WHAT HAPPENED

Yet another episode begins with the Stargate opening. This time, General Hammond and Jack O’Neill are in the control room when they are informed that the gate is receiving the activation code belonging to Bra'tac, Teal'c's old teacher from his days on planet Chu'lak.

However, the person who comes through the gate is not Bra'tac, but Sho'nac, a Chu'lak priestess and apparently an old friend of Teal'c. Bra'tac couldn't make it because of some kind of unrest on their homeworld. (spoilers)

ANALYSIS

This looks like the beginning of a new story arc to me.

Many questions -- answered and unanswered -- surface during this episode. We learn that the Jaffa can now communicate with the larval Goa'uld symbiotes living inside them, and also get a glimpse into Teal'c’s past with Sho'nac and his father.

We also continue to see Anise, our ever-friendly Tok'ra representative, and what looks to be the new Goa'uld black hat -- Taneth, played by Peter Wingfield, none other then Methos on the fantasy series Highlander. He's a great new face; when he came onscreen I stood up and cheered.

Between the new and old faces and a heavy dose of intrigue, emotion, and background, this episode is all-in-all another great bit of work from the Stargate team. Keep them coming!
