Welcome home! NASA’s Stardust sample return capsule shoots through the sky during its January 15 plunge toward a Utah desert landing. A movie of the reentry was shot from a NASA DC-8 aircraft using an intensified video camera at 30 frames per second. The human-made fireball was first bluish in color and then became a deep red, leaving a trail that lasted tens of seconds.
