CARTER: But that was to save Earth.

O'NEILL: Earth, steaks -- there's a difference?

O'NEILL: Teal'c, I'm really sorry.

TEAL'C: You are not.

O'NEILL: He's right about that.

ANISE: You may call me "Anise." It means "noble strength."

JACKSON: I am Daniel. It means "God is my judge."

O'NEILL: I am Jack. It means . . . ah, um, what's in the box?

GUEST STARS

Vanessa Angel - Anise
Kristina Copeland - Waitress
Dan Shea - Sgt. Siler

WHAT HAPPENED

General Hammond and the members of SG-1 stand in front of the Stargate as it opens. Apparently the Tok'ra (the "good" faction of the Goa'uld) are on their way for some unspecified reason.

This annoys O’Neill because the Tok’ra are not only mysterious, but always seem to escort trouble with them. A striking blonde woman walks through the gate, introducing herself as "Anise," a representative of the Tok'ra High Council. (spoilers)

ANALYSIS

Although this week had a lot of foreshadowing with a new Tok’ra character and new developments with Apophis, it was mostly watching the crew deal with their new super powers and conflict brew between Dr. Fraiser and Anise.

Dialogue and plot were good, making this standalone episode enjoyable if not edge-of-your-seat gripping.

One minor point: the battleship was not a very convincing matte. In light of the amazing Asgard world and the bugs of the last few episodes it is surprising to see effects on par with early seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation from this show.

DANGLING PLOT THREADS

Will we ever see the armbands again?

TUNE IN NEXT WEEK

Teal'c's old girlfriend reappears in "Crossroads", claiming to have discovered the way to defeat the Goa'uld.

When will the results of our Sam and Jack Survey be released? Next week, honest. It's been a hectic couple of days. Meanwhile, send your comments to the editor.
