Sidebar:Just six days before Johann Kepler's 430th birthday on December 27, NASA Headquarters announced the selection of the mission named in his honor as a part of the Discovery program. Astronomers Bill Borucki and David Koch at NASA Ames Research Center lead the scientific team. With Project Manager Larry Webster, they will work closely with Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corporation of Boulder, Colorado to construct, launch, and operate the Kepler Mission.
