This is a view of Ishtar Terra from the west. It is almost equal in size to Australia. A large plateau standing 2 miles (3.3 km) above the surrounding lowlands, it is bounded by relatively steep slopes. Plateaus and lowlands on Earth and Venus may have formed similarly.
