Selected as a pilot by NASA in March 1992. He has two space flights to his name and has logged over 617 hours in space. He served as pilot on STS 75 in 1996 and STS 82 in 1997.
STS 75 (February 22 to March 9, 1996). This was the 75th shuttle mission in the history of the space program. The mission objective of the flight was to test the Italian Tethered Satellite System designed to explore new resources of spacecraft power and to study Earth's upper atmosphere. STS 82 (February 11-21, 1997). The main objective for the crew of Discovery was to make significant improvements in the scientific potential of NASA's Hubble Space Telescope (HST).
