Recently I spent a week and a half in jail cell because of a discussion that turned into a slight altercation where the people that initiated the conversation were and never have been in any fans of space exploration. The only reason that the conversation relating to water being on the moon was brought up was as a means of the older generation saying that what was the truth as they see it was the only truth that was allowed to be thought about just so the old world, which they grew up in and remember as being real would be remembered. The discussion did not make any logical sense and was well rehearsed and scripted as the actors involved would not have been able to reply in the manner that they did and as fast as they did due to the fact that they are not active space enthusiast's and would not be able to reply in the manner that they did.

The result of the dispute ended up with me being put into jail for a little over a week and being kicked out of the family where I now have to live in a homeless shelter where I am not employed and only have a few weeks of money left to provide for myself the means to seek employment.

November 15th to November 24th of being incarcerated in defense of the future of space exploration was worth it as will be any future jail time, fines, unemployment and homelessness in response to defending what I believe in...and that is the future of humanity through space exploration, not sitting idly by hoping and waiting for some end of the world event to occur.

I have had time to think about was the jail time and fines worth it? You had better believe it was worth it!

Watch out for the new members here at Space.Com that continue to be against space exploration on a daily basis. I am quite certain that they are gathering names at Space.com in an attempt to force the member's of Space.com to give up their belief in space exploration and to live a simple minded person's life of only applying a general notion of what space is just so they can capitilize on their own unintelligence and meandering's of only specualtively knowing to make theirself seem intelligent and at the center of some aspect of being the center of creation on a universal scale.

I will be returning to court on December 3rd to here the final result of my defending what I believe in.

If anyone here is feeling pressure from someone else to stop engaging in the discussions that occur here at Space.com outside of the website I would contact your local authority as soon as possible to keep these actor's from ruining the future of space exploration just because they are scared of not being at the center of everyone's attention. close(-)

Although this could possibly be placed into the Astronomy section I believe that the topic also relates to Physic's.

We know that the core's of Jupiter and Saturn cannot be active cores like the Earth's or Sun's core. If these two gas giant's cores were active like the core's of the Earth and Sun then the gas would ignite. This must mean that an inert form of energy is present that is creating the centrifugal force at the center of each planet. What could this force actually be then? Could the vortex be a miniature black hole created during the solar system's creation or could the gas giant's core's be something else that was a result of the Big Bang? Both of these ideas could be feasible. The second question could be related to something occuring during the Big Bang that caused atoms to break apart where the neutrons somehow some way remained intact with the electron's and positron's being split away from the atom. This sounds really exciting to think about, a neutron group of non-charged particles being the center of centrifugal force behind the collection of gas that formed into a gas giant.

Another interesting idea would be since the core a gas giant is not active and there is alot gas present, we could theorectically deploy a device to the center of a gas giant and ignite the gas of the planet by creating an explosion that would then feed off of the gas that is contained within the planet's atmosphere.

This type of experiment could lead the way to establishing colonies on planets or satellites orbiting a gas giant where the UV light and heat would cause a reaction between the new sun's energy and the planet or satellite's own ecosphere.

We would be able to create life or the potential for life to exist in an otherwise inhospitable portion of the solar system. close(-)

not a silly question at all ... this is basically the reasoning they used in coming up with the fact that neutrinos do have mass. If they did not have mass, they would travel at c. If they traveled at c, they would not sense the passage of time and therefore, a neutrino could not oscillate into another type of neutrino - an obviously time-dependent phenomena. Since they determined that neutrinos do in fact oscillate and change from one type of neutrino into another (which happened to be the solution to the long-standing solar neutrino problem) they must have mass, albeit a very small one.

First off the reference to light sensing any type of sensation is wrong. Light does not have emotion, light is an energy and does not have the chemical processes associated with organic lifeforms to sense emotions as you suggest.

The aspect of time that I am relating to is based off of the linear aspect of meaurement of how the light photon will travel. Some would say that the predictable time of a photon is only one planck second. This is also untrue. If a light photon is affected upon by another energetic reaction where the reaction would cause the light photon to change or alter it's path then the predictable pattern of travel will have changed to another infinite measure of time that will span eternity until affected upon another energetic reaction, which would then change the new infinite pattern of travel to a new infinite pattern of travel. Regardless of how fast the photon is actually traveling it's predictable pattern of travel will be faster than the actual speed by which the photon is traveling, thus making time faster than the speed of light. close(-)

I watched a documentary on the history channel that related to the Sol system's formation. The show went rhough various scenario's regarding how each planet's core, especially Earth's, may have formed. Saturn caught my attention when the host's discussed the fact that Saturn did not have a active core of energetic properties like the solid planets did but was composed of a core of pure gravity. Since Saturn is a gas giant any form of energetic activity like that of the Earth or Sun's core would cause the gas to ignite into a ball of superheated gas. The question I have is what could the possible outcome's be if a device was dropped into the center of Saturn's core that released an energetic amount of energy that ignited the gas giant?

Would the result be an explosion that would send the rings of Saturn hurtling towards Jupiter?
Would the result be that the gas giant would become another sun in the Sol system that would vaporize the
rocks and ice roids in it's rings and possibly ingite the fuse that would start life on the planet's that surround it? close(-)

I don't think two Earth-mass planets could possibly orbit each other so closely that their atmospheres intermingled. The tidal forces between the two objects would tear them apart, unless they were somehow made of some material with incredible tensile strength. No natural planets would be strong enough.

It would really depend on how much water was on each planet for the tidal forces to have any affect. If one planet had less water then the tidal forces would be less prevelant. Two Earth like planets orbiting each other would be interesting too see and would make a great backdrop for a sci-fi story based on The Tale of Two Cities, but would instead be called The Tale of Two Planet's. close(-)
