Michael McManus
plays "Kai," last of the sullen Brunnen-G warrior-poets, in the dark science
fiction comedy series Lexx.
To call Kai the last of
his race might be overstating the issue because he's actually been dead
for several centuries, making the Brunnen-G technically extinct.
Regardless, Kai is still
fairly agile for a corpse so long as he has a ready supply of proto-blood,
a preservative nutrient engineered by the galactic tyrant addressed as
His Divine Shadow.
Following a long engagement
working as the tyrant's assassin, Kai regained his self-consciousness and
escaped with Xev,
Stanley
and 790
in the Lexx.
His undead condition causes
him angst.
Michael McManus, on the other
hand, hails from London, Ontario. He has appeared in a number of films
and television series, counting a part in acclaimed Canadian director Atom
Egoyan's Speaking Parts among his roles.
