NASA has released four images taken by the Hubble Space Telescope, showing nebulae surrounding stars in the Milky Way galaxyTherelease of four new images marks the one-year anniversary of the HubbleHeritage program, designed to showcase the most beautiful photos takenby the orbiting telescope.

They show nebulae surrounding starsin the Milky Way galaxy.

Two of the images show interstellargas and dust around young stars at the beginning of their lives (HerbigHaro 32 and Hubble'sVariable Nebula), and two more show gas ejected from old stars thatare nearing the end of theirs (NGC2346 and NGC2440).

Despite their different evolutionarystages, all four images show features in common, including evidence ofdiametrically opposed gas ejections from both the young and old stars.
