Brazilian military: "UFOs Solid / Under Intelligent Control"

According to UFO researcher A. J. Gevaerd, in an article in UFO Digest, Air Brigadier Jose Pessoa Cavalcanti de Albuquerque, acting commander of the Brazilian Air Command of Air Defense (COMDA) claims that "UFOs Are Solid and Under Intelligent Control."

As I have informed before, the Brazilian Government declassified a few weeks ago a new set of previously secret UFO documents, covering the 80s. I also informed you that we already had disclosures covering the 50s, 60s and 70s. They have been doing the releases by decade. So far over 4,000 pages and 300 photos have been disclosed ...

Among the documents released are the reports of UFOs on May 19, 1986, considered the 'Official UFO Night in Brazil', when 21 spherical objects, estimated 100 meters in diameter - according to military sources - literally jammed air traffic over the major Braziian Airports, when several Mirage and F5 jets were scrambled to pursue them for ours ...

Next Sunday A. J. Gevaerd says "I will interview the former Air Force minister Socrates Monteiro, another authority and officer in Brazil that decided to come public about what he knows and accept to receive me. He was the commander of the Air Traffic Control and Aerial Defense Center (Cindacta)."

I'll keep an eye out for that interview and post a link when it's taken place.

It's your turn for the next UFO book, Smersh, and there is at least one very fat one to be written on UFOs over south America, something largely overlooked here in the USA.

Yes Jim, you're right that South America (and particularly Brazil) is a rich source of UFO reports. I'm not sure if there's anything to match say, Roswell or Rendlesham Forest though (so far) or if there might be confirmation or otherwise that any governments in South America have gained access to any technology (I think researchers would have found it by now from the files released so far if that were the case) but in the case of Brazil the files from 1990 onwards are still to be made public, as I understand it.

As I said, I'll look out for the interview with the former Air Force Minister, which will probably appear in UFO Digest, I would think.

Yes, Roswell and Rendlesham continue to be the huge, fascinating cases. Meanwhile, they see UFOs pretty much on a regular basis down in south America and that gets such little coverage elsewhere. I think that should be the next documentary film for the fellow who did I Know What I Saw! for the History Channel.

Another excellent post/thread, Smersh. Why is it that only three individuals have responded to it? I think it's the same reason reports from South and Central America have always been largely discounted. It seems that the rest of the world considers their residents and governments less credible. Too many Virgin Mary sightings, I think. Even though I've noticed this thread for a few days now, I admit my prejudice had something to do with why I didn't read it sooner. Regardless, any time a government comes forth with an announcement such as this, it's big news.

Regarding the US government releasing similar info, I think it would not reveal much more. I doubt they have any real insight to the origins of UFOs, unless of course Roswell turns out to be true, or there are other similarly significant events that have been completely hidden. Somehow, I don't think so.

Hi Flat, I get the impression that the US files are spread about all over the place among all the different agencies (CIA, FBI, DoD, NSA, NASA etc ) and large corporations (Boeing, Lockheed Martin etc,) so I'm not sure it would be a simple task for President Obama to bring all that together, even if the will was there in his administration to do so. Still, time will tell I guess.
