Hubble made this more detailed black-and-white image on Aug. 24 with its ACS instrument. The central bright line snaking left to right is Valles Marineris, with one wall of the canyon sunlit. At far right, the great dusty desert Arabia Terra is pockmarked with ancient impact craters.
