WHAT HAPPENED
This week we find an unfamiliar Stargate team -- not SG-1 -- in the underground caverns of the desert world that the Tok’ra use as their base of operations, working with occasional ally
Martouf to plan a summit between Per'sus, high councilor of the Tok'ra, and the president of the United States.

Martouf does not understand why scheduling is such a problem, so O’Neill attempts to explain how difficult it is keeping the reality of the government's dealings with alien life secret.
Just then Per'sus himself walks into the room, but as introductions proceed all hell breaks loose. Major Graham, a member of the Stargate delegation, produces a finger blaster device and begins to fire, taking out people from both sides before pressing a button on the device that causes him to explode. ANALYSIS
This week defiantly furthered the Stargate SG-1 plot in many subtle ways.
First we have the death of Martouf , a loss for both us viewers and Carter, who still possesses the memories of Martouf's dead lover Jolinar.
Second, we have a signed treaty between the Tok’ra and Earth, a factor that should heat up the long-promised war with the System Lords.
In quieter but no less explosive developments, Carter's romantic relationship with O'Neill has finally been defined in some fashion. It's out of the box and in the open, where Sam and Jack have to deal with it.
Even beyond the plot points, "Divide and Conquer" contained some grace notes ranging from Astor’s recount of the war to Sam’s feeling of loss and abandonment at the end.
All and all a great work. Definitely an episode to catch in reruns, if you're reading this to catch up.
TUNE IN NEXT WEEK
For "
Window of Opportunity", the "Groundhog Day" episode in which Teal'c and O'Neill are forced to relive the same moments again and again. Yep, it's a rerun.
It's been a long few weeks and the
editor has been flooded with votes, but the results of the Sam and Jack poll are coming soon, honest.
