Water on Mars
At 8:03 p.m. Eastern Time on June 20, 2000 SPACE.com reported that NASA had found evidence of water on Mars. It was a remarkable finding, which subsequently fueled hopes for the existence of microbial life on the Red Planet. It also made the prospect of a human mission to Mars a more practical idea.
