I have a serious problem with a company that sells whiskey telling me that "guys never change". The message is beyond offensive and degrading.

The sad thing is that there are millions of lost men who will embrace the message. "Yes! I am a this and that! Therefore I must buy your poison!!" Sad.

Meanwhile they will go throughout their lives believing that they are scum because they are men, and that it is normal for a man to live a life of deception in order to win a woman. So wrong.

This is incredibly offensive to me. If it is not incredibly offensive to my fellows out there, then the human race is already doomed.

"Oh yeah man! Listen! Just grab a puppy, act like you just rescued the little squirming a-hole of a living dog, and throw him into the fire with gusto!!"

See? It's so simple! close(-)

There's absolutely no REASON for the abuse or torture of animals, whether they be pets, game animals, or predators, in my opinion.

MA is just an old buck, set in his ways.

But to me, as you and others, while we need meat to eat, and we are by nature hunters (I don't believe what vegetarians and vegans believe. I point out our inscisor teeth to them), there is a sanctity in all life, especially the higher forms of life from small arachnids and insects on up. And we need to be thankful, and aware of the gift of that life.

If we were all on a Mars colony and our life support systems began to fall apart, we would greatly cherish that last functioning greenhouse with our last crop of spinach and corn. Life is immeasurably precious. Plant life, animal life, all of it. But we have an immediate and intimate attachment with the other higher lifeforms such as the mammals and reptiles and invertabrates, as well as the honey bees, ants, and spiders for that matter.

That's how I think and feel about it anyway, by God.

Baulten- That is a damn valid point and worth repeating!! We have laws on where, when, and how we can hunt prey animals such as deer, turkeys, quail, wild boar, etc. And laws as well regulating the hunting of predators like our beloved and cherished wolves.

It is a natural extension that we have laws protecting our faithful servants and companions the cats and dogs that are not just so much a part of our lives and our contemporary society, but also of our historical civilization and PRE-CIVILIZATION itself!!!

I'm aware of what the concern is, and the fact that we are talking at the least about long-term human caused environmental and climatic effects and trends. Some of the trends and effects, however, are happening a lot faster than previous climate models projected or predicted. The melting of the Greenland ice cap, for example, as well as the average summer ice melt in the Arctic.

And actually, as overall temperature averages go, a 1.1 F degree or higher overall increase in global temperature in the last mere 100 or so years is NOT "a very slightly" increase. It is a dramatic increase in so short a time as 100 years. One thousand years is less than a blink of an eye in terms of planetary climate change. And a F 1 degree average increase in a little over a century is radical change. close(-)
