Neil Tyson

 
Neil deGrasse Tyson is the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History and the author of numerous books and essays on astronomy and astrophysics. Like Carl Sagan before him, Tyson strives to excite the public about the cosmos while at the same time educating people about the importance of science. In 2001, Tyson was appointed by President Bush to serve on a federal commission examining the future of the U.S. Aerospace Industry. When the President outlined his plan in 2004 for Americans to return to the moon and to visit Mars, he appointed Tyson to a 9-member commission charged with turning his vision into reality.
