This is an artist's rendition of the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO). It is operated by both the ESA and NASA. It was launched in Dec. 1995, and in 1998 its mission was extended to 2003. Beside studying the Sun, it has discovered over 100 comets. Click to enlarge.
