The 60-page report will contain recommendations on how to implement the space exploration vision laid out by President George W. Bush in a Jan. 14 speech at NASA headquarters. Bush set a goal of returning to the moon by 2020 with the longer term goal of sending humans to Mars. He also called for completing the international space station in 2010 and then retiring the space shuttle fleet. The commission, headed by former U.S. Air Force Secretary Edward (Pete) Aldridge, gathered public testimony during hearings held in Washington, New York, Atlanta, San Francisco and Dayton, Ohio. It held its last hearing May 3. Commission spokeswoman Susan Flowers said the report will be presented to the public at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 10 at George Washington Universitys Jack Morton Auditorium, the same auditorium used by CNN to broadcast its nightly debate program "Crossfire."
