Liam: Murder is beyond our authority, Sandoval.

Sandoval: I suggest you follow the Congressional Record more closely, Major. Article 34 of the New Companion Cooperation Decree grants Protectors license to kill under extraordinary circumstances. I should know; I am the author.

WHAT HAPPENED

While working in a lab aboard the Taelon mothership, Dr. Andrea Mazar suffers a flashback to an explosion in her past.

Da'an arrives to check on her progress, pointing out that the artifact she is working on contains a message from Ma'el.

"Unfortunately for you," she says, pointing a weapon at the puzzled Taelon, "this is as close to Ma'el's secrets as you are ever going to get."

"You have lied to me for the last time, Da'an." (more spoilers)

ANALYSIS

It seems Liam Kincaid is Zo'or's new fair-haired boy, or at least partner in the Taelon's latest endeavor.

The important question is, "why Liam?" There are two possible explanations.

First, Zo'or may appreciate the irony of allying himself with Da'an's Protector. Zo'or seems committed to destroying, or at the very least humiliating his alien parent – what better way to accomplish this than by recruiting Da'an's closest human ally?

It is also possible that Zo'or actually trusts Liam. He certainly has reason to do so after owing Liam his life in episodes like "Interview" and "Keep Your Enemies Closer".

If nothing else, this explanation suggests that there is some degree of continuity running through the series, that the unending plots and stratagems that have unfolded throughout the season may be building toward something.

WHAT WE LEARN

Renee attended Harvard.

UNANSWERED QUESTIONS

What will happen to Philip King's business now that he is in hiding?

How will Zo'or use Ma'el's data?

Will Liam share the data with Da'an?

FUTURE FAMOUS?

Lexa Doig ("Joan Price") has recently been cast as the beautiful starship Andromeda Ascendant in the upcoming series Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda, also from Tribune Entertainment.

TUNE IN NEXT WEEK

The explosive season finale! The Resistance tries to uncover the origin of some mysterious weapons before the Taelons can track them down in "Arrival".
