CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- From the 255-foot level of
Kennedy Space Center's pad 39B, the many launch pads of KSC and Cape Canaveral
Air Force Station stretch out along the horizon.
Easily seen, from left, is shuttle launch pad 39A,
the Lockheed Martin Atlas 5's launch pad 41, the Air Force Titan 4's launch pad
40, and the Boeing Delta 4's pad 37.
Less apparent in this image but still visible along
the horizon to the keen eye , is deactivated Atlas pad 13 and the Atlas 2 and
Atlas 3 pads at complex 36.
Invisible on the horizon in this size of the image
are the pair of Delta 2 launch pads at complex 17.
Other larger buildings in the foreground are the
assembly hangars for the Air Force's Titan 4 rocket.
