Space on TV for Monday, September 13

Today's space-TV programming underlines the sharp divide in UFO mythology by giving lunchtime viewers a choice between Close Encounters and the Invasion of the Body Snatchers. For fans with more exotic tastes, Showtime Beyond is airing all four of the original Lexx movies.

(all times Eastern)

Monday, September 13

12:00AM Tales From A Parallel Universe: I Worship His Shadow (Showtime Beyond)

The first of the four feature-length episodes of the "Lexx" saga introduces the cast, centering around their theft of a unique starship and battle against His Galactic Shadow, a gnostic galactic emperor. Enormous fun!

1:35AM Tales From A Parallel Universe: Giga Shadow (Showtime Beyond)

Fourth in the series, which Showtime Beyond is apparently showing in random order. The Lexx crew fight one of His Galactic Shadow's predecessors to get Kai the proto-blood he needs to stay mobile. With Malcolm McDowell, who was paid in rugs for his efforts. Bizarre and satisfying.
