Solar Prominence Photobombs Eclipse Totality | Video

Timing is everything. An enormous solar prominence bloomed out into the corona during the March 9th, 2016 solar eclipse, visible in parts of Southeast Asia. A live feed broadcast by the Exploratorium Science Center in San Francisco showed the event, including the period of totality when the moon is almost completely blocking the Sun’s disc, revealing its scorching atmosphere.
