Poor Lance Bass, 'NSYNC's doe-eyed baritone. While the rest of the Boy Band spent their downtime pursuing the honeys (Justin and J.C.), appearing on Broadway (Joey), or pining away in obscurity (the weird lookin' little dude with the braids), Lance tried to use his powers for good.
An avid space buff (he attended Space Camp as a kid prior to mastering hip-hop-lite dance moves), in 2002 Bass attempted to become the world's third paying space tourist. Despite some initial success in getting support from NASA and the Russian space agency, the deal collapsed when Hollywood schmoozing met the realpolitik of Russian governmental financing.
Thankfully we still have "Cowboy", Lance's contribution to the band's mega-hit album No Strings Attached, to help our cosmc dreams take flight.
