Kenny Baker will be back in the R2-D2 costume in the next few weeks, with no less a figure than George Lucas himself singing his praises.
"The robotics technology inside the Artoo models have advanced to the point where they can achieve most of the performance I need right alongside the other actors," Star Wars creator Lucas said in a release. "Still, there's an element of humanity to Artoo that comes from having Kenny Baker inside. "
Lucas went on to say that he had "always had Kenny scheduled for a number of shots."

At the time, Baker was not listed on the official Star Wars Web site as a member of the Episode II cast. This oversight has been repaired.
The actor has a long and rich track record of appearing in science fiction and fantasy films, including Labyrinth, Time Bandits and the made-for-television Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
With Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Baker is the only actor to appear in all three of the original Star Wars films and both prequels so far.
