The company that operates Britain's National Lottery has suggested a moon trip as a possible prize in the lottery's next decade.

The operator, Camelot Group plc, included the trip as among the non-cash prizes it may introduce if the company wins a competition to continue running the lottery during the years 2001 to 2008.

Camelot and other organizations presented bids to run the lottery to Britain's National Lottery Commission this week. The Commission will announce the winning bidder by late June.

A Camelot spokeswoman confirmed to SPACE.com that the company's proposal includes a possible lunar trip, but declined to provide further details until after the bid competition is over.
