They are grown in the bottles. After the bees do their business you put a small pear in the bottle (without cutting it of the branch) and tie the bottle on the tree.

I don't know, but I'm guessing it's some kind of a time-trial race.

Niagara Falls, which is eroding itself backwards constantly. Of course, this is true of all waterfalls, but this one is particularly famous.

Egyptian onions are perennial (and also easy to propagate). So is garlic (which is related) but I'm not sure if garlic is properly considered a vegetable or an herb. Most herbs are perennial. I've got a potted rosemary and a potted bay in my front window. In fact, most onions/leeks/etc are technically perennials, but don't generally get the chance because they get dug up and eaten after less than one season. Heck, potatoes are perennials too, which should be obvious when you consider that they are propagated not by seed but by cuttings (of the tubers). Carrots are biannuals, but like potatoes and most onions, get harvested during their first season. (They're no good after that.) Oh, and asparagus. That's a perennial. And if we go on to non-US cuisine, the list gets longer. A popular vegetable in Asian cuisine is the daylily. (The buds, blooms, seedpods, and roots are all tasty, especially stir-fried.) It's a very hardy perennial.

I rather think the list is longer than two, unless one has a very restrictive definition of "vegetable".

Question 3 would depend on where you live!
I have kept tomatoes, especially cherry and sweet bite varieties going for several seasons.
Same goes for most of the solanum family, capsicums or peppers, eggplant, chilli's.
If frost or wind doesn't get 'em they can last for years.
