Neighboring Star-Nurseries Are Actually 11,000 Light Years Apart | Video

Two massive star forming regions in the southern Milky Way appear to reside next to one another in ESO's La Silla Observatory image. But star cluster NGC 3603 (with the highest known concentration of stars in our galaxy) is 20,000 light years away and the star-birth gas cloud NGC 3576 is 9,000 light years away. (Full Story)
