More amateur hour at the White House.... or otherwise known as standard operating procedure in the age of obama....

Just the most sickening wishy washy, flip floppy, namby pamby fence sitting that is the hallmark of the entire obama gang...

It's a sad commentary on what happens when you don;t govern from Principle (usually because you don't have any)....


FTA: Honduras: Obama administration finally and completely abandons Zelaya

The Obama administration's wishy-washy attitude toward Honduran elections finally lands him on the right side of the issue: in favor of Honduras and its democracy, and against ousted President Manuel Zelaya, who was thrown out after attempting to extend his reign illegally.

The United States says it supports Sunday's presidential election in Honduras as an "essential" part of a solution to that country's ongoing political crisis.
State Department spokesman Ian Kelly says the U.S. thinks it is important that the people of Honduras have the opportunity to "express their votes in a free and transparent way."


After an Obama knee-jerk reaction to Zelaya's ouster in June, the U.S. had insisted on Zelaya's reinstatement. This would have harmed Honduras's Congress and high court, which had ousted Zelaya, even as it served no discernible U.S. interest. At the same time, Zelaya's continuation in power would have benefited one of Zelaya's main allies and alleged sources of funding -- Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez.

By hanging Zelaya out to dry -- leaving him powerless and languishing in the Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa, possibly facing trial for illegally seeking re-election -- the administration saves face in Honduras and ultimately does the right thing.
So all's well that ends well. But even so, as we recently opined, a happy ending is still no excuse for Obama's half-cocked diplomacy, and no number of low bows to Honduras's next president will make up for the damage he has caused there. Again, his legendary inexperience in world matters shows.

Well, Manny, I really do try to be fair. And you do provide backup for most of your claims, and you're willing to retract when proven wrong. I explained why I made the initial post (frustration with the general anti-Democrat aura of this board), and I don't regret making it. But I didn't intend it as an attack on anyone personally, just a frustration with double standards. If I had showed up earlier I would've done the same to the democrats, as I've heard the board was quite aflame with anti-Republican hate during the Bush administration. I don;t agree with the generalization that Democrats and Republicans are the same when it comes to lying.
To me it's very obvious that Democrats lie more often, tell much bigger lies and get away with them much more easily...

Going back to obama's book again: having a TERRORIST write your book and then taking credit and accepting the glowing reviews under false pretenses is a HUGE lie. If any Republican , let alone a Republican President had done such a thing, the scandal would be intense and immediate.... with obama, the SUSPICION that he had commited literary fraud has been around for almost TWO YEARS and it was recently confirmed by that new book on the obama's marriage... and STILL the silence from the media is deafening.... This is a HUGE story.....

So, yes it's true that some Republicans lie and deceive... but it is also true that MORE Democrats tell BIGGER lies, more often and get away with them ... then Republicans do. close(-)

In general, you are correct. Although in Palin's case, she had already broken sales records BEFORE the book came out. so, people were not buying the book because it was dumbed down as you say. Hey, here is an original thought.... maybe, just maybe, people are buying the book because they LIKE what Palin has to say and they are very much interested in what she has to say about a whole range of issues..... could THAT be a reason ??

Number of copies sold of a book is really meaningless. I mean, look at some of the top sellers. A good example is that garbage book Twilight. Sells tons of copies, and it's a literary piece of dung.

The popularity (i.e. number of copies sold) of those books were his first source of "credibility" in the public consciousness.... So, if this worked out so well for obama (to the detriment of virtually EVERY OTHER US citizen) it is reasonable to expect that it might similarly boost Sarah's public perception.... Granted, her task is twenty times harder since every mass media organization out there was in the tank for obama from the get go (mainly because of the incredible PC street cred they all got from backing and promoting a black candidate and an ultra liberal to boot) and the same mass media cabal is viciously full out against Sarah Palin.
But no matter; the mass media credibility is shrinking faster than obama's approval numbers and many real American Patriots are bypassing the mass media filters and making up their minds from direct interaction with Sarah and directly receiving and evaluating her views themselves (with no "help" from the "wise" media pundits) close(-)

So, my friend... as you can see... you are at an obvious loss here... No one forced to make the charge that I call every mis-statement that obama makes, a lie. But yet you DID make the charge. And I challenged you on it.... and you have NOTHING to come back with to defend yourself and to justify the charge....
The honorable thing to do in these cases is to retract what you have said and promise not to make charges in the future that you cannot backup. Common decency also would require that you sincerely apologize for falsely accusing a person.... I am not waiting for, nor do I expect you to apologize.... merely to do the honorable thing.

I didn't intend to imply you claimed ever misstatement a democrat makes is a lie. I only meant to vent frustration with the republicans on this board who are quick to defend republican lies as misstatements and equally quick to call democratic misstatements out as lies. You do attempt to back up everything you say, which, while I may get tired of your excess article quoting, I appreciate. I do not owe you an apology, though, because my statement was directed at the general attitude of the forum, not at you in specific. Nor do I care if you think I am honorable. But I do want you to know that for the most part, the posters on this forum try to back up what they say about politicians. Unfortunately there are far more far right and far left posters then independents, because both sides put together drive them all away!
