Enter to Win! The NSS’s Space Settlement Competition

TheNational Space Society is sponsoring an art contest in which artists are tocreate visions of a spacefaring future--a future of space settlement, be theyon the Moon, on Mars, on asteroids, or orbiting independently in space. Twelvewinning entries will be chosen to illustrate the NSS 2008 Space SettlementCalendar. Judges include world-renowned space artists David A. Hardy and PatRawlings. Artists may submit multiple works and submissions will be accepteduntil January 31, 2007. A total of 58 prizes will be awarded with a total valueof over $9,400.00.

The GrandPrize winner will have their artwork featured on the calendar cover and as oneof the monthly images. This winner will receive a Beyond-Earth Enterprises 8ounce Flight Container for sub-orbital rocket launch and return (valued at$1,500.00); a physical copy of Mojoworld 3 Professional 3D software (valued at$480.00); a $300.00 cash prize; a one year Gold Membership from Artnow Online(valued at $100.00); a 1 year complimentary membership in the National SpaceSociety, which includes a subscription to Ad Astra magazine; and acomplimentary copy of the calendar.

There willbe four First Prize winners in the categories of Best Lunar Settlement, BestMars Settlement, Best Asteroid Settlement, and Best Orbiting Settlement. Inaddition to being published in the calendar, each of the four First Prizeswinners will receive a physical copy of Mojoworld 3 Professional 3D software(valued at $480.00); a $150.00 cash prize; a Beyond-Earth Enterprises LargePhoto Kit for sub-orbital rocket launch and return (valued at $74.95); a oneyear Premium Membership from Artnow Online (valued at $50.00); a 1 yearcomplimentary membership in the National Space Society, which includes asubscription to Ad Astra magazine; and a complimentary copy of the calendar.

Theremaining seven winning entries will each appear in the calendar and theartists will each receive an electronic download copy of Mojoworld 3Professional 3D software (valued at $480.00); a Beyond-Earth Enterprises DNAFlight Kit for sub-orbital rocket launch and return (valued at $34.95); a 1year complimentary membership in the National Space Society, which includes asubscription to Ad Astra magazine; and a complimentary copy of the calendar.
