There certain episodes that dealt with very specific sensitive issues of the day. I;m a trekker not a trekkie so I can't quote chapter and verse which episode did what but here's what I remember. Episode that dealt with racism, the guys who were half black and half white on opposite sides. Episode that dealt with over population and birth control where the people were so packed together they brought Kirk to their planet to introduce a disease. Episode that dealt with social status about the cloud people and the miners who had no status and many more. close(-)

How about a big wad of aerogel launched in a retrograde orbit which would absorb all of the tiny pieces of space junk in its path until it got heavy enough to deorbit and burn up in the atmosphere. close(-)

As much as we may want to keep the military out of space they will end up being there. As soon as there are cargos transiting from planets or asteroids back home to earth there are going to be others trying to steal or destroy the cargo. Then you will be begging for the military to protect said cargo. Also throughout history and especially the history of aircraft military advancements have outpaced civil advancement by a bunch. close(-)

No, I meant the capability to build a tanker, though Boeing has numerous customers that are already operating the 767 derive vehicle and Airbus is starting to deliver their version also.

Unless you are being real nit picky they are the same thing. The USA buying an EU plane is not serving to maintain the USA's ability to build tankers or planes in general or keep the aviation skilled work force employed. close(-)
