Take a Wide View
You might hear a lot about
the meteor shower’s radiant, a point in the sky from which all Leonids appear
to stream outward. True, but fixating on it is not necessarily worth while.
Meteors coming right at
you (or nearly so) from the radiant will appear to have short tracks, from your
point of view, and so they won’t last long. Those that streak far from the radiant
have longer tracks and will generally be more enjoyable.
Be attentive to your peripheral
vision. Overly fixating on one spot might cause you to miss something off to
the side.
Also, in the mid- to late-evening
hours, before the radiant has risen, special "earthgrazer"
Leonids can sometimes be spotted.
Relax, the oft-forgotten
