Alpha Crew Enjoys Time Off
Update for 4 a.m. EDT, Tuesday, July 24:
From NASA:
Aboard the International Space Station, the Expedition Two crew exercised and enjoyed some off-duty time Sunday night and Monday. The time off comes after eight days of joint operations with the STS-104 crew. The crew did take some time, however, to discuss activities that will take place prior to the arrival of STS-105 with U.S. and Russian flight controllers.
Also, Russian flight controllers began a series of maneuvers to adjust the inclination of the station's orbit. They commanded the Progress cargo ship's engines to fire to make the adjustment. The maneuver was performed twice Sunday and will be performed three more times later this week. The station's orbit is being adjusted in preparation for the arrival of STS-105 in mid-August, another Progress cargo ship in late August and the Russian Docking Compartment in September.
