No, i showed you the quote, gave you a link to the page. What more do you want me to do for you, hold your freaking hand? Look, it's the first freaking thing you said on that page, this isn't rocket science! Jesus christ, i'm the guy who use to smoke MJ a lot and i'm the one having to hold your hand and point out something that YOU said. I thought marijuana was suppose to have bad effects on short term memory, yet you're the one who can't remember what you wrote last night and i can. Not a good sign, might want to lay off the club soda...

Under the circumstances, and since you are so adamant about it, I have no choice but to point out that you are a liar. Nowhere did I say someone should be killed for one seed of any kind, let alone a marijuana seed.

Some of you pot hatters are very extreme in your rationality on the subject of punishment for smoking pot. The punishment should fit the crime. And, smoking pot should not mean you go to jail or be killed for doing so. That is just insane...
Anywho, Mental_avenger you and your kind are now the minority. The laws are changing in favor for those who want it legalized or decriminalized, which has been happening. You said if the people want it legal, then they should vote for it and make it legal. That is exactly what is happening, is it not?...

I don’t know where that getting “killed” for one seed came from, I don’t advocate that. But as for going to jail, that is quite appropriate. The punishment fits the crime. The law says it is a controlled substance, they violate that law, they have no excuse. That isn’t extreme, it is simply the law.
SPACEINVADOR wrote:Anywho, Mental_avenger you and your kind are now the minority.
Irrelevant. My opinion does not depend upon how many people I think will agree with me.
SPACEINVADOR wrote:The laws are changing in favor for those who want it legalized or decriminalized, which has been happening. You said if the people want it legal, then they should vote for it and make it legal. That is exactly what is happening, is it not?...
That may happen, it may not. If it is made legal, then no one should go to jail for buying, selling, or using it, IF they follow the new law. If they violate the new law, which would probably be a lot like the tax laws for alcohol and tobacco, then jail is still appropriate. However, even if it is legalized, I will still be against any person being under the influence of marijuana outside their home.

Meh, it seems you've already smoked too much. Try fighting with the issues in MY post. No penalties for smoking... just nasty penalties for doing OTHER STUFF that is ALREADY bad plus smoking.
Think of it as being like hate crime legislation. Hit a guy, it's assault, hit a guy while saying something about his color, it's assault and hate.
Well, now add: Hit a guy, it's assault. Hit a guy while you're high (which potlovers assure us NEVER happens, so there's no danger in agreeing to this), and it's assault and a "high" crime.
(That's a joke, son. "High crimes and misdemeanors", get it? Not too knackered on the weed to get a pun yet, I hope...)

Yeah, you obviously don't know anything about marijuana. You don't get high and start a fight, you just don't. Your thinking of what people do when they get drunk.

Re: Marijuana May Disrupt Brain Development
Not everyone agrees with you.
'Cannabis has been implicated in violence. A paper in 2002 found alcohol dependent individuals almost twice but cannabis dependents almost four times more likely to be violent than controls (people who did not abuse the substances).'
Also this research
The results confirmed the positive and endogenous relationship between the probability of marijuana consumption and the involvement of the adolescent in physical violence. Particularly, the significant coefficient which accompanied marijuana consumption in physical violence equation was 0.39 (t-ratio = 22.92), while that which accompanies the violence variable in marijuana consumption equation was 0.78 (t-ratio = 14.34).
And this study showed:
In a study of more than 1,000 inner-city youth, those who admitted monthly or more use of marijuana in their early adolescent years reported greater frequency of using weapons and perpetrating violence as well as a higher vulnerability to be victims of violence.
Aggressive anti-social behavior is clearly linked to frequency of marijuana use. The more a young person used marijuana, the more likely he/she was to attack other people or destroy another person's property, according to data from the Office of National Drug Control Policy and the 1994-96 National Household Surveys.
A Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services report showed that marijuana-using teens themselves said they were more prone than non-users to behaviors such as destruction of property and physical attacks on other teen

Re: Marijuana allows higher Mental Achievement
Mental, you crack me up. Try substituting the word "alcohol" for the word pot in all your posts.
It is legal, and damages millions of people a lot more. So you are a hypocrit for supporting The System,
and The Man.
Here is some terminology for you: People who make impractical drug laws are stupid.
There is nothing more to be said on that. You can sit on your ivory tower, where you feel you are some kind of
SUPER OBAMA
that can lead us into a better future,
but, I do not believe it. Most humans know what is good for them and what is not. Self medication is inherently
practical, if you are competent, which all of the pothead addicts are on this forum.
I could find the case of the kid with the life sentence for a seed, but this one is cool too, I just know what
you will say about it...
http://www.talkleft.com/story/2006/04/24/862/67520
First came the poor man, barely 17 years old - too young to buy beer or vote, but an adult under the Texas penal code. He took part in a $2 stickup in which no one got hurt. He pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and was put on 10 years of probation. He broke the rules once, by smoking marijuana. A Dallas judge responded in the harshest possible way: He replaced the original sentence with a life term in prison.
There Tyrone Brown sits today, 16 years later, tattooed and angry and pondering self-destruction. "I've tried suicide a few times," he writes. "What am I to make of a life filled with failure, including failing to end my life?"
Now the story of the businessman on probation for murder who smoked crack and failed numerous drug tests. The same judge let him stay on probation.
[John Alexander Wood], a well-connected man pleaded guilty to murder - for shooting an unarmed prostitute in the back - and also got 10 years of probation. The killer proceeded to break the rules by, among other things, smoking crack cocaine. He repeatedly failed drug tests. He was arrested for cocaine possession in Waco while driving a congressman's car, but prosecutors there didn't press charges.
Judge Dean has let this man stay free and, last year, exempted him from most of the usual conditions of probation. John Alexander "Alex" Wood no longer must submit to drug tests or refrain from owning a gun or even meet with a probation officer. He's simply supposed to obey the law and mail the court a postcard once a year that gives his current address.
You have to read the whole article. It is just unbelievable. There's details of Brown's sentencing proceeding. His lawyer didn't object to the life sentence and now can't recall the case. Either can his appellate attorney. Then there's this:

Mental_avenger, you say you will be ok with people getting high at home, if it becomes legal. But, god forbid they leave their house.
So a person who just smoked a couple hits should give-up their right to life? Make them stay inside like their subhuman and undeserving of any freedom beside staying home? You my friend seem to be the one that is paranoid...

For saying heads do violence. Sorry, not like drinkers at pool halls or bars that get in fights.
Heads just want to toke, or jam with some Slayer. Not do caveman crap like pop or booze drinkers.

I read a few years back, that people who get paranoid after smoking pot are likely to have a previous mental condition called schizophrenia. Those seem to be a lot of the hatters.

Actually, no. (Were you smoking and reading? Don't do that.)
People who get paranoid after smoking pot tend to have the potential for schizophrenia, which the pot then triggers.
To use a somewhat flawed analogy, it's like in Marvel Comics where lots of humans have the X-Gene, but it takes some freaky event to activate it, like exposure to radioactive spiders or gamma radiation.
Better to avoid radiation altogether.

DUI laws exist for a reason.
So yeah, stay off the road, pothead.
Also, marijuana and tobacco have similar levels of carcinogens, so the rest of us STILL don't want to breathe your crappy secondhand smoke... which, incidentally, also smells a lot more strongly, which you should know if you haven't damaged your olfactory cells yet.

No, not god forbid, the law forbid them to leave their house IF they are under the influence. Please leave religion out of this.
No, they don’t have to give up their right to life. That would be unfair. Just give up their right to go out while under the influence.SPACEINVADOR wrote:So a person who just smoked a couple hits should give-up their right to life?
