The range of complex features
on Mars never ceases to amaze, as in this new image from NASA's Mars Global
Surveyor.
Dark, windblown sand forms
these geometric patterns in the north polar sand seas, particularly in regions
where strong winds converge from different directions over the course of a year.
The picture covers an area
1.9 miles (3 kilometers) across and is illuminated by sunlight from the lower
left. The pattenrs are near 77.8°N, 284.4°W.
Did you see the Mars features
some readers likened to Pacman?
