A Soyuz
rocket carrying the unmanned freighter Progress 19 launches toward the
International Space Station (ISS) from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

launched spaceward at 9:08 a.m. EDT (1308 GMT) on Sept. 8, laden with about 2.5
tons of fresh food, supplies and spare parts for the two astronauts stationed
aboard the ISS.

Expedition 11 commander Sergei Krikalev and flight engineer John Phillips
expect Progress 19 to dock at their orbital home at 10:50 a.m. EDT (1450 GMT)
on Sept. 10.
Progress 19
is carrying more than 5,175 pounds (2,347 kilogram), separated into 1,760
pounds (798 kilograms) of propellant, more than 52 gallons (196 liters) of
water and about 2,700 pounds (1,224 kilograms) of dry cargo.
