WASHINGTON -- Russia, China and North Korea were all "key suppliers" of ballistic missile technology to countries developing weapons of mass destruction during the first six months of 2000, according to an intelligence report delivered to Congress this month.
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is required by a 1997 law to submit the "Unclassified Report to Congress on the Acquisition of Technology Relating to Weapons of Mass Destruction and Advanced Conventional Munitions" every six months.
Russia, China and North Korea all helped Iran from January through June 2000 to develop a space launch vehicle that the CIA believes may be part of a long-range ballistic missile program, according to the report.
