Why fiddle between your MP3 player, digital camera
and digital video recorder on trips when you can get all the above and more in
one palm-sized package?
A duo of devices, the
latest from Panasonic’s line of portable digital media products, are the Swiss Army
Knives of digital recorders. Dubbed SV-AV20 and SV-AV30 respectively, each device
works overtime to snap digital pictures, record video, playback music, and serve
as a voice recorder, all while fitting in the palm of your hand.
A swiveling, two-inch LCD screen
displays high-quality resolution for both video and still images, while built-in
speakers pump out your favorite audio hits, capable of reading both MP3 or AAC
formats. A built-in USB link in each machine allows images, audio and visual
files to be downloaded to a personal computer.

The SV-AV20 comes with a 32 MB
SD memory card capable of recording 30 minutes of music, 18 minutes of high
quality video (at 15 frames per second) or snap up to 62 digital pictures. But
additional cards, with larger storage capacities, are available
separately.
The SV-AV30 uses a 64 MB memory
card to store double the amount of its partner, and also comes with an A/V cable
and port to plug into your television and VCR at home to record shows you can’t
miss or watch the footage you took on the road.
Both digital media devices are
expected to hit the market this April.
SV-AV20: $299.95
SV-AV30: $399.95
