I am an independant. I vote for the man/woman, not the party. Seems to make sense to me. And although I am a liberal minded person, I have leaned conservatively for the last several years because of an unmistakable trend I've noticed in the liberal loonies at the extreme left of infinity. The people in charge of this country now.

Ok, so they want to change the entire healthcare system so that we can cover the approximately 47 million uninsured people in the country. They want to spend 10 trillion on 3o million people. So won't we still have 17 million uninsured?

The healthcare in this country is fine. Nothing wrong with it. What's broken is health insurance. The lefty-loonies are just trying to take over another part of this great country's capitalist market and they're using the unisured as an excuse. Sure, make some laws that will reduce insurance premiums so that ALL can afford it. But for cryin out loud, we are not idiots. You don't need to reinvent the wheel because the rubber industry is charging too much for the tires! Just lower some costs. Break up the monopolies! Create competition. They done it b4 with the phone companies and others. It was a simple solution then. So what's the problem now? Liberals want to control you more, that's all. Bail out the banks and own most of the mortgages. Bail out the auto industry and own most of GM. They want to regulate the internet. It goes on and on. It's smoke and mirrors folks. There not solving any problems. 17million will still be uninsured! even after they get their way. They want to spend 10 trillion to insure just 2/3 of the unisured and ruin the healthCARE system for the rest of us!! Give me a break. What ever happened to letting companies that fail just fail? Other companies then move in and take over and capitalism goes on strong as ever. Everytime a liberal gets into office they want to take over this and that. Same ole story. And where does it get us? Deeper into debt. More government programs that don't solve any problems. More government programs that we can't get rid of even when they turn into liabilities because so many people are needlessly dependant on them. Everything the government runs turns to crap. So what do we got. More and more on welfare and other government entitlement programs. Is it helping them. NO. It just keeps them poor and on the system. You see the trend yet? Government controlled poor people. Government controlled economy/markets. Communism! No, I'm not crazy. I'm well informed. I'm not fear mongering, just putting a few facts together for ya.

The U.S. will not be without drug firms. It seems like maybe a fear monger took over you, or you are maybe trying to worry people.

The sense in the fear mongers could indicate that Nasa should shut down immediately and become outlawed. Nasa is causing scientists to
shut down and cease to exist in response to Nasa's existense. Police departments in the U.S. should also shut down, because security
guards shut down in response to the existence of the police.

The actual situation is actually worse, however. A little extra thought and it just may help to realize that the current situation with U.S. healthcare
insurance is related to tens of thousands of premature deaths of people not far from the potential true middle age.

And no R1, you're right, we won't lose any pharmaceutical firms. Capitalism sees to that as long as we allow it to work the way it was intended. Not by government control. Government is suppose to set the rules and stay out of the game. But libs love to get involved in the game and then tweak the rules to their benefit. Just look at the massachusetts senate seat fiasco for an example. The law don't suit their needs? Change it. Communism!

Just how far do you think space exploration would be if private industry didn't have NASA to compete with? How far would it be if it had the funding that Nasa has had for the last 50 years!? Ask Ratan and other what they've done with a minute fraction of Nasa's money. Nasa, like many other government agencies have squandered many billions, maybe trillions on very little. It's been 40 years since i last saw a moon landing. You see money gets squandeered because it isn't theirs. It's ours. Governments use money like water because it not their money. It's always the taxpayers. Unlike a private business, who it's owners and employees have a vested interest.

I suppose if the police got into the private security business and was federally funded they would put a major dent in the security guard indusrty. But since police is in law enforcement and not the security business they do not really compete. You're comparing apples and oranges there.

Healthcare is fine - Health insurance is broke. Most people come to the US for medical care and operations because we have state of the art treaments and doctors. Healthcare in this country is something to be proud of. How many stories have you heard of someone from another country having to come to America to get an operation not even heard of anywhere else?

The government cannot compete against private indusrty unless it sets rules that are front-loaded to their benefit. Which ruins the game. It's like having an "NFL league team" compete against it's own teams. It wouldn't work because the minute the "NFL league" team starts to lose a game they can change the rules because they are the league! The government wins not because of efficeincy, but because it sets the rules and can change it anytime. They are the regulators.

And your statement about tens of thousands of premature deaths is completely ludicrus. First of all, do you really think that everyone can live to a ripe old age with our current medical knowledge? Sorry but any good doctor will tell you that modern medicine has its limits. And do you really think that a government run healthcare system will make that better? just craziness there, i won't even bother to explain that one cuz if you don't get it you never will. Ask a vet. I am one.

don't anyone bother to counter my earlier points with Clinton. He's the one who started all this garbage. Reagan set this country straight after another liberal bum, Carter, left us in ruins. Clinton enjoyed the benefits of what Reagan did and the internet boom made him smell real rosey. But you know what his real legacy is. NAFTA! It's why this country lost most of it's manufacturing jobs! Nothing is made in the US anymore because of NAFTA. Yeah he wanted Healthcare reform too, but couldn't fool the peeps then and Obama ain't foolin' them now. Clinton allowed 9/11 to happen through sheer incompetence. Yeah the economy took a dive at the end of a long war in Iraq, but it was because of Clinton's incompetence that got us there! Yeah Bush was a bum too - should have stayed in Afganistahn instead of going off to finish daddy's war in Iraq! We'd have been done with it by now.

So the libs will get their chance to try again. Don't expect much. Their answer to a ruined economy? Spend more. Entitle more people. And apologize to the world and the terrorists for protecting ourselves for the last 8 years. Oh and BTW, we're gonna try and shove healthcare reform down your throats again at the cost of bankrupting us. Clinton just didn't explain it good enough to us, they think we need another lesson on it. We didn't want it when we had a surplus so maybe we'll take it now that we have a recession!!

Yes, believe it or not, I am a liberal minded person. To an extent. But this is truley communism they are trying to force on us. I mean common! $1,800 fine for not having health insurance? Then IRS mandated $25,000 fine or 1 year in Jail for non paynemt of the original fine! Paeperz pleez! When does the KGB search my premesis?
Ok, you brainwashed individuals, go ahead, quote me and knock down my arguments with you rationalizations. I won't even fight back. I'm not even going to look at this topic again cuz it pisses me off so bad. Just mark my words. If we don't get these communists out of office in the next elections, this country is ruined. Yeah we might all have healthcare, but you're not gonna like it or this country in a couple more years. An American hater and crook is in office, and the Pelosis and Rieds are not much better.

Assuming the Big Bang originated from a singularity (a single point), then a finite spot exists from which the known universe inflated. I'm perplexed that no one has a rough estimate of where this point is located relative to Earth now. Why can't we look at other galaxies and calculate vectors (direction of motion plus magnitude of velocity/acceleration) for each one using doppler shifts. If we follow the direction of this vectors back in time, shouldn't we converge at the center of the universe?

Well everything (that is not gravitationally locked) "seems" to be moving away from us, implying that we are the center. But if you were in a galaxy in the virgo cluster than everything "seems" to be moving away from you. And if you were in a different galaxy in a different part of the universe then it "seems" like everything is moving away from you again. Point is that no matter where you are in the universe, everything else is moving away from you. It always "appears" that you are at the center. So you see, there is no way to plot a correct path to the center. It is merely perspective.

The big bang was not a bang!! It was a really fast expansion of space-time in all directions AND from every point. In other words, everything expanding away from everything else. No central expansion point. The flaw to this theory as I have speculated in an earlier post is that it does not explain the nature of what was outside the cosmic egg. Neither does any other theory. They all have the limitation of not explaining the whole. WE LACK THE FACTS and maybe even the brain power for an all inclusive theory. Everything is multidimensional or manifold or branes and all other forms of explaining finite spaces. But what's outside any of that? There is no brick wall we can say ok, nothing else exists beyond that. "Nothing" is still just more empty space. Infinity must be accounted for in any theory. The facts we lack are way beyond our grasp in that unobservable part of the universe that everyone's been talking about. Or not been talking about. That's where the answers are. Until we see what's beyond this expanding space-time, we are doomed to incomplete theories.

In a way i guess you can claim you are right, but on the other hand I can also claim you are not. Since there is no median location to infinity( like there is no median number) then there is no center. In order to have a "center" there must be a set value. By definition, infinity lacks any set value. close(-)

Have you considered that our universe might be embedded in a higher dimension? Or that it might be a manifold space which is finite but has no boundaries (i.e. the universe is multiply-connected and if it were possible to travel far enough one might find oneself back where one started)?

Yes I have, but the question remains. No matter how many dimensions you invoke nor what type of configuration you can imagine, there will always be "what's beyond that"? Where does the universe finally hit the proverbial brick wall? My point is that any theory that limits the universe to a certain 1) size, 2) a number of dimensions, 3) shape, etc,.. is missing the larger picture. There will always be more. Empty space in another dimension is till empty space. If we are living in a manifold than what is the manifold in? A higher dimension? And what is beyond that .... ad infintum. Which leads me back to an infinite universe with no center. close(-)

Ok, so let's assume that there is no multiverse. And Let's assume that the BB is correct and that space expanded from a micropoint to its present state. Can anyone tell me where this "cosmic microegg" was? What medium was it floating in? This is what I can never grasp about any theory that tries to explain the universe as a finite realm (e.g. The cosmic egg). No theory can ever explain to me what lies beyond. IMO, space must be infinite. No matter what any theory proposes, including the BB. If all of space was contained within a microspeck, then what was beyond it's bounderies? I can only assume that it was empty space. Whether the laws of physics in the "external" space is different is besides the point. That's why I don't believe in the BB nor any other theory I've ever examined. Our observations are somehow false or misleading. We just don't have all the facts. We are like a crab at the bottom of the ocean trying to imagine what the crab nebula might be by looking at it through 1000ft. of water, miles of atmosphere, LYs of space and all by using just our tiny brain.

So if I am correct and the universe is infinite, then there is no center. close(-)

If we all stopped watching his crap, maybe he'd go away.
