperial Star Destroyer

It feels almost unfair that the Ultimate Collector's Series Millennium Falcon has been around for eight years now, with no signs of disappearing any time soon, while the Imperial Star Destroyer was retired after just three. While this huge ship was undoubtedly too big for most normal homes, there's something so iconic about the Imperial Star Destroyer design that we want Lego to bring it back.

Maybe a slightly smaller version would be ideal, though. Measuring 43 inches in length, it's still one of the longest Lego sets ever released, and so you'd need a huge amount of shelf space to display it. Still, the details here are incredible. Its huge exhaust engines are a stand-out feature, and it also comes with a tilting radar dish, intricate detailing and a scale model of a Tantive IV to give a sense of size (spoiler: it's huge).

Death Star II

We may have just got a brand new Ultimate Collector's Death Star, but we think there's room to bring back the long-retired Death Star II. This particular model is unlike any other Death Star set that's been and gone since, as it shows it mid-destruction. It's iconic and eye-catching, and because it's so different from the current model, we think they'd exist side-by-side rather nicely.

While this 3,449-piece set would have set you back $269.99 at launch, if you'd like to pick it up now, you’ll need at least $1,000 — more if you want a new and sealed set. Given it launched 20 years ago, though, it's not all that surprising, but it does mean we are well overdue for a new model.

Death Star

Yes, yes, another Death Star. But hear us out. There's a lot to like about the new UCS Death Star, but the most disappointing thing is, probably, the fact that it isn't spherical. It's simply a cutaway of a section of the Death Star, focusing on the rooms inside. As striking as it is, it misses something of the character of the model when it doesn't have that sphere-like shape.

This Death Star was also half the price of the current Death Star, and was just as interesting to look at, with plenty of dioramas and minifigures that told a story based on scenes from the Star Wars movie. While we certainly won't get another UCS Death Star in this decade, it would be nice to get a slightly smaller version repurposed as a playset. Kids deserve their own Death Star to play with, because there's no chance they're going to be allowed to touch mom and dad's.

Motorized Walking AT-AT

While we've had a lot of AT-AT sets, there's only ever been one motorized set, and it retired 15 years ago. As its name suggests, Lego Star Wars Motorized Walking AT-AT actually moved, something that seems quite a feat now. Perhaps it's that motorized Lego is much rarer these days than it used to be, or perhaps Lego doesn't see value in making its sets move. Whatever the reason, we wish the company would reconsider, because we'd love to own one of these.

While we never had one ourselves, the consensus of the Walking AT-AT was very positive. People say it moved perfectly, and while there were a few fiddly parts of the set that came off if you weren't careful, for the most part, it was a fantastic build. We're all very familiar with the AT-AT — there have been dozens of them made out of Lego, after all — but one that moves feels like such a treat that we're being deprived of.

Yoda

With C-3PO, R2-D2, Grogu and even Wicket the Ewok, brick-built characters are more common than ever. It's about time, then, that we had a new Lego Yoda. The last one, which retired in 2022, was highly received by us. In our Lego Yoda review, we said it's 'a great display piece that, thanks to its impressive height, makes quite a statement'.

We did find Yoda's hands perhaps a little alarming in sight, however, and his appearance is more blocky than we'd likely see in a more recent model. We'd love an updated version, perhaps with refined edges. Yoda's one of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars universe, so of course, we need a Lego model of him.

Super Star Destroyer

2019's Imperial Star Destroyer felt like a replacement for the Super Star Destroyer: although the ships are different shapes, they share similar dimensions. This one's a little bigger, in fact, measuring a whopping 50 inches in length. Phew. To think that 14 years ago, we could pick up a set that size with a price tag of $399.99 is, frankly, rather mad. Anyway, let's not dwell on it…

We've had a smaller version of this set more recently, in the form of the Executor Super Star Destroyer, and although it was a fantastic set, nothing quite compares to the sheer scale of this behemoth. Like most UCS models of ships, you'll need a lot of room to display it (and very deep pockets if you don't already own it), but there's no denying how impressive it is. We have our fingers crossed that an upcoming Ultimate Collector's Series set will be a version of the Super Star Destroyer, because in our opinion, it's very overdue.

Ewok Village

2013's Ewok Village is a very strange one, not least because we haven't had anything remotely similar to it since. But with the launch of a buildable Wicket, maybe it's a sign that Lego's finally giving the Ewoks some love, and a new Ewok Village is on its way. We can hope, anyway.

This was a hit-or-miss set when it launched back in 2013. Some people loved it because of how different it was. Others weren't impressed because it didn't quite fit the aesthetic of other Lego UCS sets, i.e. it wasn't a big, gray ship. But its uniqueness is what makes it stand out for us. With 16 minifigures and plenty of areas to explore and interact with (rope walkways, bedrooms, a planning room, a kitchen and realistic-looking foliage), it's a set we remember fondly and would love to see return to store shelves.

Millennium Falcon

Sure, you can't really beat the Ultimate Collector’s Edition Millennium Falcon, but we don't all have $800 to drop on a set. Currently, aside from the 'Dark' version, the only other available Millennium Falcon is the small desk-sized 25th Anniversary edition, and we'd love to see another model somewhere in between. The 2019 Millennium Falcon was a playset, but it was sufficiently detailed so that it was suitable for collectors, too.

In our review of Millennium Falcon 75257, we called it a 'fantastic alternative' to the more expensive version of the ship, praised its fun building process and said it would look great on any shelf. Sure, that 7,000-piece version is going to look better, but you need a much bigger shelf and a much bigger bank account. There really is a place for a mid-sized and mid-priced Millennium Falcon, and we've no doubt we won't be waiting too long to see one.

Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive

Lego has released lots of Starfighter ships, but very few come with a visible Hyperdrive. This set from 2017 was only around for just over a year before being discontinued, but it's one that we think very highly of simply because of how iconic — and unique — it is. While most Lego Jedi Starfighter ships tend to be small playsets, the addition of the Hyperdrive here makes this one feel much more like a substantial display set.

If you've still got one of these in a box, you've hit the jackpot, since it's worth almost four times its MSRP. Bad news if you were looking to pick one up, though. But since it's been seven years since Lego retired this set, it's very likely we could see something similar hit shelves soon. Or so we're hoping, anyway.

BB-8

Not everyone loves the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but no matter how you feel about it, you surely can't deny that BB-8 is a very cool little guy. One of our favorite droids, we loved the brick-built version that was released back in 2017. Like a mini UCS set, it even came with a display plaque, making it into quite the collector's piece. Of all the droids to be retired, we'd love to see BB-8 make a return sooner rather than later.

This rounded droid is a very fun-looking model, and thanks to its white and orange color scheme, it's bright and eye-catching too. It's an interesting build, given its shape, and it's a set that deserves a place in any discerning Lego Star Wars collection. It's been more than six years since it retired, so we feel like a re-release is surely overdue. We'd happily pay a bit more for a larger version, too.

To own the best U.S.S. Enterprise model on the market is something every Star Trek fan would love to do. We've reviewed both the Playmobil Enterprise and the brand-new Lego Enterprise, so which is better? We'll get into that below.

If you're a fan of Star Trek — and let's be real, if you weren't, you probably wouldn't be on this page — you'll probably be interested in the best U.S.S. Enterprise models on the market. Playmobil has enjoyed the title of being the major toy manufacturer with a seriously impressive Enterprise model, but Lego has now released its first-ever Star Trek set. We'll look at design, the features, the extras, the price and everything in between to determine which is best.

It's worth noting that these two sets, despite being models of the same ship, are vastly different. But, to answer the question of which is the best model, U.S.S. Enterprise, read on.

Design

When it comes to comparing the design of the two models, there are several things you can look at, despite the two models replicating the same ship. Firstly, the number of pieces that come with each set that you need to assemble. Lego's set offers you 3,600 pieces of building, while Playmobil offers a meager 150. That's simply because with Lego's set, the idea is to build the ship using lots of little plastic bricks, while the purpose of Playmobil's set is to assemble fewer, larger parts so you can get to playing with and displaying the set, along with the characters.

Naturally, Lego's new set is considerably more challenging and time-consuming to assemble. 3,600 pieces means you need to set aside several hours, if not a couple of days, to build this set. Large parts of it are mirrored, but it doesn't feel boring or repetitive. There are a couple of fiddly and flimsy parts towards the end, but overall it's an enjoyable build. Whereas Playmobil's Enterprise model has larger parts that clip together without any issue. The only fiddly details came from some smaller parts for the interior of the ship and plenty of stickers, but overall it was a relatively quick and enjoyable build.

Both sets are behemoths, although the Playmobil model dwarfs Lego's, measuring at 39.4 x 18.9 x 13.4 inches as opposed to 11 x 19 x 24 inches. Yes, Playmobil's model measures over a meter in length and can be hung from the ceiling, using the hanging wires included, whereas Lego's set comes on an angled stand to display.

Both can be played with, although they make for seriously impressive display items. The interior of the Playmobil can be accessed through a detachable roof, and it features LED lights and sound effects, too. Lego's set doesn't offer you anywhere near the same level of playability and really is designed as a display model for collectors and super-fans only.

Detail and Functionality

We touched on the playability of the Playmobil Enterprise and the lack of it in the Lego set. The Playmobil set does offer LED light effects as well as sound effects, so you can go boldly where no Playmobil set has gone in your own adventures, and you get an augmented reality app. The LEDs used are multicolor and the sound effects range from lines from fan-favorite characters to warning alerts and more. No such features appear in Lego's set.

That's not to badmouth Lego's set at all, it's an accurate and faithful recreation of the iconic ship. It comes with its own display stand and information plaque, which emblazons the back wall of the ship's bridge and features key facts about the Enterprise. While there are some stickers and printed parts (these include the ship's registration along with emblems and decor), these are great additions and not too much hassle to attach.

Both sets come with figures, or minifigures. In Playmobil's set, you get Captain Kirk, Spock, Uhura, McCoy, Sulu, Scotty and Chekov figures. Lego's differs though, as you get Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Commander William Riker, Lieutenant Worf, Lieutenant Commander Data, Dr. Beverly Crusher, Lieutenant Commander La Forge, Counselor Deanna Troi, Bartender Guinan and Wesley Crusher. They also come with accessories, which include a teacup, trombone with a stand, a phaser, tricorder, engineering case, PADD, bottle, portable tractor beam generator and a cat figure.

As mentioned in the section above, Playmobil's model also features some fine hanging wires, so your ship can hang from the ceiling and look as if it's venturing across the final frontier. While this isn't a feature of the Lego set, it probably wouldn't be a good idea, as a fall from any kind of height could put you back to square one with building it.

The key difference here is that one is so obviously a display piece and the other is a display piece with some cool playable features. The Lego set is aimed at those aged 18 and above, while the Playmobil set is for Trekkies over the age of 10. Yes, the Playmobil set is sturdier and has more playable features, but the Lego set has such great appeal.

Price

A key factor in deciding if something is worth it, or indeed whether or not you'll actually buy it, is the price. Now, it's worth noting that Playmobil's U.S.S. Enterprise model has been around for a few years now, so it's come down in price since it first hit store shelves.

Playmobil's model first cost $500, which is a lot. It now typically retails for between $250 and $350, going off its price history, which is considerably less.

Lego's brand-new U.S.S. Enterprise will set you back $399.99. This is steep, but you get more than just the joy of showing it off or imagining your own adventures — the experience of building the whole thing is great, and it's not just clipping together some large parts. It's a journey and an experience as opposed to a play and display model.

Verdict

It would be easy to sit on the fence and say they're both good. But that's not why you're here. It's also not why we wrote the article, as tempting as it is. In short, however, it depends on what you want from your set.

If you're looking for playable options and extra effects, the Playmobil model is the better option. There's far less hassle in the building process, it's (now) cheaper, and it features a removable roof along with light and sound effects, as well as an app.

However, if you're a collector, a Lego fan or if you want to proudly display your ship, it's the Lego U.S.S. Enterprise by a country mile. Yes, the Playmobil model is larger, but bigger isn't always better. The satisfaction of the build, the incredible detail on the finished model and it being displayed at an angle really sells the Lego Enterprise as the better model if you're looking for anything other than playability.

Over 30 Lego Star Wars sets have been released in 2025, which, if you're a collector, is an awful lot to keep up with. Especially considering that this year we've also seen the most expensive Lego Star Wars set ever released (the Ultimate Collector's Series Death Star, with its eye-watering $999.99 price tag — but more on that later). It’s been a very strong year for sets, though, with a good range of playsets and display sets, and plenty to please both adults and kids alike.

The Star Wars universe has had a quiet year with the second season of Andor on Disney Plus and… Well, that's about it. With sets typically based on current TV shows and movies, Lego hasn't had a great deal of new material to work with, which is perhaps why we’ve seen so many reimagined models. A new Death Star, a new Grogu, AT-S, we could go on.

Still, re-designed sets are no bad thing. The new UCS Death Star is like nothing we've seen before, and this year's Grogu With Hover Pram offers something completely different from 2020's The Child. There are some surprisingly unique designs, too, like a Star Wars logo for the first time, and a brick-built Wicket the Ewok.

It's hard to call 2025's Lego Star Wars releases anything but a success overall. Below, we'll go into more detail about the best Lego Star Wars sets from the year and exactly what made them a success.

Playsets

There's one thing to be said about the Lego Star Wars playsets of 2025: They've been expensive. Outside of battle packs and microfighters, the cheapest set released this year was $29.99 (A 92-piece 4+ Mando and Grogu's N-1 Starfighter). Pocket-money priced sets have simply not existed this year, with the majority of playsets costing upwards of $69.99 — some substantially more.

There’s the 815-piece Republic Juggernaut, for example, with a $159.99 price tag that rivals some Ultimate Collector's Series sets. Made up of 813 pieces, it's a rather unique set thanks to its 10 large wheels. And thanks to steering that works simply by tilting the model, it's a fun set to play with.

There's also the 976-piece Battle of Felucia Separatist MTT, another set with a price tag of $159.99. Based on The Clone Wars, this blue and gray vehicle comes with an army of Battle Droids and Commando Droids featuring plenty of moving parts, stud shooters and opening panels to access the interior.

Neither of them is a bad set, but it does make us wonder what the cut-off price should be for a playset. It's a lot of money for something that children will roll and swoosh around. More reasonably, we've had the $54.99 Force Burner Snowspeeder, the only set to release this year under Lego's fun 'Rebuild the Galaxy' sub-theme. There was also the 707-piece Jango Fett's Starship, which cost $69.99 — a nice alternative for those who didn't want to pay for the larger UCS version.

A smattering of other sets finish off the round-up of Lego Star Wars playsets from 2025, including Ahsoka's Jedi Interceptor for $44.99 and a $69.99 Rebel U-Wing Starfighter. There are some decent sets in here, but it's hard not to be a little disappointed with the lack of sub-$40 sets.

Display sets

Where playsets have lacked a little in 2025, Lego Star Wars display sets have certainly shone. These sets have come in a range of shapes and sizes, with surprisingly reasonable prices in some cases. Not all sets carry an 18+ age rating, with some builds being more family-friendly than others (including the excellent Grogu and Hover Pram, which we rated very highly at the beginning of the year).

It's been a great year for mid-size ships, with three more of these added to Lego's line-up: Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle, Home One Starcruiser and Acclamator-Class Assault Ship. Carrying a price tag of just $49.99, we think the Acclamator-Class Assault Ship is one of the best Lego Star Wars sets of the year, packing in a great amount of detail in a small, manageable package.

The Brick-Built Star Wars Logo has also been a pleasant surprise, and a set we thoroughly enjoyed building this year. Its MSRP is just $59.99, which feels reasonable enough, but we've frequently seen it discounted, too. While it might not be the most exciting set ever designed, it's a great addition to any Star Wars display or makes for a great backdrop.

Lego Star Wars helmets have had a good year, after a two-year hiatus between March 2023 and March 2025. They came back with a bang, with three helmets making it onto shelves: Kylo Ren, Jango Fett and AT-AT Driver. A great selection, with the standout being the AT-AT Driver thanks to its unique design and colorful injection of red.

That's far from it, either. We've also had a strong selection of 10+ and 12+ age-rated display models, some of which we've never seen before. We've already mentioned Grogu with Hover Pram, but we also got a model of K-2SO, Chopper, a Battle Droid with STAP and, of course, a brick-built Wicket the Ewok.

Ultimate Collector's Series sets

2025 has been a momentous year for UCS sets, for more than one reason. First, we've had three Ultimate Collector's Series sets in 12 months – that's the first time it's happened since 2002. Second, one of the sets (the Death Star) is a record-breaker on two counts: it's the largest Star Wars set ever released, in terms of piece count, and it's the most expensive Lego set to date.

But first, let's talk about the two smaller UCS sets. First was Jango Fett's Firespray Class Starship, released in May. Costing $299.99, it's very much a mid-priced set, and being similar to Boba Fett's Starship (and Slave 1 before it), it isn't the most elusive or attractive set on the market. Following it in August came the AT-ST Walker. Again, not the most innovative set — we've had several AT-STs before — but it's the first time we've had an UCS version. And with a price tag of $199.99, it's one of the most reasonably priced Ultimate Collector's models we’ve had in years. A big win for people who don't have a huge Lego budget but still want something aimed at adult collectors.

And for the people who do have a huge Lego budget? That's where the $999.99 Death Star comes in. We have mixed feelings about this set. On the one hand, it's hugely impressive due to its side. On the other hand, it's far too expensive and the fact that it's only a cutaway of the Death Star, rather than a complete sphere, gives us pause. Is it as good as 2016's Death Star? It's down to personal opinion, really.

Overall, it's safe to say we've been spoiled on the UCS front this year, with something to suit practically all budgets. We're intrigued to see if we'll get three sets in 2026, or if Lego will go back to delivering the standard two.

Festive specials

We had to mention the fantastic Gingerbread AT-AT Walker, which was released alongside this year's festive sets. Costing $59.99 and being made up of 697 pieces, it not only offers excellent value for money, but it's one of the most fun Lego Star Wars sets we've seen in a while. This gingerbread-colored AT-AT is decorated with holiday lights and white strips made to look like icing — it's simply adorable.

Of course, we also got an obligatory Star Wars Advent calendar for 2025. Its price has remained steady at $44.99, as it has been for a number of years, although its value is questioned by how much you like the minifigures and miniature builds included in any given year. This year, the standout minifigures are a unique printed C3PO and Jawa wearing a holiday sweater.

In summary

It’s been a very strong year for Lego Star Wars, particularly for grown-ups and collectors. For Star Wars fans with an excess of disposable cash, the Ultimate Collector's Series Death Star is surely a must-have. But even for fans with more limited income, the wide range of display models available has made 2025 a very good year indeed.

It's perhaps not been a great year for playsets, with the best playsets costing almost as much as a lower-priced UCS set. There have been very few sets under $40, aside from a smattering of battle packs and Microfighters, but we see those every year. Hopefully, Lego strengthens its offerings at the bottom end of its price range for next year.

Overall, though, we can't be too disappointed. The good certainly outweighs the bad, with some truly unique sets landing on shelves over the last 12 months. We can't pick a favorite, but we do have a soft spot for Grogu, and the Acclamator-Class Assault Ship is still one of the best value sets we've seen this year.

I'm a huge fan of the Space Shuttle programme, and shed a tear when the last shuttle was retired in 2011. Admittedly, it wasn't particularly cost-effective, but for me, it was the face of post-Space Race space travel. The International Space Station likely wouldn't exist without it.

Now, thanks to Lego's Icons range, you can commemorate the Space Shuttle, carried as it often was, on the back of a Boeing 747. This 2,417-piece Lego Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft is effectively the replacement for the also-retired Lego NASA Space Shuttle Discovery set, albeit with a slightly higher price tag at $229.99 / £199.99.

At 25 inches long, it's not as big as, say, the Lego UCS Star Wars Venator set, but you'll still need a reasonably-sized table or unit to display it on; it's unlikely to fit on your average shelf. It'll take you 8 - 10 hours to build, which leaves the question: Is it worth the effort?

Lego Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft: The build

• A fun build, with some interesting techniques
• Shuttle and jet each have their own instruction book
• Includes 19 stickers, too many for our taste

The Lego Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft took me ten hours to put together, working at a relatively leisurely pace. It's split into sixteen paper bags, which seems daunting at first, but it means you'll never have to look far for the piece you need.

It's split into two builds and two manuals. One for the Space Shuttle Enterprise and one for the plane, a Boeing 747, used to taxi the shuttle back and forth. The set's rated for builders 18+, but the shuttle is within the reach of junior builders and, taking three or so hours to put together, shouldn't test their patience too much.

The bigger set, the jet, is a little fiddlier and requires more dexterity to assemble, so I'd recommend that it be an adult-assisted build at least. If you're working solo, it's advisable to start with the shuttle. That's not to ease yourself into the build, however. Instead, it's because once you've got the shuttle together, you can glance at it to spur you on through the jet's initial section.

Because, while the Lego Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft is, on the whole, a fun set to assemble, it's not super motivating to start with a chunk of skinless fuselage that resembles nothing in particular.

Fortunately, once you're over that speed bump, the build comes into its own, taking on the shape and coloring of the custom Boeing 747. It's constructed in sections, beginning with the central fuselage and gears, then the cockpit, the tail, the wings and finally the tail fins.

This build employs a diverse and satisfying range of building techniques that will have you smiling when, section by section, it all comes together. Admittedly, I was puzzled as to why that opening jet section required so many cogs and connectors. But I had a big grin on my face as I turned the cog on the underside and watched the plane's gears raise and lower.

A neat touch is the way that the four engines attach, using a combination of a hinged piece and a flat triangle to hold each steady. I'd never in a million light-years have come up with that.

Unfortunately, there is one blot on this build, and that's the presence of 19 (count 'em) stickers. The majority of these are used to apply the NASA etc logos to the shuttle and the jet and, statistically, you're bound to get a hair or a piece of dust behind one of them. That, or you'll end up having to realign them to get everything just right.

Unfortunately, these stickers are transparent, which amplifies the visibility of smudges and fingerprints. My shuttle and jet are currently displayed facing left, because the right-side NASA sticker is faintly off-white.

Lego Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft: Design

Unlike the Lego City Modular Space Station, which we also reviewed, the Lego Icons Shuttle Aircraft Carrier is not built with play in mind. The shuttle itself is sturdy enough to be swooshed around outside, but while the jet is just as well put together, it's so large that I wouldn't recommend it. I already bumped a Lego Star Wars AT-ST to its doom today, and I'm not repeating that mistake.

However, there is a degree of interactivity in that the space shuttle can be removed from the plane. Unlike the jet itself, the landing gear has to be physically removed, but they, with the engines, can be stored neatly inside the shuttle's cargo bay.

The one snag is that the shuttle's cargo bay doors can catch, to the point you may need two fingers to close them properly. It's not a deal-breaker, but given how much effort Lego has put into getting the set right (stickers aside) it's slightly disappointing.

The set's appearance, however, is anything but a letdown. You have the option of displaying it on the included stand, in a take-off position, and that's absolutely the best way to behold it. It's a seriously striking set, and as accurate as you could hope for, given its scale.

You don't have to apply much pressure to remove and reattach the shuttle from the jet; unlike the wheels and the engines, there's nowhere to store the tail cone. Nor will you be peeking inside the jet, not least because it isn't minifigure scale.

But it's still impressively detailed, down to the aforementioned working gears, and gorgeous to look at. And, if you're a relative stranger to the space shuttle, the base plaque and the manuals contain a host of useful factoids.

Should you buy the Lego Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft?

If you've the slightest interest in the space shuttle, and aren't buying for play, this Lego Icons Shuttle Aircraft Carrier is absolutely worth your money, especially since the previous shuttle set has been retired. Am I okay with all those stickers? No, but unless Lego takes their NASA range to the next level, I can't see them manufacturing printed elements for one or two sets.

Perched atop a suitably sized shelf or table, this is as impressive and as accurate as you could hope a set of this scale to be, and it's a blast to build, too. And while it's worth the $229 asking price, it's always worth keeping your eyes open for the best Lego deals; I saved 20% on this set during Black Friday.

Other sets to consider

If you're looking for a more play-friendly but still realistic set, consider the Lego Creator 3-in-1 Space Astronaut, or if it's a pocket-friendly sci-fi ship you're after, have a look at this Lego Interstellar Spaceship. The Lego City Modular Space Station makes a nice companion piece to this set. Or if you've got a little more to spend and want a spacecraft that's still in active use, this Lego NASA Artemis Space Launch System is for you.

When it began, Lego's range of sets centered around Marvel superheroes was squarely aimed at children. Sets were small and basic, easy for young hands to build independently.

There are still plenty of those around, of course, but as time has gone on, more and more adult-focused Lego Marvel sets have been introduced into the range. Adult-focused sets generally mean expensive sets — and so here we are looking at the 10 most expensive Lego Marvel sets you can get.

Compared to Lego Star Wars, Marvel sets are relatively inexpensive. Of course, there are the outliers — the number one set on this list will set you back $499.99. But with Lego Star Wars sets costing up to $1,000 and a large range of Ultimate Collector's Series sets, it's much more aimed at collectors than Marvel. In this list, there's a good mix of playsets and adult-focused display sets, ranging between $100 and $500.

10 most expensive Lego Marvel sets you can get

1. Avengers Tower

Here we have it: the most expensive Lego Marvel set currently available. The impressive, meter-tall Avengers Tower costs a staggering $499.99, but at 5201 pieces and 36 inches tall, it's worth every penny for the amount of detail it packs. It's the ultimate set for any Marvel fan, and it’s one we're very proud to have in our collection.

Like The Daily Bugle, Avengers Tower comes with a lot of minifigures: 31 in total here. The most popular Marvel characters all feature here, along with some less common choices. The collection includes Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man, Nick Fury, Wong, Hawkeye, Wanda Maximoff and a whole lot more.

But it's the building itself that really sells this set. The glass-fronted Avengers Tower really shines in Lego form, and the careful details included here help bring it to life. It's striking from the outside, but lift away the side of the building and you'll find lots of detail inside, too. There's space for all the minifigures to exist within and around the tower, as well as space to recreate iconic scenes from the Avengers movie franchise. It's a set that will take pride of place on any Lego display — as long as you've got enough space for it.

2. Daily Bugle

One of the first adult-focused Lego Marvel sets to hit the shelves, we'll be sad when the Daily Bugle retires. It's been around for four years now, so if you don't yet own it, we’d recommend picking it up sooner rather than later. This 32-inch-tall skyscraper not only packs in a huge amount of detail, but it also has an epic collection of 25 minifigures. It's a collector's dream, basically.

We won't list each and every minifigure, but there's a fantastic mix of heroes and villains; pretty much everyone you'd expect to find from the Spider-Man universe, with some more left-field choices such as Spider-Ham and lesser-seen minifigures such as Black Cat, Punisher and Blade. They can be placed in and around the Daily Bugle building, with many minifigures designed to be hung on the outside, making it look like it's the site of an epic battle.

The building itself is a joy to behold, though. Some of its windows are made to look like they've been blown out, mid-explosion, and the fronts of each floor can lift away to allow access to the interior. You'll find fully kitted-out offices here, with plenty of neat details to enjoy. Perhaps the highlight, though, is the brick-built Daily Bugle sign that sits atop the building: it's a truly iconic feature.

3. X-Men: The X-Mansion

With the X-Mansion, we're still in serious collector's territory. This 3,093-piece set is packed with stunning detail and a strong suite of minifigures to bring it to life. It's an 18+ set, so it's firmly in display territory, but its modular design with lift-away storeys makes it impossible not to want to play with it.

This is a set absolutely packed with details that fans of X-Men will adore. The Mansion has a fully-furnished interior, where you'll find Professor X's laboratory, Wolverine's bedroom, a medical lab, a classroom, a library and a Danger Room training facility. There are plenty of accessories in each room, too, and space for the 10 included minifigures to exist within the building.

The included minifigures are Wolverine, Professor X, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, Gambit, Rogue, Iceman, Bishop and Magneto. There's also a large buildable Sentinel figure. It may be expensive, but we think the Lego Marvel X-Men: X-Mansion offers excellent value, and it's a set you'll be proud to have on display.

4. Guardians of the Galaxy: The Milano

If you like ships and vehicles, the Milano is quite possibly the Lego Marvel set for you. It's not the first version of the iconic Guardians of the Galaxy ship we've had, and it probably won't be the last, but it is the largest and the most detailed. With an age rating of 12+, this sits somewhere between being a playset and a display set. It features a brick-built display stand, though the ship has enough moving parts that those who do want to play with it won't be disappointed.

Guardians fans will love the minifigures included here: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and a tiny Baby Groot. Made up of 2090 pieces, the ship features plenty of detail too: the top lifts off, providing full access to the interior, where you'll find a chill-out area, a flight deck and a communal area. There's space for the minifigures to exist in these areas, if you want to play with the set.

If not? This is a stunning-looking model, and its stand is sturdy enough to hold it in a flight position. The blue and orange detailing to the exterior make it an eye-catching model, and the adjustable wings and moveable rear boosters add some welcome detail, too.

5. Spider-Man vs. Oscorp

For Lego fans who enjoy cityscapes and building their own Lego City, we think Lego Marvel Spider-Man vs. Oscorp is a great choice, even if it is a little pricey given its size. Despite having almost 500 pieces fewer than the Iron Man Mark 3 set, it will set you back $10 more, making this the most expensive pure playset on this list. If you like dioramas, imaginative play and minifigures, however, it may be worth the asking price.

Spider-Man vs. Oscorp comes with eight minifigures: Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Miles Morales, Eddie Brock, Ghost-Spider, Norman Osborn, Kraven the Hunter and Green Goblin. There's a nice mixture of heroes and villains for kids to play with, and of course, there are plenty of interactive features on the set to facilitate that.

To start with, Miles comes with a motorbike and Green Goblin comes on his glider. The building itself has plenty of neat details too: it features Miles Morales' apartment, the Oscorp building and Venom's apartment, each one filled with relevant details to bring the spaces to life.

6. Iron Man Mark 3 Collectors' Edition

Here's an upcoming set, due to launch on January 1st. A brick-built model of Iron Man Mark 3, it's very much designed to be looked at and admired rather than played with.

Iron Man Mark 3 does have poseable limbs, however. It features a jointed neck, waist, shoulders, wrists and hands, which allows you to recreate numerous iconic Iron Man poses. The legs are the only parts that don't move, but they're positioned to offer optimum stability to the model.

We're quite excited to get our hands on this model, actually: at $129.99, it's a good price point for a display set that offers a great amount of detail without breaking the bank. It's also not too large that it's going to dominate a living space: at 15 inches tall, it's big enough to command attention without taking over.

7. Avengers: Age of Ultron Quinjet

We'd say that Lego Marvel Avengers: Age of Ultron Quinjet is equal parts play and display. Thanks to a brick-built display stand, the model will look fantastic on a shelf. But it can easily be lifted away, swooshed through the air, and opened up to be interacted with. Whether you want smaller hands playing with a $130 set, that's up to you. But Lego gives you the option.

The set comes with five minifigures that Avengers fans will surely love: Black Widow, Iron Man, Quicksilver, Ultimate Ultron and Hawkeye. Black Widow also comes with her iconic motorcycle, and Hawkeye is equipped with a bow and arrow.

The ship itself has plenty of interactive parts. The cockpit opens up, with room for three minifigures inside, and there's a rear door that opens up to allow Black Widow's motorcycle to drive in and out. Oh, and the stand included in the set can be rotated 360 degrees, which is a seriously impressive touch, especially for a set at this price point.

8. Spider-Man Final Battle

While Lego Marvel Spider-Man Final Battle is categorized as a playset, with an age rating of 10+, we think it's more suited to being a display set. The set is essentially a model of the head of the Statue of Liberty covered in scaffolding, with a good selection of minifigures all battling it out around it.

The minifigures here are perhaps the strongest part of the set, and are the reason it carries a $109.99 price tag. It comes with three different versions of Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland), Electro, Doctor Strange, Green Goblin, Ned, MJ and Doc Ock. The set is designed in such a way that minifigures can be positioned to look like they're flying through midair, while others can grab hold of a scaffold or perch on a narrow beam to signify action. It's an effective-looking set that really does benefit from being admired rather than played with.

There are some interactive features, however. Our favorite is that the Sandman's hand can pop out of the top of the model. There's also a flap at the back that reveals a portal, and a soft web that can be used to entangle enemies.

9. Spider-Man vs. Mysterio: The Daily Bugle

Lego Marvel Spider-Man vs. Mysterio: The Daily Bugle is a brand new set, available to pre-order now for a January 2026 release. What's particularly neat is that this is essentially a scaled-down version of the larger, designed-for-adults Daily Bugle set, turned into a playset suitable for kids. Of course, it's nowhere near as detailed as that larger version, but as far as playsets go, it looks rather neat, and comes with a decent range of minifigures (Spider-Man, Miles Morales, Ghost Spider, J. Jonah Jameson, Mysterio, Venomized Captain America and Rhino).

The four-floor skyscraper that forms the Daily Bugle office is open at the back, but each room has been furnished with some nice little details. There's an office space, a newsroom tech suite and a reception area, along with an opening safe and a working lever that changes the billboard on top of the building. Since it's designed for play, there are plenty of accessories that the included minifigures can pick up and interact with, such as a photocopier machine, a skateboard, Captain America's shield, a pizza tray and more.

That's not to say that it won't still look rather nice on display if you've not managed to pick up the larger version of the set. Standing 13 inches tall, it's only a third of the height of the larger, The Daily Bugle set, but it's substantial enough to be eye-catching on a shelf or desktop.

10. Marvel Logo and Minifigures

A brick-built Marvel logo isn't going to be for everyone, but if you have a Lego Marvel display, we think this will make the perfect centerpiece. Not only does it feature an accurate and sizeable recreation of the Marvel logo, but it comes with five minifigures (Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Black Widow) that literally break out of the model when it's put on display. It's a neat and effective touch that elevates this set from being more than just a logo.

In our Marvel Logo and Minifigures review, we praised the mechanisms that form part of the pop-out system. There's a bit of Technic work involved, which elevates the build somewhat, making it a little more interesting and taxing. It is a little on the expensive side, though, considering what it is. But still, at nearly 1,000 pieces, it doesn't offer bad value for money, even if it's not the most exciting Lego Marvel set there's ever been.

Move over, Star Wars, and get out of here, Marvel, because there is finally an official Star Trek Lego set… and what a set. The first Star Trek Lego set was always going to be some variation of the USS Enterprise, but as a massive The Next Generation stan, I'm glad that it was my beloved: the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D.

With an 18+ recommended age rating and a hefty 3600-piece count, it's certainly not for the faint of heart. That's fine, though, because I have to imagine that just about everyone who wants one of these things is someone who watched the original show back in the day. Who knows, though, maybe Paramount+ is bringing in the next generation of Next Generation fans?

It's also a hefty $400 — a price point that will make you yearn for the moneyless society of the show. So, was it worth the wait, and is it worth the money? Let's head into the review at warp seven and find out.

Lego U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D: Build

• Body constructed with two mirrored halves
• 3600 pieces
• Some easy-to-apply stickers and printed pieces

The Lego Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D is made from 3600 pieces, split across 30 different bags and two instruction books. The first book covers the ship's main body and the flight stand, while the second book is devoted to the saucer section.

To make it so, the build starts with the main body and wings that hold the nacelles (aka the ship's warp engines). You actually construct the body from two mirror halves, which are then attached using several long cross-axle pieces (the long plus-shaped bars). I was especially impressed with how the designers crafted the main deflector array — that blue oval on the front of the ship that's always firing off tractor beams and tachyon pulses — which is made from two, custom-printed cockpit windscreen pieces that you invert, creating the concave shape of the array.

With the body constructed, it's time for a quick detour to assemble the flight stand, as the fixed position it offers makes attaching the engines much easier.

Speaking of which, you'll move on to building the nacelles themselves, which make good use of blue and red transparent pieces to recreate the iconic look of the ship's glowing engines. Once assembled, the nacelles slot into place nicely, and by this point, you've got a working ship… as long as you don't mind commanding your daft-looking ship from the battle bridge.

The back half of the build is a lot more technical, as you're building a larger circular disc out of square and rectangular Lego pieces. This feat is achieved by first constructing a central frame, similar to the spokes of a wheel, and then attaching it to the main body. I ran into an issue here, as I discovered I'd made a mistake in section 1 that only reared its ugly head here. A single piece was rotated 90 degrees in the wrong direction, and it stopped the saucer from slotting in. Fortunately, I was able to repair it without disassembling the entire thing, but my heart did stop for a second when I discovered my mistake.

Once the frame is in place, you then attach the top panels, which use angled pieces and hinge attachments, slotting together into a damn impressive approximation of a circle.

Things get trickier from here, though, as the final stretch has you repeating this process on the underside of the ship. The instruction book seems to imagine that you've got infinite room to work underneath the ship while doing this, but in practice, it's quite tricky. I gave up in the end and just flipped the whole thing over, which felt very sketchy, and I ended up knocking a few random pieces off during the operation.

Despite my brief (and self-inflicted) cardiac episode, I had a fantastic time building the Enterprise. The nine minifigures are scattered throughout the build, providing a nice palette cleanser as you work through this sizeable build. They're all simple to construct as you'd expect, though Riker's trombone is an impressive — and rickety — piece of engineering.

Some mirror sections effectively call for you to build the same thing twice, but the fact that it's mirrored — and not identical — keeps you on your toes. There are some special printed pieces, along with some stickers scattered throughout the build, but they're all easy enough to apply.

Lego U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D: Design

• Great display model
• Comprehensive collection of minifigures
• Can be a little fragile to handle when completed

I've been waiting a very long time for a Lego Star Trek set, and I'm thrilled to say the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D was worth the wait. The design team has perfectly replicated the iconic starship in exquisite detail — no small feat given its awkward size and shape. I was skeptical of how the circular saucer section would look when built out of flat-edge pieces, but it looks stunning.

Some easter eggs are hiding around the ship that fans will appreciate, including the dedication plaque that emblazons the back wall of the Enterprise's bridge (complete with a hilarious typo). Sadly, this set isn't big enough to have a minifig scale bridge hidden inside it, so the plaque lives in a hidden compartment instead.

Speaking of minifigures, the collection included here is comprehensive, with almost all of your favorite characters from the show (bad luck to the Tasha Yar and Chief O'Brien stans out there). They all look wonderful, each with their own unique accessories ranging from Worf's phaser through to Riker's ridiculous trombone.

There are some unique Lego pieces used here, too, including Worf's "hair" and Guinan's flamboyant headpiece. There is a platform to store the minifigs on, and a printed display piece with cool facts and figures about the Enterprise on it, too.

Another neat touch is the "pin" that locks the saucer section in place, which is cleverly disguised as a shuttlecraft approaching the shuttlebay. It's a cute piece of design, though the detachable saucer section itself is — much like in the show — a gimmick that you'll rarely use.

The model is too fragile to handle (since completing it, I knocked a piece off while showing it off on webcam and can not for the life of me find where it came from). Beyond that, there is no display stand to hold the saucer section on its own, so unless you're recreating the end of Star Trek: Generations, it's not worth detaching.

Should you buy the Lego U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D?

If you're a Star Trek fan and a Lego collector, of course, you should buy this set. And by the looks of it, a lot of you already did because the Lego U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D sold almost immediately out on launch day. If you missed the first wave, don't worry, because we're sure it'll be back in stock at warp speed.

The Enterprise is a brilliant set to build and a gorgeous display piece when it's done. It's expensive, as you'd expect from a 3,600-piece Lego set, but I think it's well worth the price of admission for Trekkies. Your wallet's shields never stood a chance.

Other Lego sets to consider

As we said in the intro, the Lego U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D is the first and only Star Trek Lego set out there for now (unless you count the Type-15 Shuttlepod that came with the pre-order), so we don't have any other Trekkie sets to recommend to you.

If you're agnostic in the Trek vs Wars divide, there are plenty of amazing Star Wars Lego sets to consider, though. My personal favorite is the Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, an enormous 5,374-piece monster that dwarfs even the Enterprise.

If the $649.99/£559.99 price tag on that set has triggered a red alert from your bank, there are some cheaper sets we love too; namely, the Mos Espa Podrace Diorama and the adorable Grogu with Hover Pram, both of which can be had for under $100.

Lego has released a $1,000, 9,023-piece Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) Death Star, which dethrones the UCS Millennium Falcon for the most expensive and largest Lego Star Wars set available, but which is best?

Of course, these two rank among the best Lego Star Wars sets available, in our opinion, but if Star Wars isn't necessarily your thing, you could check out the best Lego Marvel sets and best Lego space sets.

Below, we take a look at the size, the design, the features, the price and everything in between for these two behemoths, to determine which is the better set. These two sets are a collector's dream and would be the centerpiece of any collection, but both offer more than what meets the eye, making them great display models with playable options.

UCS Millennium Falcon versus UCS Death Star: Size and Dimensions

Since its release in 2017, the Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon has reigned supreme as the largest and highest piece count Lego Star Wars set on the market. That is, until the UCS Death Star came out in October 2025.

The Lego Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon measures at 8 x 33 x 23 inches (height x length x width) when finished and it comes with 7,541 pieces. These pieces build the model, which is a commanding centerpiece model, thanks to its impressive size, and put together several playable features. It has seven standing legs, so it doesn't need a display stand to be perfectly balanced.

If you thought that was impressive, wait until you check out the UCS Death Star. Measuring at 28 x 32 x 11 inches (height x width x depth), it has a larger total area than the Millennium Falcon, and with 9,023 pieces, it comes with nearly 1,500 more pieces. It also comes with 28 more minifigures (38 compared to 10) and the range is more satisfying, with different Luke Skywalkers and Han Solos, as well as Darth Vader, Obi-Wan, The Emperor, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and more.

If size is important to you, or at least a considerable factor in deciding which is better, then overall, you'd have to go with the UCS Death Star. It literally has more pieces, minifigures and takes up more space. However, we all know that size isn't the only thing to consider in a Lego set, and we'll get into what both sets offer, outside of sheer size alone, below.

UCS Millennium Falcon versus UCS Death Star: Design and Features

If the substance of a Lego set is a key factor in whether or not you get it, then you'll want to take note of what both sets offer. Perhaps surprisingly, then again, maybe not given the price tags, there's more than meets the eye with both sets. While they're both stand-out display models, they do have playable features.

The Millennium Falcon has plenty of movable parts and purpose-built spaces to fit minifigures inside. A lowerable boarding ramp, a concealed canon, removable hull panels, a cockpit with space for four minifigures with a removable canopy, seven standing legs, sensor dishes and laser canons all feature on the exterior.

Other features on the Millennium Falcon include, but are not limited to, an engine room, a hidden floor compartment, escape pod hatches, an engineering console, a fully rotating quad laser canon, a doorway with passageway decoration and more. All of this is included with the stunning detail of the overall look of this model when complete.

The Death Star is considerably different. That's because its interior is always on display as the set is a look inside the Death Star, as opposed to the exterior of the model. With this set, you get different rooms showcasing iconic scenes throughout the original trilogy. This includes, but is not limited to, the Emperor's Throne Room, the trash compactor room, the hangar, the tractor beam, which Obi-Wan deactivates, the room from where the laser to destroy Alderaan is fired, the roundtable where Darth Vader utters the immortal words, "I find your lack of faith disturbing" and more. An ideal set to build while watching the Star Wars movies in order, perhaps.

On top of the rooms, several playable features appear in this set, too. The trash compactor's walls move, there's a retractable bridge in the room with Luke and Leia's escape from Stormtroopers and there's a fully functional elevator. Interestingly, this Death Star set is a slice of the Death Star and quite literally a circle with a bit of depth and split into sections for rooms, whereas the Millennium Falcon is the complete ship with removable panels for interior play.

UCS Millennium Falcon versus UCS Death Star: Price

If you're on a budget, look away now. These sets are the two most expensive Lego Star Wars sets on the market, and both price tags are clear representation of the size, detail and collector-target audience of the sets.

The Millennium Falcon set cost $849.99 upon its release in 2017 and while there are occasionally Lego Star Wars deals to reduce this price tag, it does still cost this much. Unfortunately, the Death Star is even more expensive at $999.99 upon its release, and we're yet to see discounts on this set.

UCS Millennium Falcon versus UCS Death Star: Verdict

So, the 7,541-piece Millennium Falcon or the 9,023-piece Death Star, which is better? On the one hand, you have a spaceship, a complete model, jam-packed with detail, some fan-favorite minifigures and lots of hidden features and playable features, too. On the other hand, a larger set with more obvious playable options, with triple the minifigures and the recreation of several iconic scenes.

On balance, we think the UCS Millennium Falcon reigns supreme as the best Lego Star Wars set credits can buy. It's too stunning to ignore. 7,541 pieces is still a substantial number, and the volume of surprising and playable features all adds up. Not to mention, its retail price is $150 less, and it's a complete model, not just a slice or an inside look of the real thing.

We don't want to put you off the UCS Death Star set, and if you're a collector, you shouldn't be. But, we think the Millennium Falcon is just too much to ignore, and if you're weighing up these two titans of the Lego Star Wars world, the UCS Millennium Falcon is the best there is.

Lego Star Wars sets have been around for more than 25 years, and in that time, we've seen some seriously impressive sets. The best Lego Star Wars sets typically carry a very expensive price tag, however, and so if you're a serious collector, you're going to have to spend some serious credits. Here, we've rounded up the most expensive Lego Star Wars sets currently available, with price tags stretching all the way up to an eye-watering $1000. Phew.

Almost every set in this list is an Ultimate Collector's Series set, meaning it's one designed with adults in mind, created to be displayed rather than be played with. You can play with these sets, if you want, but we wouldn't recommend letting your five-year-old get heavy-handed with your UCS Millennium Falcon. It'll all just end in tears when you're left picking up 7,500 loose pieces off the floor — don't say we didn't warn you.

Read on to find the 10 most expensive Lego Star Wars sets. We've omitted any sets that have since retired: these are just the sets still available to buy today, and we're basing prices on the MSRP as set by The Lego Store.

10. The Dark Falcon

Part of an alternative universe Star Wars range, released alongside the launch of Disney Plus series Rebuild the Galaxy, The Dark Falcon is the only set on this list aimed at kids. It's not surprising, really: the most expensive Lego sets are generally reserved for adults. And at $179.99, this one's tipping the scales a bit. But for fans looking for something a little different, it's a great choice. And let's face it: it's a lot cheaper than the other Millennium Falcon on this list.

The Dark Falcon reimagines what might have been if the iconic Millennium Falcon was instead commandeered by the dark side. It recolors the ship black, making it unique from other Lego models of the Millennium Falcon, and it comes with six minifigures. Amusingly, some of the minifigures also resemble characters that have also swapped to the dark side: there's Darth Jar Jar, Bounty Hunter C-3PO, Darth Dev and Darth Rey. Darth Vader has switched parties, too, and here, he's Jedi Vader. Luke, for some reason, is kitted out for the beach as Beach Luke. Clearly, he just doesn't want to be battling in this universe.

Being aimed at children, the Dark Falcon is designed to be a playset. You'll find lift-up panels to grant access to the interior, where there are clearly designated zones: a throne for Darth Jar Jar, a command center, a jail cell and an entertainment area.

9. AT-ST Walker

There have been several Lego AT-STs over the years, but this is the first time we've had an Ultimate Collector's Series model — one specifically designed for adults, and designed for display rather than play. That doesn't mean you can't play with it if you want to: it has a rotating head, viewports that can be opened and closed and adjustable laser cannons.

But what makes a UCS set distinctive from a playset is the additional detail. Made up of 1,513 pieces, this AT-ST Walker is not only larger than most but looks more realistic than ever. Its distinctive legs are carefully designed to balance the weight of the set, so it can be proudly displayed. You can even open the top hatch to reveal a two-person cockpit inside.

Sadly, it doesn't come with two minifigures: there's only one here – a price to pay for the fact that this is a lower-priced Ultimate Collector's Series set. The minifigure included is designed to stand on the informational plaque that also comes with the set, which is wonderfully detailed, with the Imperial crest printed on its arms.

8. TIE Interceptor

Like many of the sets on our list of the most expensive Lego Star Wars sets currently available, the TIE Interceptor is another Ultimate Collector's Series set. It's one of many TIE Interceptors that have been released over the years, though thanks to its UCS status, it's bigger and more detailed than most.

Released as part of Lego Star Wars' 25th anniversary last year, it comes with a 25th Anniversary brick along with one minifigure (a new design TIE Pilot). Like all UCS sets, it also comes with a display plaque, providing details about the TIE Interceptor, and giving a place to display the minifigure and anniversary brick.

The Lego TIE Interceptor is 16 inches long and, given the ship's iconic shape, it comes with a brick-built display stand to enable you to display it effectively. You'll find neat details here, such as a rear engine, laser cannons and a viewable cockpit interior. Along with the pilot minifigure, there's also a mouse droid figure.

7. X-Wing Starfighter

Having been around since 2023, there's a good chance the Lego Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter will be retiring very soon. If you fancy picking up this UCS set, we'd recommend you do it fairly quickly — it's worth adding to your collection too. In our X-Wing Starfighter review, we said it’s "a great model that will always look excellent on a shelf". What more could you want from a Lego set for adults?

Made up of just shy of 2,000 pieces, the X-Wing Starfighter needs a good amount of space to display, as it measures over 21.5 inches in length. You'll find a buildable display stand here to proudly show it off, and the informational plaque provides a good place to display the included Luke Skywalker minifigure and the R2-D2 droid. Notably, there's space in the ship for both of them if you'd rather display the set with them inside.

As you'd expect from a ship this size, the X-Wing Starfighter packs in a lot of realistic detail. There's an opening cockpit (that Skywalker can fit inside), space behind for R2-D2 to sit, and adjustable wings that can move from flight mode to attack mode with one switch.

6. Jango Fett's Firespray-Class Starship

If you've been buying Lego Star Wars sets for a while, you'll undoubtedly find Jango Fett's Firespray-Class Starship to be very familiar indeed. It's identical in shape to Boba Fett's Starship, and it has been previously released under the Slave I moniker. The green and blue hues of Jango Fett's Starship do at least set it apart somewhat, and the size of this one might make it a tempting prospect for adult fans of Lego who like a big model.

You'll get two minifigures with this UCS set: Jango Fett with printed arms, along with a young Boba Fett. Both can be situated inside the opening cockpit, or they can be displayed on the included informational plaque stand. At 18 inches in length and 16 inches wide, the Firespray-Class Starship packs in a lot of detail. Along with the cockpit, there's an openable main entrance, a compartment for the seismic charge and blaster cannons that can be adjusted.

What's particularly cool is that Jango Fett's Firespray-Class Starship can be displayed in two ways: it can be displayed flat, in 'landing mode', or stood upright, using a buildable stand. As an added realistic detail, the rotating wings will always remain horizontal even when the vehicle is tilted.

5. Jabba's Sail Barge

We are truly in expensive set territory now — from here on out, these are the most expensive Lego Star Wars sets that only serious fans and collectors are likely to buy. Costing $499.99, Jabba's Sail Barge is a considerable investment: not only do you get a substantial model of the barge, but you also get a strong collection of unique minifigures, too.

Along with a huge model of Jabba the Hutt, there are ten other beautifully-detailed minifigures included here: Princess Leia, Bib Fortuna, C-3PO, Max Rebo, Kithaba, Wooof, Vizam, Salacious Crumb, R2-D2 and a Gamorrean Guard. It's quite a treat to have so many included with a UCS set, but that's a small part of what pushes the price up so high.

Of course, the 3,943-piece model of Jabba's Sail Barge packs in a lot of exquisite detail, too. It's an impressive 30.5 inches in length, with textile sails that can be adjusted, and the top deck and walls can be moved to allow full access to the interior. You'll want to see inside, too, thanks to the detailed rooms: there's a cockpit, prison cell, armory and an entertainment room, complete with Jabba's seedy bed. The minifigures can all be placed inside the ship, or you can display them on an included plinth.

4. The Razor Crest

Having been around for three years, The Lego Star Wars UCS Razor Crest is close to retirement — so if you want this one in your collection, you've only got a few more weeks to pick it up. Lego will stop stocking this in 2026, which means its price will likely go up on the reseller market. Great news if you own one, but not so great if you're yet to pick it up.

And if you're a Mandalorian fan, you absolutely should want to have this huge ship in your collection. The Razor Crest is one of the more unique ships in the Star Wars galaxy, and this particular model comes with minifigures of The Mandalorian, Grogu (and his Hover Pram), The Mythrol and Kuiil. There's also a buildable Blurrg, which can hold a minifigure on its back and be stowed away in the Razor Crest's cargo compartment.

As you'd expect from a ship of this size and stature, The Razor Crest has plenty of interactive features. Its engines can be removed, as can the cockpit. Two side hatches open, and the cargo compartment can be accessed, too. Inside, you'll find a weapons cabinet and a carbon-freezing chamber with room for a minifigure. There's also a detachable escape pod, again with room for a minifigure to sit inside.

3. Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser

In our review of the Lego Star Wars Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, we said that "it's huge, looks fantastic, and is packed with details". You'd expect nothing less from a Lego set costing $649.99, of course, but the Venator absolutely looks the part and is one of our favorite UCS sets to date.

This is one of the most eye-catching Star Wars ships, largely in part to the red detailing that provides a stunning contrast to the sea of grey bricks we typically see on Star Wars ships. There's a huge amount of detail here, too, including a command bridge, turbolaser turrets and a hangar, where you'll find a scale model of a Republic Gunship (spoiler: it's tiny). It also comes with a display stand, so you can proudly show this set off.

There are a couple of downsides here, however. The Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser only comes with two minifigures, which is a little disappointing given its price point. You'll get Captain Rex and Admiral Yularen, which can be displayed on the included informational plaque. Second is the size: at 43 inches in length (1.09 meters), you'll need a significant amount of space to adequately display this huge set. If you're living in a small apartment, you might need to rethink purchasing this one.

2. Millennium Falcon

Until very recently, the UCS Millennium Falcon was the biggest Lego Star Wars set available, but it's since been knocked off the number-one spot by the brand new Death Star. It's still a very impressive set, though, and the fact that it's been around for eight years tells you everything you need to know about the popularity of this set. Typically, a Lego Star Wars set will stay on shelves for a maximum of two years, so it's had an impressive run with no sign of ending yet.

There are seven minifigures included here: four from the original trilogy, and four from the modern trilogy. There's Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and C-3PO, then also Older Han Solo, Rey and Finn. Along with some interchangeable details for the ship, such as sensor dishes, it's up to you what era you want your Millennium Falcon to come from.

Made up of more than 7,500 pieces, there's a huge amount of detail on the Millennium Falcon itself, and as we said in our UCS Millennium Falcon review, it's a delight to build, even despite its size. The exterior features upper and lower quad laser cannons, landing legs and a boarding ramp that can raise and lower. There's also a cockpit with a detachable canopy, with enough room for four minifigures to sit inside. You can take the hull plates off the ship to take a look inside, too: there's a detailed main hold, gunnery station and rear compartment

1. Death Star

Last but certainly not least comes the brand new UCS Death Star, costing an eye-watering $999.99. It's the first Lego set in history to cost a thousand dollars, and we don't think it'll be the last. This is a seriously impressive set, packing in a lot of detail, but unlike previous models of the Death Star, it's not a complete, spherical model. Instead, it's a cutaway, focusing more on the interior detail. It's a strange choice for an Ultimate Collector's Series set, looking more like a very expensive playset than a display piece.

At 9,023 pieces, it's one of the biggest Lego sets of all time, and those bricks go towards building a 32-inch wide cutaway of the famous Death Star. Inside, it's split up into different rooms, many of which you'll instantly recognise. You'll find Princess Leia's holding cell, the trash compactor, the hangar control room, Emperor Palpatine's throne room, and a whole lot more.

There are 38 minifigures included here, all of which can be placed inside the Death Star to bring each room to life as a small diorama. There's a good selection of minifigures, including Luke Skywalker (both as a Jedi and a Stormtrooper), two versions of Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, two droids and a wealth of Stormtroopers.

As Lego space sets go, this is unquestionably one of the best for Lego purists. Lego released its USS Enterprise set at the end of November, and if you grab it before December 24, you also get a free Brite Bomber Brick Headz character. As well as 3,600 pieces, you also get nine minifigures and features including a detachable command saucer, an angled display stand and an opening shuttlebay. We have a soon-to-be-released review of this model, and we absolutely love it. After initially selling out, this set is back in stock, but if this interests you, but it isn't quite right, we recommend checking out the best Lego Star Wars sets and best Lego Marvel sets on the market.

Beamed up for the holidays, this is Lego's first-ever Star Trek set, and it's a beaut. 3,600 pieces and nine minifigures (Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Commander William Riker, Lieutenant Worf, Lieutenant Commander Data, Dr. Beverly Crusher, Lieutenant Commander La Forge, Counselor Deanna Troi, Bartender Guinan and Wesley Crusher).

But it's more than just that, stunning features including blue and red details, a detachable command saucer, an angled display stand, an opening shuttle bay, two mini shuttlepods, a secondary hull and a display plaque with ship statistics.

It's unquestionably one for serious Lego collectors and Star Trek fans, but we love it and we'll soon be releasing our review of it after our expert staff got their hands on it.

We're readying ourselves for Avatar: Fire and Ash and going blue for a while, which means it's time to rewatch the previous Avatar movies and scout the best Lego Avatar sets released so far.

At the time of writing, we haven't seen what The Lego Group and other toymakers have prepared for Avatar: Fire and Ash, but we aim to update this list of our favorite Lego Avatar sets with the latest as they're announced and set to hit the market. Mind you, there are plenty of stunning scenes from the first two movies worth recreating in detail with colorful bricks and cute minifigures. Even Col. Miles Quaritch is adorable when turned into a Lego.

We've also rounded up the best Lego Marvel and Star Wars sets money can buy, as well as the best Lego space sets, including NASA replicas, STEM kits and stunning art you can build, which are worth looking at, too.

From futuristic vehicles perfect for hard Sci-Fi lovers to the more whimsical flora and fauna of Pandora, James Cameron's massive series has received several awesome Lego builds so far, so let us show you our favorites and where you can grab them before they're gone forever.

Lego Avatar — Toruk Makto & Tree of Souls

The only flying creature on Pandora (that we know of) that banshees fear is the great leonopteryx (Toruk), and that rare aerial predator translates into a beautiful figure that also comes with an excellent diorama of a Na'vi congregation around the mighty Tree of Souls. Of course, Jake is riding the Toruk, thus becoming the Toruk Makto, who can bring the Na'vi peoples together against the human invaders.

If we had to pick a single Avatar set to gift to a huge fan of James Cameron's movies, it'd be this one. It packs everything you'd want out of a Lego Avatar box: iconic fauna and flora (there's even a direhorse), plenty of Na'vi and enough environmental chunks to display the whole thing in a satisfactory manner without the need for extra sets.

The two highlights are how flexible and intricate the Toruk build is, and how gorgeous the Tree of Souls ends up being (especially if you use adequate lighting to make it pop) thanks to the glow-in-the-dark elements. The substantially higher piece count and age recommendation underlines how this one's aimed at older fans, but if your children enjoy a good challenge, why shouldn't you dive into it with them?

Lego Avatar: The Way of Water — Payakan the Tulkun & Crabsuit

Though the Payakan the Tulkun & Crabsuit Lego set, which brings to life some of the main players of Avatar: The Way of Water's final act, isn't the most complex or cheap build (it's technically retired, but stock is still being sold by some stores), it's clearly a must for Tulkun fans. Kids who loved the surprising side character that Payakan turned out to be won't let go of the completed figure either.

The set also includes a human Crabsuit driver inside the mech-like build, and Lo'ak and Tsireya complete the recreation of one of the movie's latter scenes. Though they didn't take advantage of the opportunity to craft a cohesive diorama with this one, the two bits of underwater terrain and flora that come with it work well if used alongside other Way of Water sets we're about to recommend.

Of course, the main reason anyone will grab this one is Payakan, and the whale-like alien doesn't disappoint in its brickified form. The main twist here is that he's fully posable and can be elegantly displayed with a custom stand, so this isn't a rushed package designed only for the youngest fans.

The Way of Water — Metkayina Reef Home

A perfect set to pair with the Payakan one is the Metkayina Reef Home box, which includes four Na'vi characters — Neytiri, Kiri, Ronal and Tonowari — a striking Metkayina clan dwelling, a canoe and the flora and terrain that elevate it above the water. This one's heavy on little accessories and small details, too; those objects and Pandora's fish are perfect for more complex custom builds.

While the official description doesn't shy away from the fact that it's primarily targeted at kids who want to relive scenes from the first Avatar sequel, it also states it was really designed with 'play and display' in mind. Considering how rickety these smaller and more detailed Lego sets can be, it feels like a perfect candidate to carefully set up and embellish alongside other oceanic sets, like the Payakan one we just recommended.

Notice the piece count is also lower, which makes it an easier recommendation for children who haven't crossed the 10-year barrier, as long as you're happy to help assemble the more delicate parts. In our experience, these mid-sized sets can be very deceiving. Regardless, the guide that comes with it and the digital LEGO Builder app will put anyone on the right track.

Lego Avatar — Neytiri & Thanator vs. AMP Suit Quaritch

As part of Avatar's first push into Lego, we also received the Neytiri & Thanator vs. AMP Suit Quaritch set, which focused on letting kids and fans build and display (or play with) the main players of the final duel of the original movie.

The Thanator is among everyone's favorite creature designs from Avatar, so it came as no surprise that creators approached it with reverence to craft a pretty sweet posable figure.

Neytiri can also be used alongside or on top of the Thanator. She has her lethal bow and is ready to strike down villain Col. Miles Quaritch, who's still a human at this point, but has jumped into an imposing mech (AMP) suit with weapons of its own. In a way, this Lego set perfectly captures the two colliding aesthetics of the Avatar movies: Pandora's colorful but deadly organisms and the RDA's striking, advanced and chunky technology.

The downside is that the set is light on environmental extras that can enhance the scene if you're going for a diorama build. We like the design on those colorful plants, but we would've celebrated something more ambitious when it comes to representing the location of the scene.

Lego Avatar — Jake & Neytiri’s First Banshee Flight

There's something that's particularly enchanting about the Ikran (banshees) across all the Avatar movies. The wyvern-like flying reptiles sport eye-catching colors and Na'vi use them as their go-to air mounts. The bond between a rider and their banshee doesn't break, and chances are your bond with this two-figure set won't either.

Jake's first flight remains one of the most memorable scenes of the movie series, full of epic thrills and some hints of the approaching romance. Traditional Sci-Fi moviemaking at its finest. This set perfectly captures that freeing sense of wonder with two Ikrans, the accompanying riders (Jake and Neytiri) and a big-enough rock formation to place both of the creatures on. The full thing can be assembled together, perfect to be displayed out of the box (once you're done building it).

At the same time, given the completed banshees' size and the pterodactyl-like features, this set is an easy win with young ones, who will no doubt spend hours running around the house, recreating Jake and Neytiri's first flight together. This is what Lego has always been all about.

Lego Avatar — Floating Mountains: Site 26 & RDA Samson

Last but not least, we're wrapping the list up (for now) with the Site 26 & RDA Samson set, which works perfectly in tandem with the Neytiri & Thanator vs. AMP Suit one we also recommend. If you remember (time to rewatch the original movie if not), the final duel in Avatar took place right next to the Site 26 mobile link station, with Jake Sully's human form also in the mix. We think the other (otherwise excellent) set was a bit dry when it came to environmental extras, so this one's the perfect companion if you have the extra money.

But of course, you'll be eyeing this one because of its unambitious but perfect rendition of the iconic SA-2 Samson helicopter, taken away from the RDA by Jake's allies. It can also be placed on a natural-looking build with glow-in-the-dark elements, so you don't have to just leave it placed on a flat surface next to Site 26 and the minifigures. Overall, this unassuming but varied package works well on its own, but also adds to the Neytiri vs. Quaritch set, making them an ideal combo pick, especially if you manage to catch a good deal.

Looking at other Lego Avatar sets, this one also hits a sweet spot between the complex build process of the top-notch ones and the more kid-friendly boxes that may not be as enticing on their own. We know it's light on Pandoran flora and fauna, but don't let it fly under your radar.

As impressive as the Lego Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon and new Lego Star Wars UCS Death Star are, this is my favourite by far, and I own it. Our expert, Ian Stokes, called it a "Stunning Lego recreation of one of Star Wars' coolest ships" in his Lego Star Wars UCS Venator review, and he's not wrong.

At over a metre in length, you'll need a fair amount of space to display it, but we think it's one of the best Star Wars sets. However, as Cyber Monday deals should have expired, you'll have to hurry, before this deal hits hyperspace and you lose it forever!

Lego has nailed the look of this vast vessel, seen during the opening sequence of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. It appears in our list of the best Lego Star Wars sets, and while it might seem too pricey at £560, £400 makes it more affordable. It was certainly enough to get me to take the plunge!

So what do you get with this set, apart from 5,000+ bricks? It also features a pair of minifigures, of Clone Wars characters Captain Rex and Admiral Yularen. There's also a plaque featuring in-universe information about the ship and a sturdy stand. Could you swoosh this around a room if you had the arm strength? Probably, but this is clearly intended for display.

Reviewing the Star Wars Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, our expert Ian Stokes said it was "A simply stunning addition to the Lego Star Wars roster, and one of the best UCS sets to come out in quite some time". I'd go further and say it is the best UCS set, Lego Star Wars UCS Death Star included. It's also better than half the price of that expensive set.

There's some serious attention to detail here, from the huge engines through to the rotating turbolasers and the starship hangar. And, thanks to the red panelling, it's not a massive wall of grey as with the regular Empire-era Star Destroyers. Ian's only real complaint about the set was that the hangar doesn't actually open.

Part of Lego's pocket-friendly mid-sized range, the Executor is far smaller than its now-retired UCS equivalent. But what's so mind-blowing about this Lego Star Wars Executor Super Star Destroyer is, despite its size, it just oozes menace. It's on my shelf right now, and every time I look at it, I worry a dust mite-sized Darth Vader is going to leap out and Force Choke me to death.

It's no surprise that we rank this as one of the best Lego Star War sets. Our expert, Kim Snaith, also echoes its awesomeness. In her Lego Star Wars Executor Super Star Destroyer review, she said that "For $69.99, you're getting a lot of bang for your buck here, in terms of design quality and sheer size." At $40, this Cyber Monday Lego Deal is such a bargain, it should be illegal.

I love Star Wars' Super Star Destroyer. It's so comically large you can imagine that, under the gaze of Darth Vader, its engineers were just too afraid to stop building. Now, you can preserve its oversized glory with this mid-sized Lego Star Wars set, down to just $40 at Walmart.

What's especially cool is that, while there are no minifigures included, you do get a pair of smaller Star Destroyers. Attached via a transparent piece of Lego, they help lend the ship a real sense of scale. It features a removable stand, as well as an anniversary block, though I removed that because it felt a little out of place.

This Lego Star Wars Super Star Destroyer Executor set is a joy to build and look at, once it's perched on your shelf. There are several other mid-sized ships included in the range, some of which make our best Lego Star Wars sets list. In short, it's a superb Cyber Monday Lego deal, one which you won't regret taking advantage of.

New for October 2025, the Ultimate Collector Series Death Star set is available to buy and it is a monster set. It's officially the largest Lego Star Wars set on the market, in terms of piece count, dimensions and number of minifigures. It's also packed with features and details depicting iconic scenes across the original trilogy, with some playable options.

But it costs $1,000. Yes, $1,000 for a Lego Star Wars set. Considering we're seeing so many Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals on Lego Star Wars sets, it's a whopping price. And it takes up a lot of room. It's also designed specifically with collectors in mind, so is it really worth it?

Of course, it's impressive and already among the best Lego Star Wars sets, but do you get the bang for your thousand bucks? We'll delve into its size, its features and details and the price comparison with other UCS sets to determine if it's up to the price tag. With Black Friday coming up, we're hoping to see plenty of Lego Star Wars deals too.

Dimensions, piece count and Minifigures

The new Lego Star Wars UCS Death Star set is an absolute monster. It's the largest Lego Star Wars set ever released, measuring at 28 x 32 x 11 inches (height x width x depth), taking over from the previous biggest, the UCS Millennium Falcon. While it's unquestionably a collector's dream, it does beg the question: Where are you going to display something of this size? Despite that issue, and it may not be an issue for you, it does lend itself to being a standout centerpiece model.

Of course, with being so big, it's unsurprising that it features a lot of pieces. 9,023 pieces means it's a record-breaking set for piece count, again usurping the UCS Millennium Falcon. This means you get plenty of build time out of it, and of course, there's a lot of detail in this set, which we'll get into below. But it also means this is well and truly for the veterans and collectors, as the potential to get frustrated at any point is off the charts. Not to mention the sinking feeling of realising you've lost a key piece.

With 38 minifigures, Lego really has been generous. Multiple versions of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo come with this set, as do other key characters from Death Star scenes, including Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C3PO, R2D2, Darth Vader, the Emperor, Stormtroopers and more. It's not just the number of minifigures that's a real positive, but the range of characters too.

In all, you'd hope to get a lot of Lego for $1,000 and boy, don't you just. There's no hiding from the price tag, but there's no hiding from this set, it's massive. It's unquestionably a collector's dream, given its size and it's not for the faint-hearted, given how much time you'll need to complete the build. One thing left to ponder: Imagine how big this set would be if it were a complete Death Star and not just a slice.

Features and Details

Now, this set isn't a complete Death Star. In fact, it's not even a partial Death Star; it's literally a circle with a detailed look at the interior of the Death Star. Despite that, it depicts and recreates iconic scenes spanning the original trilogy as the circular set is split up into sections, or rooms.

Details of the Death Star's interior include a hangar with a buildable Imperial Shuttle, the trash compactor room, the Emperor's Throne Room, hallways, the tractor beam that Obi-Wan deactivates, a roundtable room, the laser being fired that destroys Alderaan and more.

While this is unquestionably a display set, there are some brilliant playable features that allow you to recreate scenes with the minifigures available. There's a fully functioning elevator, the trash compactor room's walls close in and there's a retractable floor in the room where Luke and Leia make their escape from Stormtroopers.

With this set being a display set, and given its size, it couldn't be considered anything else; it's a bonus that there are some playable features. Mind you, for $1,000, you want everything Lego could offer. There's a lot of detail in this set and many different scenes recreated, but it does also have to be said that it's $1,000 for a slice of the Death Star and not a complete model. That might irk some people, but the point of this set is to take a look at the interior of the Death Star, not to be a complete recreation.

Price comparison

We've mentioned the price of the UCS Death Star several times already, but that's because it's an unprecedented, $1,000. That puts it at about $150 above the next most expensive Lego Star Wars set, the UCS Millennium Falcon, which is $849.99.

You do get about 1,500 more Lego pieces, more minifigures and it is larger than the UCS Millennium Falcon, but the Falcon was eyewateringly expensive to begin with, to add another $150 on top of that, regardless of what more you get, is bordering on the ludicrous and will no doubt price a lot of people out of getting this set.

There's no denying you get a lot of Lego with this set. There's no denying that it's a collector's dream and there's no denying it's one of the most impressive Lego sets we've ever seen. But, $1,000 for a Lego set, regardless of the size and detail, feels too much.

Verdict: Is the Lego Star Wars UCS Death Star set really worth $1,000?

In a word, no. $1,000 is too much for a Lego set, irrespective of the level of detail and the size of the set. It's not even a full Death Star, it's just a slice of it! But that's the point of the set and $1,000 feels too much for what you get, even though you get an awful lot of Lego.

We don't want to bash this set too much. It's seriously impressive and it's a collector's dream. Don't get us wrong, if you're serious about Lego and you have $1,000 to spend on a Lego set, and you have the space to display it, we would recommend getting it.

But, for the average Lego builder and ultimately, for most, $1,000 doesn't feel worth it for this set. Especially when the UCS Millennium Falcon is $150 less and is packed with stunning detail and still comes with over 7,500 pieces.

The Star Wars Black Series Sabine Wren Force FX Elite Lightsaber is a well-constructed model that looks impressive on display, set in the Imperial-themed stand that all Force FX Elite models use. Add the blade, and it looks great in the hand, too. Force FX Elite Lightsabers aren't robust enough to be classed as dueling quality, but they can handle careful combat if gentle force is used.

As you'd expect for a model that had a launch price of almost $280, the Sabine Wren Lightsaber has an impressive selection of user-operated and motion-detected sounds and light effects.

The blade itself has a nice activation sound as light extends from the pommel to the tip. There are also motion-detected lights and noise effects when the lightsaber is swung. Users also have access to a number of additional effects activated via a button on the grip.

One disappointment that applies to all Black Series Force FX Elite Lightsabers is that they require batteries rather than using an in-built rechargeable unit. This model requires three AA alkaline batteries — not included.

To build the Lego Star Wars Tantive IV (75376) model, you'll use 654 pieces taken from seven bags. We built the model for our Lego Star Wars Tantive IV review. Our tester enjoyed the process and the results, saying: "The Lego Star Wars Tantive IV is a gorgeous model packed with details, and it's super fun to build. We're loving this trend of smaller display ships at more reasonable prices. With that said, it does feel about $10 more expensive than it should be." But now you can save a huge 50% this Black Friday, making this incredible value for money.

Detail-wise, the Tantive IV build is impressive with authentic-looking gun turrets, flames being emitted from the engines, but our favorite little detail is the missing escape pod — as used by R2-D2 and C-3PO in their getaway to Tatooine with the concealed Death Star plans.

We reckon the finished build looks great and is ideal for display. The fiddly build and lack of play features make this a Lego set that's better suited for collectors rather than younglings. That said, younger builders would be fine working alongside an adult.

Plus, it includes both Jango Fett and young Boba Fett figures. What's not to like?

This isn't the first time Lego has put out a model of Jango Fett's starship, but it's the first time we've got a UCS set based on the vessel and this set looks absolutely fantastic. Made up of nearly 3,000 pieces, it comes with just two minifigures, Jango Fett and young Boba Fett, and while we'd have appreciated more, we love everything else about this set. It also boasts a stand and plaque to hold it in its flight position, which is a welcome feature.

Kim Snaith, our Lego expert, ranks it as one of the best Lego Star Wars sets, praising its detailed cockpit, adjustable cannons and more. It boasts 1,000 more pieces than the now-retired Boba Fett's Slave 1 UCS set, with plenty of added detail.

As impressive as this set is, it's not really built for play, so we wouldn't recommend you fly it around the living room. But if you're a fan of Attack of the Clones and shed a tear over Jango Fett's 'big scene', it's a fantastic buy especially at this knock-down price.

As underlined by the Disney Store's listing, these are toys and are meant for play. Why is that important? Because as cool as the Star Wars Black Series lightsabers are, with their metal hilts and so forth, $200 is a lot of money to lose because a Jedi battle gets a little too heated.

But, despite its $40 price tag and plastic construction, this Star Wars Yoda lightsaber isn't short on bells and whistles. It boasts a glowing blade, sound effects, a detachable hilt and more, enough to amuse any youngling. We also think it's the best lightsaber for kids.

This Star Wars Yoda toy lightsaber is just that, a toy. With its light-up blade and sound effects (including the familiar Star Wars hum) and more, it'll keep children amused and at $40, it's not the end of the world if, against all the odds, they do manage to break it.

Boasting a detachable hilt, it's powered by three AA batteries, which are, thankfully, included. Recognizably styled after Yoda's blade, it's strong enough to survive being whacked against things and is an excellent present for any Jedi aged 3 or over.

Rated for builders 7 and over, with 347 pieces, this is a cool little set to build and play with when you're watching the Marvel movies on Disney Plus. It includes figures of Black Widow, a Chitauri Warrior, Captain America, Loki and, of course, the Hulk. As you might expect, the Hulk is a mega-sized figure. Aside from the minifigures' own accessories, there's a tiny Cosmic Cube. I'm sure that won't be any trouble at all.

The set features several play-friendly features, including movable fins and stud-launchers on the Leviathan. At this price, you're getting a lot of fun for your money, but you'll have to move fast.

Why? Because this set is already being retired at Lego and when it's gone it's gone, unless you're willing to pay extra on eBay. It's a steal at this price - $25 is nothing to pay for a Lego recreation of such an iconic The Avengers moment.

Key features: 5 minifigures, including an extra-large Hulk figure, 347 pieces in total, buildable Leviathan is 10.5-in. / 27 cm. Suitable for builders aged 7 or above.

Lego's range of Star Wars helmets are cool, but the company has really knocked it out of the park with this Lego Star Wars Jango Fett set, which nails the look of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones' bounty hunter. You can almost imagine it being cradled by...well, that'd be spoiling things.

Reviewing the Lego Star Wars Boba Fett set, we were slightly disappointed it didn't come with a mini-figure, and that's still the case here. But we love everything else about this 616-piece model, and we think it's one of the best Lego Star Wars Helmets out there.

You won't find any minifigures in this LEGO Technic NASA Apollo Lunar Roving Vehicle set, but this isn't some fantasy vehicle. It's a faithful, accurate recreation of the rover from the Apollo 17 mission, the last time we visited the moon.

Unlike the actual rover, which is still on the moon, this set can take pride of place on your shelves. Rover aside, it includes models of the Apollo 17 experience, including a chunk of plastic moon rock. And, while it's not intended for extended play, this model does feature actual steering and suspension.

With nearly 2,000 pieces, it's for builders aged 18+ or over, so children shouldn't try building this on their own, but Lego building can be a team effort. It's retiring soon, so if you've been back and forth about buying this, now's the time to take the plunge. We think it's one of the best Space Lego sets out there, so grab it while you can.

How much is too much for one of the best Lego Star Wars sets? Up until last month, the most we'd ever spent on a Lego Star Wars set was $849.99. That was an eye-watering amount, but with the release of the new Ultimate Collector's Series Death Star in October, it's just gone up even higher. If you want to own this exclusive collector's piece, you're going to have to part with $1,000. Yeah: a grand on a Lego set. It's a fantastic set, no doubt, but has Lego gone too far this time?

Judging by the reviews on the official Lego website, the answer to that may well be 'yes': of 214 reviews, 33% of them are one-star. We have a feeling they're not from actual buyers; however, simply people making their thoughts known about the price. But they have a point: one thousand dollars could buy a lot of things more important and useful than a Lego set. It also isn't currently on offer for Black Friday despite there being many models discounted.

For collectors, though, there's no doubt the Death Star is a tempting prospect. Measuring 28 by 32 inches, it's huge, and with a whopping 38 minifigures, it's really quite something. Unusually for a UCS set, the focus is on the interior, with the set providing a cutaway diorama of everything going on inside the Death Star. It's split into multiple rooms, each providing its own scene that Star Wars fans will recognize from a key part in the movies. There's the trash compactor, Emperor Palpatine's throne room, a hangar with an Imperial Shuttle and a whole lot more. In fact, several of the dioramas have had their own entire set. And here, they're all together in one place.

As good as it is, though, we won't be buying the Lego Star Wars UCS Death Star. As much as we love Lego Star Wars, it's one set that won't be gracing our collection any time soon, and here's why.

The price

One thousand dollars. Honestly, we'd expect to be able to buy our own room in the actual Death Star for that. To a lucky few people, though, $1,000 is pocket change. For them, heading down to The Lego Store to pick up a UCS Death Star is nothing more than picking up a candy bar in the supermarket. For most of us, though, that amount of money is several months' worth of disposable income. It's rent. It's our electricity bills for half the year.

Not to put too fine a point on it, things are tough right now and unless you’re absolutely flush with spare cash, it feels a little irresponsible to be throwing so much money on one Lego set. There are a lot of things that you could buy with $999.99, and who knows when something more urgent or life-dependent is going to come up.

And how about the fact that there are so many other great Lego sets that cost just a fraction of the price of the Death Star? Take the Acclamator-Class Assault Ship, a set we rated 5 stars. You can buy twenty of them for the price of one Death Star. We also thought Grogu with Hover Pram was a pretty great set. You can have ten of those. An army of ten Grogus, or one singular Death Star. Your choice.

The size

For $999.99, you'd expect a huge set. That's exactly what you're getting with the Lego Star Wars UCS Death Star, but for many of us, it's going to be too big. It's 28 by 32 inches, so you're going to need a huge shelf to display it on. If you live in a small home and you're limited for shelf or worktop space, you can forget about it.

In the same amount of space taken up by the Death Star, you could display several other smaller sets. Smaller sets that will undoubtedly cost a fraction of the price of the Death Star, too. In fact, some of the dioramas included in the Death Star can be bought as their own sets: both the Throne Room and the Trash Compactor were released as standalone sets (with a lot more detail than you'll find in the Death Star) for less than $100 each.

There's also the fact that, despite its price and its size, the UCS Death Star is not a full set. Unlike the previous (and now retired) Death Star, this new model is not spherical. It's merely a cutaway of the inside of the Death Star. And while it's nice to get more interior detail, it doesn't provide enough detail to really understand the full scale of the actual Death Star model. Perhaps that's for the best, because then it really would be far too huge for most people's homes. But it's still a shame that we're only getting a slice of it.

Other sets are just as good (and much cheaper)

The draw of the Death Star for a lot of Lego Star Wars collectors will undoubtedly be that it's a UCS set. The Ultimate Collector's Series has been around for over 20 years and focuses on big, detailed sets designed to be displayed rather than played with.

Many UCS sets do carry a premium price tag, but the Death Star is the highest by a long shot. It's almost 18% more expensive than the next most expensive set (the Millennium Falcon, which costs $849.99 — and since that has been around for eight years, it's often available at a discount). We can't help but feel that Lego is testing the waters to see just how much money fans are willing to spend on one set.

Look at the available Lego Star Wars UCS sets and you'll find plenty of great-looking display models available for substantially less than the Death Star. The Lego X-Wing Starfighter, which we rated highly in our review, costs $239.99, and thanks to a wealth of detail, it's a stunning set to have on display. It takes up much less space than the Death Star, too, making it appropriate for collectors with a smaller area to display in.

Even Jabba's Sail Barge, with an expensive-enough price tag of $499.99 and an impressive 31-inch length, is half the price of the Death Star. This is a set that comes with 11 unique minifigures (including a large molded model of Jabba the Hutt), a fully-detailed interior and a huge scale model that is going to take pride of place in any Lego Star Wars collection. Perhaps Jabba's barge isn't as iconic as the Death Star, but given that you can buy this and still have $500 left over, it feels like a no-brainer to us.

Of course, your own opinion of the Lego Star Wars UCS Death Star will vary. For us, our thoughts are very much driven by the price: as much as we love Lego, a thousand dollars on one set feels like a step too far. Do we wish we had more disposable income so that we could buy it without worrying about the cost of it? Perhaps — but even then, we can't help but think there'd still be something more worthwhile we should be buying instead.

Here, you'll find the best of the best Lego Star Wars sets, designed with collectors in mind. The sets on this page typically have higher piece counts, are larger and, unfortunately, cost more than the average Lego set, but that's with good reason.

1. UCS Millennium Falcon

Until October 2025, the UCS Millennium Falcon was the largest Lego Star Wars set you could get your hands on, both in terms of piece count and dimensions. Despite being usurped as the biggest, it's still the best thanks to its stunning detail, the number of features within the set and the fact that it is a complete ship (more on that in the next entry on this page).

Our review of the Lego Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon praises the set's detail, scale, size and how enjoyable the overall build was. It has features like removable hull panels, cockpits to fit minifigures inside, blaster canons, escape pod hatches, rotating laser canons, seven standing legs and so much more.

The only downside to this set is that we don't get more. The minifigure selection is good — you get Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C3PO and favorites from the sequel trilogy, but of course, we want more! Then there's the price tag; there's no getting away from that. But now that the new UCS Death Star has been released, we hope to see this set fall in price, as this is undoubtedly the centerpiece model to round off any Lego collection.

2. UCS Death Star

So, here we are. $1000 for a Lego set (well, $999.99) prices a lot of people out of ever owning this set. It's a collector's dream and it's a Star Wars fan's dream as there is so much going on inside. It displays details and famous scenes from across the original trilogy and it has the minifigures, 38 in total, to fill the different sections and recreate some of the most iconic scenes from the saga.

You do get a lot of Lego for your money, as you'd hope, with details including the Emperor's Throne Room, the trash compactor room, the tractor beam that Obi-Wan deactivates, the hangar and more. Features include a fully functioning elevator, the moving walls of the trash compactor room and a retractable floor in the room where Luke and Leia make their escape. Minifigures include multiple versions of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, the Emperor, C3PO, R2D2, Chewbacca, Stormtroopers and more. And, of course, over 9,000 pieces in total.

The sheer size and level of detail in everything that's going on in this set make it a centerpiece model to behold. But, with it being so large, you will need a lot of space to display it. It could also be criticized for not being a complete Death Star, as it's just a slice of it. But, imagine how big it would be, and how many pieces you would need, if a set of this detail and with this many features were a complete model rather than just a look inside?

It's the biggest UCS set in terms of dimensions, piece count and the number of minifigures. And, it's very nearly the best. This set is only really suitable for collectors and mega fans out there.

3. UCS X-Wing Starfighter

There's a lot to like about the Lego Star Wars UCS X-Wing starfighter. In short, it's considerably less expensive than the two sets above and is comparatively one of the more affordable sets in the UCS range. It's also an iconic ship with a striking look, and the size of it means it can be a centerpiece model or a very impressive part of a collection.

We love the iconic design, the detail and that it's a great co-op build following our UCS X-Wing review. This is purely a display piece as it doesn't have a lot of playable features. Sure, it has space for the R2D2 figure and an opening cockpit that can fit the Luke Skywalker minifigure inside. But that's kind of the extent of it. Having said that, the detail, the aesthetic and the quality of the integrated stand and display plaque make this a great display set, worthy of showing off to anyone you like.

If you're to criticize this set, you only get two minifigures, R2D2 and Luke Skywalker. Then again, it wouldn't make much sense to have any other, seeing as this is purely a display set. With fewer than 2,000 pieces, there's considerably less to it than the sets above. But with that, it also means the build isn't as time-consuming and is therefore less conducive to frustration.

4. UCS Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser

At number four in our list of the best UCS Lego Star Wars sets: Ranked, we have another behemoth, a 5,000-plus-piece glorious spaceship that we absolutely love, following our UCS Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser review.

There's a lot to like, especially if you're looking for a monster to be the centerpiece of your collection. With dimensions of 43 x 21 x 13 inches (length x width x height) and a price point of around the $650 mark, it's less expensive than the UCS Millennium Falcon and the Death Star, but has the size to match. With 5,374 pieces, it also has the piece count to keep you entertained for days on end.

Again, as this is a huge set with lots of pieces to it, and another aimed at collectors, there's no hiding from the price tag. And for this, we would have loved to have seen an opening hangar and perhaps a few more minifigures. Despite this, if you're willing to invest, you'll have a Lego set that offers stunning detail, a striking look and is worthy of being the centerpiece of any Lego Star Wars collection.

5. UCS Jabba's Sail Barge

If you're looking for something in between the monsters you see in this set and something that would fit neatly on a shelf, this could be it. Equally, if you're looking for a Lego Star Wars UCS set that's truly unique, this is definitely it.

With dimensions of 30 x 15 x 10 inches, it's hard to describe the UCS Jabba's Sail Barge as anything other than a display set, but it does have some cool features. The sides can be folded down to expose the detailed interior, which includes the cockpit, armory, kitchen, prison cell and Jabba's bed. The sails can be removed to reveal the top deck, too.

The selection of minifigures is another standout with this set. You get 11 in total, which includes a Jabba Lego figure. Others included are R2-D2, C3PO, Bib Fortuna and Princess Leia in that outfit from Return of the Jedi. Our only real gripe with this set is the price tag, but then again, it is very unique and comes with nearly 4,000 pieces.

The Ultimate Collector's Series set will set you back over $800 and previous iterations of this have retailed for over $100. Lastly, I like this deal because of the set's quality.

This set offers an engaging build and a fantastic look, which we found out in our Lego Millennium Falcon review. It comes with over 920 pieces, stands at 5 x 9.5 x 7.5 inches / 13 x 24 x 19cm (height x length x width) and has impressive details like the cockpit windows and vents on the top of the ship. With this discount, it's a very reasonably priced set that looks really good and doesn't take up too much space.

Walmart Bricktember Deals: Kylo Ren Bundle

This is a top Bricktember deal as you get 30% off the price of two genuinely good Lego sets. The Kylo Ren helmet sits at the top of our best Lego Star Wars helmets page thanks to its striking and stunning look and its noticeable lack of stickers. It's a little smaller than some other Star Wars helmets, but that makes it ideal if you don't have lots of space to display it.

Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle is another Lego set with a striking look and like the helmet, it has a smaller piece count than some other Lego Star Wars sets like it. It stands at 10.5 in. x 5 in. x 17.5 in. (height x length x width), so it isn't the largest Lego Star Wars ship, but it does command attention when put on display.

The 30% saving is a total discount of over $40, as the combined price puts both sets comfortably under their usual retail price.

Walmart Bricktember Deals: Rocket and Baby Groot

Another Bricktember deal and another 20% discount on a quality Lego set, this time from Lego's Marvel line of builds. The reason I like this deal is that the Lego Marvel Rocket and Baby Groot set sits in our best Lego Marvel sets guide as the best for Guardians fans. And that's because it features great detail and looks better when completed than it does on the box.

In our Lego Marvel Rocket and Baby Groot review, we found that it's a great-looking display set and an enjoyable build. One or two parts may frustrate younger builders but the end result is very aesthetically pleasing, and there are very few stickers to use. This set stands at over 8.5 in. tall and Baby Groot comes as an adorable minifigure. Overall, 20% off means this set is well worth getting.

Walmart Bricktember Deals: Star Wars Advent Calendar 2025

This is a very timely Bricktember deal as you can get this year's Lego Star Wars advent calendar with a 16% discount. This year's set has a heavy focus on droids, which we haven't seen before. I think this is definitely a deal to consider if you were planning on getting this year's Lego Star Wars advent calendar as it's now cheaper than its usual retail price.

In this set, you get 24 gifts in total, 263 pieces, five droid figures and eight buildable droids, among other items. These include C3PO, a festive BB-8, a festive Jawa, and battle droids as seen in the prequel trilogy. The backdrop this year is a festive workshop and the set encourages building and creative play.

Walmart Bricktember Deals: Team Spidey Web Spinner Headquarters

This deal is something a little different from everything on this page, simply because it's designed for younger kids. Our Lego Marvel Team Spidey Web Spinner Headquarters review showed us that it features excellent minifigures, very easy-to-follow instructions, bright colours, encourages cooperative building and, above all else, it's fun to build.

It must be stressed that as this set is aimed at those aged four and above, older kids and those with experience of building Lego may find this a bit too easy. However, if you're looking for a fun gift for a young Spider-Man superfan or Avenger advocate, this sizable saving could be just what you're looking for.

Included in this set are nine minifigures and five droid figures. You can also build a micro fighter, a speeder bike, a tri-droid and much more. With this set spanning two different sub-franchises within the Star Wars franchise, and with so much playability on offer, a sizable discount makes this worth having, if you're a younger fan of either The Clone Wars or The Mandalorian.

Walmart is dropping Lego deals regularly during the month and will include some of the best Lego space sets, as well as the best Lego Star Wars sets, and some of the most collectable sets from Lego, so it's well worth checking back regularly if you're after a specific set.

One Lego set, discounted at Walmart to its best-ever price, is one of the best space Lego sets – the Lego Technic NASA Lunar Roving Vehicle, which is an incredibly detailed reproduction of the historic NASA buggy that took to the Moon's surface during the Apollo 15, 16 and 17 lunar missions.

Aimed at more experienced builders and collectors, the Lego Technic NASA Lunar RV (42182) set looks stunning as a display item. The 1,913-piece model comes loaded with detail, including full steering and suspension and is even built to scale to fit the Lego Creator 3-in-1 Astronaut set, which scored a perfect 5 out of 5-star review, and can be added to the model to create an extra level of display.

As you can see from the image below, Lego has faithfully reproduced the NASA RV with incredible details. Reviews consensus: As a fairly new set, we've yet to review this Lego Technik set, but there is no doubt it's one of the best Lego space sets on the market. Amazon reviewers and Lego collectors rate it highly, with an average 4.8 out of 5-star score and 89% of those being top marks.

✅ Buy it if: You want a historically accurate and detailed Lego space set that offers plenty of features. It will take you a little while to build, and it is best used for display purposes, but it can move around with its functioning wheels and suspension detail.

❌ Don't buy it if: You're looking for something child-friendly. This is aimed at those aged 18 and up, and could frustrate younger builders. A better space option for youngsters is the Lego Technic NASA Mars Rover Perseverance set, currently reduced on Amazon to just $81.95.

As the year comes to an end, it has us thinking: What are the best Lego Star Wars sets released throughout 2025? It’s been a pretty strong year for Lego Star Wars overall, with more than 30 sets released, covering a whole gamut of prices and sizes — including one record-breaking set. We'll get to that shortly, but no prizes for guessing which.

We've had not one but three Ultimate Collector's Series sets (the first time we've had that many in a single year since 2002), one of the cutest Lego Star Wars sets to date (Grogu with Hover Pram), a collection of BrickHeadz (Revenge of the Sith Heroes & Villains) and a few new Lego Star Wars helmets for the first time in two years. We've also had an influx of mid-sized display ships, some more unique display sets (K-2SO, we're looking at you), and a smattering of playsets.

2025 has been a great year to be a Lego Star Wars fan, then. But what have been the best sets of the year? It's hard to pick, honestly, but we've based our choices on uniqueness, value for money and design. We've also made sure to include sets covering all sizes and price ranges, so no matter how much shelf space or disposable income you have, our round-up of the best Lego Star Wars sets of 2025 should include something for you.

The best Lego Star Wars sets released in 2025

Jango Fett's Firespray-Class Starship

It wouldn't be right if we didn't have an Ultimate Collector's Series set in our round-up of the best Lego Star Wars sets so far this year. And in fact, this isn't the only one you'll find. Admittedly, we don't think Jango Fett's Firespray-Class Starship is the best UCS set ever released, but we can't deny that it's impressive nonetheless. Made up of 2,970 pieces, it's the biggest iteration of this style of starship we've had so far — and there have been a few.

If you picked up the Slave I UCS set, which retired a few years ago, you might think Jango Fett's Starship is a bit too familiar. It certainly looks similar, with a similar shape and design, but this one boasts more than 1,000 extra pieces, providing plenty of extra detail and a noticeably bigger build. Do you need to own both of them? Well, no. But that doesn't mean you won't want to. We love that it comes with a stand, too, making it easy to put on display and admire. It's worth fiddling with once in a while, though, thanks to all its moving parts and compartments.

The only thing we're slightly disappointed with is that it only has two minifigures. We'd have liked to have seen a larger collection here.

Gingerbread AT-AT Walker

Alright, including a holiday set as one of our favorite Lego Star Wars sets of 2025 might be an odd choice — but just look at the Gingerbread AT-AT Walker. It's a magnificent sight. It somehow manages to perfectly blend together the spirit of the festive season while also clearly capturing Star Wars fandom, and we just simply love it.

It's also excellent value for money: $60 for a 697-piece set feels like a real steal. It's no slouch, either: measuring nine inches in length, it's big enough to command attention without requiring too much of your shelf or desk space. Next to the rest of your holiday ornaments, we think it's absolutely perfect.

Let's not forget the gingerbread-colored Darth Vader minifigure that it comes with too. We adore unique minifigures, and you don't get more unique than this. We might have had plenty of AT-AT Walkers in the past, but none of them have been so delightfully decorated. It's unique, it's fun, and it's a set we're proud to have in our collection.

Brick-Built Star Wars Logo

With Lego releasing a brick-built Marvel Logo earlier this year, it's no surprise that they've followed up with a Star Wars logo to match. It's a similar size and, just like the Marvel Logo set, it's a great rendition, nailing the curvature of each letter of the logo perfectly.

There are some downsides compared to the Marvel Logo, however. That one comes with five minifigures, whereas this Lego Star Wars Logo doesn't feature any. It's not completely devoid of secrets, though: You'll find a hidden compartment at the top of the 'T': lift a piece away to find a tiny ship. It's neat, but we think we'd have preferred pop-out minifigures.

Still, as we said in our Lego Star Wars logo review, this is a great set to add to any Lego Star Wars collection — it will look fantastic standing behind a Millennium Falcon, or next to a range of Star Wars helmets.

Wicket the Ewok

We have a feeling that people are either going to love this set or hate it. We happen to be in the former camp: We think Wicket the Ewok is one of the best Lego Star Wars sets released in 2025. For a few reasons, really. One: Wicket is adorable. Two: We've never had a brick-built Wicket before. And three: It's just so unique.

Being made up of 1,010 pieces, it's not the largest set in the world, but it makes for a managable larger build, particularly if older kids are tackling this by themselves — and given the set's 12+ age rating, it's likely that they will. It is a little pricey given the amount of pieces here, though, so it might be wise to wait for Wicket to enter the sale.

Still, there's a lot to love, thanks to the texture given to the Ewok's fur — a tough feat to achieve with plastic bricks. Its face is unmistakably Wicket, and it even comes with a tiny Wicket minifigure to stand next to it. There's a UCS information plaque too, which makes it feel like more of a premium set.

Kylo Ren Helmet

When we first saw Lego Star Wars Kylo Ren helmet, we couldn't help but groan. We saw the silver markings on the face and assumed they must be stickers. We hate stickers. But it seems Lego heard our cries, because there isn't a single sticker in this set. You heard that right: Every marking here is entirely printed. We imagine that fact alone will make this a fairly sought-after model, simply because some of its pieces will be unique and exclusive to this set.

Love him or hate him, there's no denying that this model perfectly replicates Kylo Ren. We can almost hear Adam Driver's dulcet tones coming out of it. Like the rest of the helmets in the collection, this one is built atop a solid and sturdy stand, and it comes with a display plaque (printed with 'Kylo Ren') to attach to the front of it.

Chopper (C1-10P) Astromech Droid

We don't think Chopper is the most iconic droid in the Star Wars universe, but it is one of the cutest. This little model is adorable, although there's emphasis on the little — it's only 8.5 inches tall, which is a little smaller than we'd expect a droid to be. Still, made up of 1,039 pieces, it's still a sizeable build, and a great choice if you want something to sink your teeth into for a few hours.

There are some neat details on Chopper: His head can rotate, and you can adjust his antenna, pose his arms, move his legs and fold out a tool from his chest. You can even completely detach the arms and center wheel, which gives the appearance that they've been retracted into the droid's body. It's a shame that they don't actually retract into the body, but we imagine that would have made Chopper a much more expensive (and complex) set.

AT-AT Driver Helmet

We think the AT-AT Driver Helmet might just be one of our favorite Lego Star Wars helmets yet. Sure, this might not be the most iconic Star Wars character ever made — we're certainly not all sitting around thinking, "remember the iconic performance of AT-AT Driver #2 in The Empire Strikes Back?". Regardless, there's no denying this is one seriously cool helmet; one which packs in a lot more detail than your average Star Wars helmet.

It's a fun build, too, as we mentioned in our AT-AT Driver Helmet review. Thanks to the slightly different shape of the head and face, you'll need to employ some different building techniques, so even if you've built every helmet previously, this one will feel fresh. We also love the pop of color: The red accents stand out against the gray coloring of the helmet, making it much more eye-catching than most other sets in the series.

Acclamator-Class Assault Ship

There's an awful lot to like about the Lego Star Wars Acclamator-Class Assault Ship, but our favorite thing has to be its price point. Adult-focused sets that result in a wonderful display piece for under $50? More of this, please, Lego. The Acclamator-Class Assault Ship might not be very big — it's nine inches at its longest point — but it's perfectly formed, and despite its size, it still manages to include a lot of detail.

It features engines, a command tower, a bridge and a detailed tail. A smattering of red bricks and some printed patterns (no stickers!) give it a much-needed pop of color. We sung its praises in our Acclamator-Class Assault Ship review earlier this year: It's eye-catching, and it's not going to take up too much space on your desk or a shelf. What more could you want, really? We really hope we see more ships arrive on this scale in 2026.

Grogu with Hover Pram

Who doesn't love Grogu? The adorable 'baby Yoda' as he's affectionately known is one of the best things to come from modern Star Wars, and so we welcome any Lego model of him. This isn't the first time we've had a brick-built Grogu, of course: the previous model, simply called The Child, is now retired. And this one isn't just Grogu: It also comes with his hover pram.

As much as we like the hover pram, it's a shame that the majority of the set is taken up with the pram itself. Grogu is fairly small in comparison, and although he's ridiculously cute, we think we'd have preferred a slightly bigger Grogu model. Still, as we talked about in our Lego Star Wars Grogu with Hover Pram review, there are some nice details here, like the frog Grogu can hold in his hand, and the fact that his head, ears and arms can move.

Death Star

You didn't think we'd miss off the Ultimate Collector's Series Death Star, did you? Last but not least, this huge and expensive set is the most expensive set Lego has ever released. It's also the biggest Star Wars set in terms of piece count, and those two factoids alone make this seriously impressive. There's no way we could leave this off a list of the best Lego Star Wars sets released in 2025 on sheer merit alone.

But its price — an eye-watering $999.99 — likely means that many people simply won't be able to enjoy this set. We think it's just too expensive for a Lego set. It's also huge, and not many people are going to have enough space to display it. There's also the fact that it's not a full Death Star, but a cutaway section of it — all reasons we've discussed in detail in our article about why we won't buy the UCS Death Star.

And yet, we still find ourselves drawn to this magnificent set, even if it is ridiculous in a lot of ways. It's packed with minifigures (38 in total) and each section of the Death Star displays a key scene from the Star Wars movies: There's a throne room, a trash compactor, a hangar control room and a whole lot more. There's no denying it's a spectacular sight to behold.

They have taken them to space (for real) and advised on their futuristic Mars vehicles. Now the European Space Agency (ESA) is partnering again with Playmobil to explore the moon.

Released earlier this year but now widely available in stores across Europe and in the United States, the Playmobil Starter Pack Space Mission is the latest set to come from the collaboration between the German toy company and the agency. The $22.99 (€19,99 or £19.99) pack includes 57 pieces.

"This partnership ensures that the curiosity and wonder of space continue to spark young imaginations — nurturing a new generation ready to explore, innovate and shape the Europe of tomorrow," said Nadia Lüders, ESA's partnership and brand licensing officer, in a statement. "[It also] takes on special significance this year, as we celebrate ESA's 50th anniversary."

Recommended for children ages 4 through 10, the Starter Pack Space Mission comes with an astronaut figure in a modern lunar spacesuit, a rover with two lights, antenna, solar panel, satellite dish, rock samples and other accessories.

"The astronaut discovered unusual soil samples during a tour with the lunar vehicle. The samples now have to be analyzed very quickly in the mobile station and the results transmitted via satellite. What will the results be?" Playmobil's description reads.

The astronaut's spacesuit and the sample box mounted to the front of the rover display the official ESA logo. The 9.76 by 7.36 by 2.84-inch (24.8 by 18.7 by 7.2 centimeters) product box is also branded for the space agency.

"The gripper at the station allows for analyzing soil samples and conducting exciting experiments with the included tools. The trike provides thrilling rides across the moon, with space to transport samples for further study," the product description reads. "With details like an examination table, solar panels and a large display, every space adventure comes alive and captivates young explorers."

The set-up and scenario are not too far from reality. Through its "Moonlight" program, ESA is actively working to enable services like satellite navigation, video conferencing and file sharing on the moon, so they work as seamlessly there as they do on Earth.

The lunar hardware is also loosely based on the equipment being developed and tested in the recently inaugurated LUNA facility located near ESA's Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany. A collaboration between ESA and DLR, the LUNA facility hosts a realistic training environment that replicates the moon's surface.

ESA is also a partner in NASA's Artemis program, which aims to land the next Americans and the first international astronauts at the lunar south pole, where they can seek our water ice in permanently shadowed craters while learning from the experience to prepare for advanced journeys on to Mars.

Playmobil has been inspiring children and adults alike since 1974, one year before ESA was founded. Previous ESA co-branded products have included a 2021 Mars Expedition play set and two Playmobil figures that were made in Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano's likeness that were flown to the International Space Station. In 2022, Playmobil also produced a duopack featuring "ROBert" the robot and an ESA astronaut figure.

A new flight plan has been filed for a NASA winged orbiter and its jumbo jet transport, four decades after the iconic combination departed on its one and only international goodwill tour.

The Lego Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft set recreates the prototype Enterprise and the modified Boeing 747 jetliner as they uniquely appeared when touching down at the Paris Air Show in May 1983, as well as at post-show stops in Italy, England, Iceland and Canada. The $229.99 (€229.99 or £199.99) building kit is scheduled to land on Lego's website for the company's "Insiders" loyalty club members on May 15, followed three days later by an arrival in Lego Stores in the United States and Europe.

The release comes 42 years (and a day) after the 747 and test spacecraft took off from southern California to begin the tour.

"This is a must-have for aerospace enthusiasts and Lego fans alike!" read the Denmark-based toymaker's announcement of the new model on Tuesday (May 6). "Savor every moment, as you bring this iconic tribute to innovation and exploration to life, piece by piece."

NASA first used the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA) to carry Enterprise on a series of piggyback trials to confirm that an orbiter that would be launched like a rocket could return to Earth as an unpowered glider. For the 1977 Approach and Landing Test (ALT) program, the jetliner retained its chrome livery from its previous years flying for American Airlines.

Two crews of two NASA astronauts each boarded Enterprise atop NASA 905 (the first SCA's tail number) at Dryden Flight Research Center (today, Armstrong Flight Research Center), where they proceeded through 1 tests, including five flights where the orbiter was released from the jumbo jet at altitude and then flown to a landing on a dry lakebed below.

Four years later, the shuttle Columbia lifted off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on the first of 135 missions that it and five other orbiters would fly. NASA 905 (and later, another SCA, NASA 911) was used to ferry the orbiters cross country when either they returned from space to the west coast or returned to their assembly facility for recertification and upgrades.

Before leaving for Europe, NASA gave both Enterprise and NASA 905 new looks. Enterprise was altered to resemble the space-worthy orbiters, more closely mimicking the black and white pattern of their thermal protection system and better matching the placement of their identification markings.

The SCA was repainted white with a gray underbelly and a blue cheatline running the length of its fuselage along its row of windows. After crossing the Atlantic Ocean and touching down in Cologne, Germany, the 747 gained another new marking behind its cabin door — the number "376" — its ID for its next stop, the Paris Air Show in France.

The same "376" appears on Lego's new model of the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft. (It is not yet clear if the number is a decal, such that builders can pick how they want to configure the SCA's markings.)

By the time Enterprise was back in the United States and NASA 905 reentered service ferrying Challenger and then the new orbiter, Discovery, in the fall of 1983, the "376" was removed. The rest of the livery remained unchanged until 1995, when NASA 911 (and then NASA 905 in 1996) had the NASA logo on its vertical stabilizer changed from the red "worm" to a simplified version of the "meatball."

The carriers flew with that appearance until the end of the space shuttle program in 2011, when the only addition to NASA 905 was mission markings noting its history ferrying space shuttles, including its flights to deliver the retired orbiters to their museum homes. (Enterprise is now displayed with its tail cone still attached at the Intrepid Museum in New York City, while NASA 905 is on exhibit at Space Center Houston in Texas.)

When assembled from its 2,417 pieces, the Lego Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft is just over two feet long (24.8 inches or 63 centimeters) and has a wingspan almost as long (21 inches or 53.5 centimeters). It stands 10.6 inches tall (27 centimeters).

In addition to reproducing the look of both vehicles, the Lego Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft features landing gear that can be raised or lowered and the mounting system needed to attach the orbiter atop its back. The Lego model of Enterprise includes an attachable tail cone (used to improve aerodynamics with flying atop the 747), detachable main engines and landing gear that can be tucked inside its payload bay.

The kit also has the pieces to build a sturdy display stand and information plaques, the latter displaying facts about the craft.

The Lego Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (set 10360) is not the first Lego model of the 747 and orbiter combo to be released. Thirty years ago in 1995, the company offered the Shuttle Transcon 2 (6544) as part of its Town theme of building kits. It was a much less detailed model, built from just 342 pieces.

The Shuttle Carrier Aircraft is also the second set themed around NASA's winged vehicles be part of the intended for adults Lego Icons line. In 2021, the company introduced its new Space Shuttle Discovery, a 2,354-piece set that built the orbiter and its Hubble Space Telescope payload at 1/70th scale (Enterprise in the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft set is smaller, at roughly 1/112th scale).

The United States' first teleoperated rover to reach the moon's surface is rolling out as a Lego model this summer, together with two futuristic vehicles inspired by real-life robotic lunar explorers.

The new Lunar Outpost Moon Rover Space Vehicle is scheduled for release on Aug. 1, as part of Lego's Technic line of advanced building kits. The $99.99 set is the result of a collaboration between the Danish toymaker and Lunar Outpost, a Colorado-based company specializing in lunar surface mobility, commercial space robotics and space resources.

"Inspired by real-life Lunar Outpost vehicles enabling humanity's return to the moon, this Lego Technic Lunar Outpost Moon Rover Space Vehicle comes with a moon rover, mining rover and MAPP rover to inspire endless journeys of exploration," reads the set's description on Lego's website.

The MAPP, or Mobile Autonomous Prospecting Platform, was the key part of Lunar Outpost's Lunar Voyage 1 mission, which on March 6 arrived on the moon, making history. It would have made even more, had the commercial lander that delivered MAPP there not have immediately tipped over, trapping the rover inside its garage. It never had the chance to actually rove anywhere.

Fortunately, there is planned a Lunar Voyage 2. Another MAPP is scheduled to launch to the moon in 2026 carrying a suite of NASA instruments to investigate a magnetic anomaly known as a "lunar swirl." The mission will demonstrate the versatility of the rover, including its ability to drive long distances and carry a large payload for its size.

The MAPP included with the Lego Technic Lunar Outpost Moon Rover Space Vehicle is representative of the rover in general, with some details modeled specifically after the first one to be sent the moon. The other robotic explorers that are included in this set are not based on current Lunar Outpost designs, but represent capabilities needed to tap into the resources found on the surface.

"The main model is a futuristic all-terrain moon rover with rocker suspension, four-wheel steering, deployable solar panels and a rotating arm," reads Lego's product page for the 1,082-piece kit. "Use the arm to lift the smaller mining rover and send it on a mission to retrieve the moon regolith (lunar rock) elements. Store the rocks in the sample container then deploy the MAPP rover to gather more information about the moon's surface."

The main moon rover when fully assembled measures over 5 inches high, 12 inches long and 7.5 inches wide (13 by 31 by 19 centimeters). The kit is intended builders ages 10 and above.

This the first product released under the Lego and Lunar Outpost partnership, which was first announcement a few days before the first MAPP rover arrived on the lunar surface. At the time, Lego said it was "teaming up" with the rover company "over a shared love of space" and "building ridiculously cool things."

In addition to providing the MAPP rover, Lunar Outpost is also one of three U.S. companies that have been awarded a NASA contract to develop a lunar terrain vehicle (LTV) for the agency's Artemis astronauts to drive on the moon. Developed with GM, Goodyear, Leidos and MDA Space, a new high-fidelity prototype of Lunar Outpost's "Eagle" LTV recently was unveiled at the 40th Space Symposium in Colorado Springs.

Other projects by Lunar Outpost include Trailblazer, the flagship mission for the Australian Space Agency, which will demonstrate the end-to-end use of resources on the moon; and MOXIE (Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment), which in 2021 produced oxygen from the Martian atmosphere as part of NASA's Perseverance rover's mission on the red planet.

The Lunar Outpost Moon Rover Space Vehicle is Lego's latest toy kit to celebrate historic or future mobility devices used for the exploration of the moon. In 2022, Lego released a City set based on NASA's design for a pressurized moon rover and two years later, introduced a highly-detailed Technic model of NASA's Apollo Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV).

The 566-piece model stands at over 8.5 inches tall and is a fantastic recreation of one of the most loved Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy characters, voiced by Bradley Cooper in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and appearing in six MCU movies.

The Lego Marvel Rocket & Baby Groot set sits at a price point that's somewhere between being a pocket-money build and a more expensive adult set. Right now, it's just $47.99, which we think offers great value, particularly for a set that's so enjoyable to build.

It's aimed at older kids (10+) and with just 566 pieces, experienced Lego fans won't find it an overly complex build either, with the instructions being relatively easy to follow. That said, it does have some fiddly sections, thanks to Rocket's posable limbs, so for some, Rocket will pose a challenge. So we wouldn't recommend this set for complete novice Lego builders.

There's only one minifigure included here — a Baby Groot, and it has sit a dedicated space on Rocket's shoulder. We'd have liked to see a Rocket minifigure for display purposes too, but it's certainly not a dealbreaker.

Since 2020, we've been loving Lego's Star Wars helmet range. But with no new set released since 2023, we were beginning to think that Lego had quietly discontinued the sub-theme. It seems not, as a brand new set was released in March: the Lego Star Wars AT-AT Driver Helmet. The series is back with a bang, too, because this is undoubtedly one of the best Lego Star Wars helmets to release so far.

AT-AT drivers (or pilots) first appeared in "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back", and since then, they've appeared in various Star Wars spin-offs — including, most recently, the "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order" video game. There's a good chance you'll recognize this particular piece of armor then, but even if you don't, it's unmistakably Star Wars. This helmet is a little more detailed than that of your standard Stormtrooper, but if you have any other sets from the helmet range, it's going to look fabulous alongside them.

That's perhaps our biggest gripe with this set — and the Lego Star Wars helmet range in general. These sets look okay by themselves, but to get the most out of them, you want to display multiple sets together. That's when they really shine. But with this set costing $80 alone — and most of the range now discontinued and removed from store shelves — it's no easy feat.

Lego Star Wars AT-AT Driver Helmet review: The build

• Building process doesn't feel repetitive
• Enjoyable build with multiple techniques and curved tiles
• Detail on the back of the helmet but stickers are included

If you've built one of the more recent Lego Star Wars helmets, you'll feel right at home when putting together the AT-AT Driver Helmet. The base is identical to the rest of the range, and the rest of the helmet is built by layering pieces onto a central column.

There are some very interesting building techniques employed here, and despite this helmet being essentially a mass of gray bricks, the building process never manages to feel repetitive.

Pieces are used to interesting effect, and we particularly love how curved tiles are used to create the shape of the helmet's eyes. The sides of the helmet are pleasantly curved too, with some nice details around what would be the ears. Surprisingly, the back of the AT-AT Driver Helmet even has some detail, which makes a nice change. It's a shame that some of that detail comes from stickers; however, we'd much rather Lego had used printed bricks, especially at this price point.

The 730 pieces of the Lego Star Wars AT-AT Driver Helmet are spread over six bags, and the set will take you roughly two and a half hours to complete, thanks to some fiddly sections. There's thankfully nothing too frustrating here, though, and for the most part, putting together this helmet has been a joy.

Lego Star Wars AT-AT Driver Helmet review: Design

• Instantly recognizable
• Displayed on a display stand
• Looks better as part of a collection

We can hardly call the design of the Lego Star Wars AT-AT Driver Helmet 'original', because it's based on an existing costume — that, and its structure is very similar to the dozen other Star Wars helmets that came before it. But in terms of achieving a realistic look as close to the source material as possible, Lego has nailed it.

Obviously, creating something rounded and realistically head-shaped out of Lego blocks is no easy feat, but the designers have pulled it off with gusto. As we've mentioned, there are some very creative building techniques used here to great effect; the shape and structure that has been achieved is nothing less than perfect.

There is one part of the model that we're not quite sure about, however. Two black pieces flank either side of the helmet's face, and while it does resemble the real helmet, we can't help but think that it would have looked better if the studs were covered over by a smooth tile. But that's about the only real complaint we can levy at the design here.

Should you buy Lego Star Wars AT-AT Driver Helmet?

If you already own any of the other Lego Star Wars helmets, then yes: The Lego Star Wars AT-AT Driver Helmet will make a fantastic addition to your collection, and we think it's possibly the best Star Wars helmet Lego has released so far. If you don’t? Well, it depends. Only a handful of the sets are still available, so unless you're willing to stump up way over MSRP on the second-hand market, you'll be left with a small collection that's unlikely to grow.

You can display the AT-AT Driver Helmet by itself, but it certainly works best as an ensemble piece, so bear that in mind before you purchase.

Other Lego sets to consider

If you're in the market for more Lego helmets, only three others remain on store shelves: Captain Rex, Darth Vader and The Mandalorian. We highly recommend picking up any of these — they all look fantastic, and if you were to display them all together, well, they would look stunning.

If you want something that works best as a standalone Lego Star Wars set, how about the Mos Espa Podrace Diorama or the Executor Super Star Destroyer? Or, if money's no object, go ahead and treat yourself to the incredible and impressive UCS Millennium Falcon — you won't be disappointed.

Lego has announced the latest edition to the lineup of Lego Star Wars sets, and it's coming on Star Wars Day, aka May the 4th.

As first seen flown by notorious bounty hunter Jango Fett and his young son Boba in 2003's prequel film, "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones," the Ultimate Collector Series version of Jango Fett's Firespray-Class Starship building set is destined for a place of honor in your private collection.

This impressive 2,970-piece set is part of the company's deluxe Ultimate Collector Series, and it's set to release on May 4, just in time for the annual May the Fourth celebration. Lego Insider members get it a bit earlier too, with access opening up on May 1, 2025.

This awesome unveiling lands on the eve of this weekend's Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 where it will be a featured exclusive, prepped and ready for pre-order. The official public general release date is May 4. Insiders also score a sweet Jango Fett's Starship keychain with each purchase.

"Star Wars" enthusiast and veteran Lego designer Jackson Hughes headed up the team that created this remarkable model that retails for $299.99 and measures in at 7.5in./19 cm high, 17.5 in./44 cm long, and 15.5 in./39 cm wide when fully built. It showcases an authentic, detailed cockpit, movable main entrance, and adjustable blasters and seismic charges.

Equipped with an informative plaque, display stand, and Jango and Boba Fett minifigs, the Firespray-Class Lego vehicle can be presented in both a flat landing position or vertical in-flight configuration.

"Building at the Ultimate Collector Series scale allowed us to bring a high level of detail and accuracy to the design," Hughes told THR regarding the complex creation process that included digital 3D modeling from "Attack of the Clones". "For example, the cockpit accurately includes two decks and five seats, which has not been possible in any previous Lego version of this ship."
