In any case, a late scheduling
change to Monday nights -- away from Wednesdays, where the show had languished
in head-to-head competition with science fiction warhorse Voyager
and the critically acclaimed West Wing -- helped save the program.
Roswell will remain
in its existing Monday night timeslot next fall.
Farscape also gets picked
up
In other next-season news,
the Jim Henson Company, makers of Farscape,
announced that the SCIFI
Channel had picked up a third season of the popular series. Filming will
begin in November, and the new episodes will likely appear on the channel
in 2001.
The fate of The X-Files
remains nebulous, as may befit that program's unworldly tone.
